The Heavenly Dao System-Chapter 91: Honor Guest
As Ye Ming outright admitted the incident to be true, Gong Shu didn’t delve into it further.
He stood up and cupped his fist with a solemn expression. "Please forgive me, Senior Dao. But can you please heal a disciple of mine?"
"A disciple of yours?" Ye Ming appeared shocked as he turned to Lin Loi.
He inspected her up and down with a pitiful expression.
"Aiyah, you appeared normal, but you were actually sick?" He expressed his sympathy.
But in the next second, he panicked and clasped his face. "Oh noes, my legs! You’ve massaged and touched them before. I’m going to be infected."
"..."
Mo Cheng and Gong Shu were rendered speechless by the dramatic reaction.
As for Lin Loi, her temples wrinkled and her fist clenched tightly. Not only did Ye Ming reveal that she had massaged his legs, but he also accused her of transmitting some sort of disease to him.
How could any sane person remain magnanimous after hearing that!
"You bastard!" She shouted angrily and dashed toward him.
"Ahh, I was right. You’re really trying to infect me." Ye Ming quickly dodged her attack and yelped louder.
Lin Loi’s expression darkened further as she unsheathed the sword that came from her spatial ring. "What part of me is ill? You’re the sick one!"
Just when Lin Loi wanted to use a sword skill, Gong Shu suddenly shouted.
"LIN LOI!"
"Master!"
Frustrated, Lin Loi turned to Gong Shu, her expression depicting that of unwillingness. It was clear that she was dissatisfied with the favoritism being displayed here.
Or to be more precise, she was displeased that Gong Shu cared more about the bedridden Tian Suyin over her.
When Mo Cheng noticed the situation, he exhaled softly and intervened. "Lin Loi, this Daoist Dao’s tongue might not be joyful to hear, but his skills are definitely superior to you."
Although the truth hurt, Lin Loi also knew that she was lacking when compared to Ye Ming.
She might not have genuinely wanted to kill him, but she did intend to make him suffer a little bit for having such a foul mouth.
Unfortunately, she was unable to catch up to him no matter how hard she tried. It looked as if she was always narrowly missing, but Lin Loi wasn’t naive enough to believe it.
In the end, she snorted coldly and sheathed her sword. She then stared at Ye Ming and used her eyes to indicate that she remembered this incident to heart.
Ye Ming shrugged in response. The atmosphere was honestly getting boring, so he wanted to spice things up. Sure enough, he felt a bit great after taunting and teasing Lin Loi.
Meanwhile, Gong Shu cleared his throat and clarified the situation. He was completely unaware that Ye Ming already knew everything.
"Senior Dao, I have two disciples. One of them is Lin Loi and another is Tian Suyin."
Mo Cheng didn’t require Ye Ming’s help, so he referred to him as Daoist Dao, but Gong Shu was different. He needed Ye Ming’s help to heal his other disciple, so he naturally needed to be polite.
"Tian Suyin?" Ye Ming raised an eyebrow and pretended to ponder.
A few seconds later, he clasped his hands and exclaimed," You mean the Tian Suyin who tried to split open the sky and incur the Heavenly Dao’s wrath?"
"Yes, that is indeed my disciple." A look of bitterness appeared on Gong Shu’s face. Back then, he was preoccupied and didn’t know about the situation until it was already too late.
"We’ve just met though. So how do you know I can heal her?" Ye Ming asked.
"There’s no need to conceal it, Senior Dao." Gong Shu bowed his head and explained that he knew some divination. "The backlash that I just received occurred when I tried to deduce you. It was brief, but I can sense that it was the same backlash, albeit less painful." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
After suffering from the backlash, Gong Shu no longer dared to deduce too much. All he wanted to know was whether the person was correct or not. Thus, he was able to recover rather swiftly.
"Hmm, but isn’t there an alchemy competition that’s about to start? Why don’t you just search for the healer when someone wins it?" Ye Ming kept it subtle and offered another suggestion.
"..."
"How about making Daoist Dao an Honor Guest?" Mo Cheng suddenly interrupted and said, "Daoist Dao seemed interested in the alchemy competition. We can just invite Daoist Dao to spectate and talk about things later on."
"Yes, that is right." Gong Shu nodded and showed a grateful look to Mo Cheng. After all, Mo Cheng interrupted to break the intense atmosphere and prevent things from going sour.
Ye Ming was also somewhat interested in the event. He had written so many things about alchemy competition in his novel, but he never witnessed it with his own eyes.
"Might as well." Ye Ming agreed to Mo Cheng’s suggestion and proceeded to point at Lin Loi.
"But if I’m an Honor Guest, then is she ranked above me or not?"
Lin Loi furrowed her brows upon hearing that.
Was it even a question that should be asked?
Before Mo Cheng could respond, Gong Shu took the lead and explained, "Naturally, Senior Dao would be above Lin Loi. She could attend to your matters during the alchemy competition."
"Master?" Lin Loi was astonished that her Master was actually speaking such nonsense. They hadn’t even verified Ye Ming’s ability, much less his cultivation base or how he was able to bypass the formation.
Aside from Lin Loi, even Mo Cheng was stunned by his friend’s behavior and actions.
He didn’t mind Ye Ming having similar status to them, but the part of having his disciple attend to Ye Ming’s matter was a different story.
Just when Mo Cheng was about to say something, Gong Shu sent him a voice transmission.
A few moments later, Mo Cheng frowned and looked at Gong Shu in disbelief.
Amidst their silent expression talking, Ye Ming casually approached Lin Loi and teased, "It appears that your two Masters are about to sell you out to me."
