The Heiress Spoiled by Four Brothers and One Devilish CEO-Chapter 271 Zeta Prime is finally free
Lewis Family’s Old Estate.
When Samuel came back, Stella Banks immediately glanced behind him. "Where’s Megan?"
"She’s still at Dreamscape Manor."
Noticing Samuel carrying an oval-shaped ball, Stella’s face turned dark. "Seriously? You show up playing ball and leave your sister behind? Are you out of your mind? How could you hand Megan over to Tristan?"
Samuel flopped onto the couch, legs crossed. "Mom, do you really think I’m that dumb?"
"Absolutely, without a doubt!" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"Are you even my real mom?" Samuel twitched at the corner of his mouth. "We all fell for Tristan’s act. He and Nicole are clean. They just staged a whole soap opera and fooled us all."
"What are you talking about?"
Samuel leaned back, speaking slowly. "Tristan and Megan got the same sorcery worm—one that usually means either both live or both die. But turns out, it’s a trap. After the worm’s implanted, the man dies in eight months, but the woman survives. The point is to test whether the woman’s love is strong enough to follow him in death. And since Tristan knows he’s running out of time, he faked cheating to get Megan to give up on him."
Stella frowned, confused. "But Megan’s not someone to just walk away. Why would he even go that far?"
Samuel sighed. "The issue is, Megan’s the one who personally planted the worm in both of them. Tristan’s afraid if she finds out he’s dying because of it, she’ll be crushed with guilt. So instead of letting her blame herself forever, he tried to make her hate him. He really loves her, Mom—like, head-over-heels."
Stella sat down hard on the sofa, eyes welling up with tears. "My poor girl... So when she hits nine months pregnant, Tristan’s already... gone? He won’t even see his kid?"
"He won’t even make it that far. He’s probably got maybe two months left."
Hearing this, Stella’s heart ached. Crying, she said, "I’m calling them. They need to come back here and stay."
"Please don’t, Mom." Samuel gently took her phone. "Let them have some peace. Just the two of them—well, three now. They deserve it. Is Jason home?"
"He’s with your sister-in-law."
"I need to talk to him. Going up." Samuel climbed the stairs and knocked on Brandon’s door.
As the door opened, Brandon instinctively looked behind him. "Where’s Megan?"
"Let’s talk inside." Samuel nudged him in and laid everything out.
Brandon’s brows furrowed. "So Tristan’s dying?"
"Yeah, you think you can cook up something to save him?"
Brandon shook his head, serious. "This is way out of my wheelhouse. Karl’s the one who knows sorcery. He’s our only shot."
Samuel smirked bitterly. "Figures. Just had to ask. But Karl’s still being held up—if Tristan crashes before he gets back, it’s game over."
Brandon tensed. "Then we better go find him ourselves."
Samuel agreed with a firm nod. "Then it’s just the two of us. Jason stays and keeps an eye on Wendy. Big bro handles the family."
"I’ll go tell Mom about Emily," Brandon said, squeezing her hand as they headed down to the kitchen."Mom, I’ve got something to tell you."
Stella Banks turned around from the soup pot. "Emily, I made some chicken soup for you. Miscarriages really take a toll on a woman, so you’ve got to take care of your health."
Emily Gates looked a bit nervous. "Actually, um, I didn’t... I didn’t have a miscarriage."
Stella’s smile froze. "What did you just say?"
"I didn’t lose the baby. The baby’s still with me."
Stella took a deep breath, then suddenly burst out laughing. She laughed for a good while before stopping. "You sneaky little devils teamed up to fool me, huh?"
"There was a reason for it," Brandon explained. "Wendy Ford’s necklace was laced with something. The scent made Emily cramp up. To avoid tipping her off, we staged the whole miscarriage thing."
Stella clicked her tongue. "Well, well, you bunch are better than your second brother—real Oscar material here. It’s been so long though, why tell me now?"
Brandon chuckled. "Guess we got a little too into our roles."
Stella rubbed her forehead, clearly exasperated. "And why suddenly now?"
"Sam and I are heading to Northriver to find Karl. We’re hoping he can help Tristan with the sorcery worm. We’re leaving Emily in your care."
"So you only remembered this old lady because you’re skipping town, huh?" Stella shot them a glare.
Samuel quickly went over to give her a shoulder massage. "Don’t be mad, stress causes wrinkles!"
Stella held Emily’s hand instead. "Mad? I’m thrilled! Now go, and make sure you bring him back."
Brandon and Samuel went upstairs to pack, with Emily helping out.
"Northriver’s Cursed Mountain isn’t exactly a walk in the park. I’m kinda worried," Emily said as she folded clothes into the suitcase.
Brandon pulled her into his arms and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Don’t worry. I’ll have Megan talk to Karl. I won’t be gone long, promise. Try not to miss me too much."
"As if. Seeing you every day is already driving me crazy," Emily said, pushing lightly at his chest.
"Really driving you that nuts?" Brandon kissed her nose, then her lips. "You sure?"
Emily’s face turned red in an instant. "No... I’ll miss you like crazy."
Brandon hugged her tight. "We hold on until everything settles down. It’ll be okay. I’m heading off now."
Emily nodded. "The baby and I will wait for you to come home."
Brandon held her for a long time, until Samuel—who had zero sense of timing—barged in, took one look, and quickly turned tail.
Emily and Stella stood at the door, watching the two men leave until even the taillights were gone from view.
"Did they tell your brothers they’re leaving?"
Emily nodded. "Jason will be back soon. Someone needs to keep watch at the temple."
Jason arrived an hour later. He opened the doors to the temple and stepped inside.
Zeta Prime shot out excitedly, finally getting some freedom, laughing mischievously. "Zeta Prime is finally free, like the wind!"
After closing the door, Jason sat down and looked at Wendy Ford, who was curled up on the bed, her face covered in scratches.
"If I don’t get the antidote, I’ll be in agony," she said, slowly sitting up and crawling to the foot of the bed. "Jason, we had something once, right? Can you help me get that antidote?"
