The Heiress Spoiled by Four Brothers and One Devilish CEO-Chapter 288 Mr. Ford agreed to help you.
Elliot Shaw looked a bit unsure. "I-I really can?"
"Of course you can," Zachary replied with a warm smile.
Elliot moved to Megan’s other side and offered his arm. "Megan, happy wedding day."
"Thank you, Dad."
With both her dads by her side, Megan walked down the red carpet toward Tristan.
The joy in her eyes was all from the heart.
Everyone’s eyes were locked on the three of them. It wasn’t a typical sight—two fathers walking one bride. The guests looked confused, faces full of curiosity.
Tristan walked up slowly, love clear in his eyes. He stopped in front of them, got down on one knee, and held up a bouquet. "Megan, will you marry me?"
Megan smiled brightly, pressed her lips together, and took the flowers. "Yes, I will."
Tristan stood up, then bowed deeply to both men. "Thank you, Dads. I’ll take good care of Megan."
Zachary chuckled. "Tristan, you’ve taken the pot and the plant—and now even got it to blossom."
Tristan let out a light laugh. "It won’t be long before fruit shows up too."
"Tristan, Megan’s in your hands now. Even though she’s not..."
Tristan cut Elliot off, his tone sincere. "You’ll always be her father. Twenty-one years of love and care—nothing can ever repay that. Thank you for raising Megan into the amazing person she is."
Elliot’s eyes filled with tears and he nodded again and again. "Thanks for not holding the past against me. What your grandfather did was wrong."
"Dad, don’t say that," Megan gently chimed in. "I was truly happy growing up with the Shaws."
"Alright, I won’t say it again," he said, wiping away the tears. "Wishing you both a happy life."
Tristan bent his arm. "Megan, let’s go."
She took his arm and walked with him toward the arch.
"Tristan, today’s perfect. I’m really happy," she said.
"I’m happy too, Megan. I’m sorry I didn’t plan the wedding myself."
Megan giggled a little. "Doesn’t matter. As long as you’re the groom, I’m good. But you better stay alive, or I’ll get a new one."
Tristan gave a soft hum. "I’ve never wanted to survive more than I do right now."
"You will. I know you will."
Everyone watched with admiration as the couple walked to the front.
Samuel stood there serious-faced, holding a pair of rings. He asked, "Mr. Tristan, do you take this beautiful, kind, and gracious woman as your wife? Will you love her, comfort her, respect and protect her, just like you love yourself? Will you stay loyal through rich or poor, sickness and health, for all the days of your life?"
"I do," Tristan said with a nod.
"Ms. Megan, do you take this handsome, kind-hearted man beside you as your husband? Will you love him, comfort him, respect and protect him, just like you love yourself? Will you remain faithful to him, no matter what life brings, and stay by his side until death do you part?"
Looking into his eyes, Megan said, "I do. I’ll walk with him until the end."
"Now, exchange rings as your wedding token."
Samuel handed over the rings. Tristan and Megan put the ones they had once bought together onto each other’s ring fingers.
Tristan pulled her into a hug, his body trembling slightly. "Megan, I love you. I really, really love you."
"I love you too, Tristan. Let’s never be apart."Applause erupted around them, and many guests were moved to tears.
It was such a joyful scene, yet a strange layer of sadness hung in the air.
Stella was crying like she couldn’t hold it in anymore. Zachary wrapped his arms around her, comforting her softly, "Don’t worry, we’ll definitely find a way to save Tristan."
Just then, a loud rumble echoed in the sky.
A military helicopter flew in and hovered above the Lewis family’s estate.
Two flashy figures stood by the open doors. As the chopper lowered, they jumped down and landed smoothly on the ground.
"Hey! My dearest master and fairy lady, congrats on your wedding!" Zeta Prime and Delta12 came running over excitedly.
Before they got close, something black landed with a smack on Zeta Prime’s metal head.
"Damn it, Zeta! I missed you like crazy!"
Zeta groaned, brushing his shiny head with a metal hand. Seeing the white mess sticking to his fingers, he lost it. "Dumb parrot! Can’t you keep your butt to yourself?!"
The guests burst out laughing.
Mr. Reid glanced at his watch and mumbled to Julian and Pearl, "Your father hasn’t shown up yet."
Julian sighed, "Dad, what’s the rush? That old Mr. Ford isn’t exactly easy to convince. For Tristan’s sake, big brother’s been kneeling at Northriver Mountain for seven days and nights. Honestly, he was kneeling for you."
Mr. Reid fell silent, face turning grim.
Tristan gently pulled Megan’s shawl tighter around her shoulders. "Let’s head inside. It’s getting chilly."
"Where’s your dad? Grandpa’s expression didn’t look great either."
Tristan shook his head. "Let’s go ask."
They walked up to Mr. Reid. Tristan asked, "Grandpa, where’s Dad?"
Julian put an arm around Tristan’s shoulder. "He went to Northriver to ask Mr. Ford for help."
"You all already knew?" Tristan frowned.
Brandon joined in, "Sometimes the only cure comes from the cause itself. If there’s history between the Reids and Mr. Ford, then we gotta swallow our pride. Sorry, we didn’t have another choice. None of us want to lose you, or watch Megan become a widow, or your kid be born fatherless. So yeah, we took a desperate shot."
"Grandpa, what happened between our family and Mr. Ford?"
Mr. Reid let out a dry cough and muttered, "Your grandma chose me over him back in the day. He’s held a grudge ever since. Jealousy. Straight-up, raw jealousy."
Tristan rubbed his forehead. Wow. He did not see that soap-opera twist coming.
Just then, Julian’s phone buzzed. He glanced down and lit up with excitement.
"It’s big bro!" he answered quickly.
"Got it—thanks." He hung up and clutched Tristan’s hand. "Tristan, Mr. Ford agreed to help you."
Mr. Reid narrowed his eyes. "That fast?"
"Yeah," Julian nodded.
Mr. Reid looked skeptical. "He didn’t ask for anything in return?"
Julian cleared his throat. "Well, he did. But nothing serious. Just asked big bro to call him godfather."
Mr. Reid slammed his cane to the ground. "That damn Leonard Ford! What a petty man!"
Julian just grinned, "Still, at least Tristan’s gonna be okay."
Megan burst into happy tears. "This is such good news."
She had even thought about delivering the baby early next month, just so Tristan could see the child once...
And then maybe beg Mr. Ford herself, ready to exchange her life for his.
But it turned out Tristan’s dad already went himself.
