The Heiress Spoiled by Four Brothers and One Devilish CEO-Chapter 302 You’re so handsome
Megan lowered her gaze, her nose tingling with unshed tears. God knew how much she missed that man.
Only the melancholy strains of her zither could express the emotions bottled up in her heart—grief, bitterness, and the agony of separation tearing at her soul. The hauntingly beautiful music deepened the sorrow of the late night.
Three nuns sat quietly on a bench, listening to the melody as they watched the silver-haired woman standing in the courtyard.
Her beauty was breathtaking, impossible to look away from.
Ivy Blue turned to Samantha Green. "Abbess, what exactly did Mr. Ford tell you about Megan back then?"
Samantha Green recalled, "Just that she had been abandoned by a man."
Ivy Blue scoffed. "That Mr. Ford is downright wicked! How could he tear apart a loving couple like that?"
Lily White nodded. "You should have seen Megan’s man—handsome as they come, even more striking than those celebrities online. And utterly devoted to her. How has she endured these five years?"
"What if he’s moved on?" Ivy Blue fretted. "What will Megan and little Ethan Reid do then?"
Samantha Green shook her head. "I doubt it. He seemed like a good man."
Megan set aside her zither and turned to the three of them. "Five years will pass in the blink of an eye. As long as we’re alive, we’ll reunite sooner or later."
By three months, little Ethan Reid had learned to roll over.
At six months, he could sit up steadily on his own.
By seven months, he was crawling and uttered his first word—"Daddy."
In that moment, Megan burst into tears. She recorded every precious milestone on her phone, hoping that once the five-year promise was fulfilled, Tristan Reid could witness their son’s growth the moment they reunited.
At the age of one, little Ethan Reid took his first steps.
Ivy Blue set the squirming toddler down on the ground as he kicked his legs, eager to walk. "Mama! Mama!" he babbled, wobbling unsteadily toward Megan.
Megan crouched nearby, arms wide open, ready to catch him. Little Ethan stretched out his tiny arms and tumbled straight into her embrace.
"Mommy, where’s Daddy?"
Megan cradled the two-year-old in her arms, planting a soft kiss on his rosy cheek. "When Ethan turns five, we’ll be with Daddy again. Until then, we can look at his picture whenever we miss him."
Ethan smothered the photo on the phone screen with slobbery kisses, leaving the strikingly handsome face smeared with drool.
That winter, the heaviest snowfall of the season blanketed the Tranquil Dawn Temple.
The moment Ethan opened his eyes, he scrambled into his clothes, tugged on thick snow boots, and dashed outside, bundled in a hat and scarf.
"Wow! So much snow! Battle-axe, you really weren’t lying to Ethan!"
He leaped straight into the freshly swept snow pile Lily had just finished clearing, disappearing completely beneath the thick white fluff.
Only his mischievous little eyes peeked out, his hat and scarf now dusted with snow.
Hands on her hips, Lily scolded, "Ethan, you little rascal! I just cleaned that up, and now you’ve made a mess everywhere!"
Ethan stuck out his tongue at her. "Then just sweep it again!"
He tried to dart away, but a slender, pale hand caught him by the collar. "Ethan, apologize to Lily."
His eyes darted around before he turned with a pout. "Okay, okay, Yunyun. Ethan won’t do it again."
Lily’s brow twitched. "Don’t you dare apologize to me. The moment you say sorry, I know you’re about to cause even bigger trouble. Megan, take your son away."
Megan shook her head helplessly. "Ethan Reid, did you hear that? No more mischief."
Ethan Reid nodded obediently and took Megan’s hand. "Mommy, can Ethan Reid go play down the mountain?"
"Only if you go with Samantha Green, and come back early, okay?"
"Okay! What does Mommy like? Ethan Reid will buy it for you!"
"What a sweet boy."
Lily’s lips twitched. If this kid was sweet, then no child in the world could be called mischievous.
Just as she thought that, Ethan turned back and stuck his tongue out at her.
"Ethan Reid, what are you doing?"
"Oh, Ethan Reid just thinks Xiaoyun looks so tired shoveling snow. Wanted to help her!"
Megan lovingly took off his hat and patted his head. "Ethan Reid is such a good boy."
Samantha Green walked in. "Alright, Megan, I’ll take Ethan down the mountain."
Megan kissed Ethan’s cheek. "No running off, understand? Listen to Samantha."
Ethan nodded solemnly. "Ethan Reid promises to be good. Bye now!"
He stood on tiptoe. "Mwah!"
Megan leaned down, turning her cheek toward him to plant a fragrant kiss.
Ethan Reid dashed to the nearby table, grabbed the backpack he had prepared the night before, and took Samantha Green’s hand as they headed out the door.
Watching the pair—one tall, one small—walk away, Megan’s lips curved into a soft smile.
Time had flown by in the blink of an eye. Ethan was already four and a half years old, which meant only six months remained until the agreed-upon deadline.
*Tingxiao, we’ll be seeing each other soon.*
Ethan tugged at Samantha’s sleeve. "Auntie Battle-axe, today’s Mommy’s birthday. Can you take me to the mall to buy her a present?"
Samantha blinked in surprise. "How did you know that?"
"I checked her account records and saw it."
She tapped his little head playfully. "You little rascal, using your smarts for things like this."
"Gotta keep my lady happy, right?" Ethan clambered into the backseat of the car on his own. "Let’s go, Auntie Battle-axe!"
Samantha chuckled. "I’ve officially become your chauffeur now, haven’t I?"
The roads were slick with snow, forcing them to drive slower than usual.
Four hours later, the car pulled up in front of Capitol City’s most luxurious department store, Yunshang.
Not wanting to be recognized, Samantha had swapped her usual temple robes for a down jacket. She carefully adjusted Ethan’s mask. "Our little Ethan is so handsome—better make sure no one tries to kidnap you."
Ethan Reid pouted behind his mask, his small mouth barely visible. "Oh please, you’re just scared Daddy will recognize me! The five-year agreement—just six more months to go!"
Samantha Green let out a soft sigh and patted his head. "Our little Ethan is always so well-behaved. Come on, Auntie will take you to buy a gift for Mommy."
Meanwhile, a sleek black Maybach pulled up in front of the department store.
Cameron Brooks stepped out and opened the rear door. A pair of polished leather shoes touched the pavement with precision as a tall, imposing figure emerged from the car.
Tristan Reid adjusted his cashmere coat and was about to stride into the building when his gaze landed on two figures approaching—one small, one tall.
The child’s eyes were strikingly beautiful, uncannily reminiscent of Megan.
Tristan froze, silently watching as the pair walked past him.
Ethan tugged at Samantha’s hand and whispered, "Auntie, that’s my daddy."
Samantha’s heart nearly leaped out of her chest—of course she knew.
"Aren’t you excited?"
Ethan shook his head. "Why should I be?" *I’ve hacked into the Zhan Group’s surveillance system plenty of times. Daddy really is handsome, though.*
"Ethan, what would you say to him when you finally meet him properly?"
Letting go of Samantha’s hand, Ethan suddenly turned and dashed toward Tristan. Tilting his head up, he beamed at the man. "Mister, you’re *so* handsome!"
