Chapter 101: Wings of Deception

While everyone inside the mall was busy with their own missions—

Four figures stood atop the mall’s rooftop.

They wore long cloaks that fluttered violently in the wind. Red masks covered their faces, each decorated with a white wing insignia carved across the surface.

One of them stepped forward slightly.

"Are you certain Indigo’s group is here?"

"Yes. I’m sure of it," another replied confidently.

A third tilted his head.

"How can you be so sure? We don’t even know the face behind Indigo’s mask."

"Enough," the fourth interrupted. "It doesn’t matter how he knows Indigo is here. What matters is our mission."

"Our mission is to make Indigo’s group clash with the Angelic Moon sect."

"Yes," another added. "Indigo will focus on them. His attention will shift toward Angelic Moon."

"And while they fight each other," the leader continued, "we’ll take control of Seoul."

A sinister chuckle escaped from behind their masks.

"He’s right. Let’s move."

In an instant—

All four of them vanished.

Back at the bracelet shop.

Jinhoo and Mira had finally finished choosing the bracelet. After paying at the cashier, they walked out of the store together. Mira carried the shopping bag, swinging it lightly as she walked.

She smiled brightly.

"I hope Oppa Donghyun likes it!"

"He probably will," Jinhoo replied with a gentle smile.

They walked toward the center of the mall.

Jinhoo stopped.

"Alright... where is everyone now?" he muttered, glancing around.

Then—

Not far from them—

BOOM!

A massive explosion erupted.

The entire mall trembled violently.

Glass shattered.

People screamed.

Jinhoo and Mira immediately turned toward the source of the explosion.

At the food store.

So-ah and Min-seo were still arguing.

The cashier had already prepared their orders but looked nervous as the two girls continued bickering.

Then—

The entire building shook violently.

Like a massive earthquake.

So-ah and Min-seo froze mid-argument.

They turned toward the entrance of the store.

Outside—

People were running in panic.

"Huh? What’s happening?" So-ah muttered.

Min-seo looked confused too.

Her eyes shifted toward the cashier who had placed their food on the counter.

Without hesitation, Min-seo placed money down and grabbed both of their orders.

She then grabbed So-ah’s arm.

"Let’s go see!"

"E-eh? But the order—"

"I paid already!"

They rushed out.

The cashier stared at the money.

"E-eh? Isn’t this too much...?"

He looked toward the two girls who had already left the store.

"Hey, your money is too much..." he muttered softly—intentionally too quiet to be heard.

After confirming they were gone, he grinned while clutching the cash.

"Hehe! Jackpot today!!"

At the clothing store.

Elvera had purchased an alarming amount of clothing.

She smiled sweetly as she paid for everything.

But then—

The mall shook violently.

She paused mid-step.

"Hm? It seems something big just happened~"

She calmly picked up her bags and walked outside.

At the cake shop.

Kim Gae-in was still frozen.

"Uh... Um..."

The cashier’s smile was beginning to stiffen.

"Uhm... Just make it seventeen!" Gae-in blurted out.

"Alright."

The cashier placed the number candles "1" and "7" on the cake.

Then—

The entire mall shook violently.

The glass display rattled.

Gae-in turned toward the entrance.

People were running past the storefront.

"Hm? What’s going on?"

"It seems like an earthquake," the cashier replied casually. "It happens sometimes."

Without another word, Gae-in grabbed the cake box and closed it securely.

"Hm, perfect! Alright, see you!"

She ran out of the store.

"E-eh!? Hey!! You haven’t paid yet!!" the cashier shouted angrily.

But another violent tremor shook the building.

Fear overtook irritation.

He quickly ducked under the counter.

At the center of the mall.

Smoke filled the air.

Debris scattered across the floor.

Jinhoo stood protectively in front of Mira.

Mira coughed lightly from the smoke.

"Huh... Who’s causing trouble now..." Jinhoo muttered in annoyance.

As the smoke slowly cleared—

Four cloaked figures emerged.

Red masks.

White wing insignias.

They laughed loudly.

"Hahaha!! We’re looking for Indigo! Where is he!?"

Jinhoo fell silent.

’They’re... looking for me? Wait...’

His eyes narrowed behind his casual expression.

’Isn’t that mask from the Angelic Moon mid-tier sect? How did they get those?’

Mira instinctively grabbed Jinhoo’s arm, frightened.

’I can’t leave Mira alone in this chaos...’

The four figures began throwing bombs in all directions.

Screams erupted throughout the mall.

One bomb flew directly toward Jinhoo and Mira.

Mira froze.

But Jinhoo calmly extended his hand.

A dark blue light materialized in front of him.

The bomb flew into it—

And vanished.

Swallowed like it had fallen into a black hole.

"Tch... They’re really annoying," Jinhoo muttered.

Right then—

"So-ah and Min-seo arrived, holding shopping bags."

"Jinhoo oppa!" So-ah shouted.

Jinhoo turned.

Once they reached him, he spoke calmly.

"Take Mira with you. There’s something I need to confirm."

"Eh? Uh... alright," So-ah replied.

Mira hesitated.

"Where are you going, Oppa?" Min-seo asked.

"Hm? Something."

With just one word—

Jinhoo activated his power.

His casual clothes dissolved into dark particles.

In their place—

His villain attire formed.

A black suit.

A long coat.

A dark cloak.

A black mask.

A black hat.

Everything complete.

In a blink—

He teleported.

A dark blue distortion appeared before the four masked men.

Indigo emerged.

"Indigo!! We’ve been waiting for you! We knew you were here!"

Indigo remained silent.

"I don’t care how you found out I was here. But you’re being extremely troublesome."

"Hahaha! Don’t be so angry! Do you really think you can defeat us?"

"That’s right! Our sect leader is extremely powerful!!"

Indigo smiled faintly behind his mask.

’Heh... I think I understand their plan. They want me and Angelica to clash. They probably don’t know that Angelica and I are currently allies.’

His eyes gleamed.

Without warning—

He teleported.

He appeared directly in front of one of them.

Before the man could react—

Indigo kicked him in the head.

CRASH!

The masked man flew backward, smashing into a wall. The concrete cracked instantly upon impact.

"H-hey! Aren’t you afraid that if our leader finds out about this, you’ll be crushed by her!?" one of them shouted fearfully.

"Is that so?" Indigo replied calmly. "By the way... are you really from The Angelic Moon?"

The four of them froze.

A flicker of hesitation passed between them.

"O-of course we are!"

Indigo’s smile widened beneath his mask.

’They’re complete idiots. Acting without thinking.’

His voice lowered slightly.

"Then tell me something. What is the true oath of Angelic Moon’s inner circle?"

Silence.

They glanced at each other.

One of them stammered.

"I-it’s... uh..."

Indigo disappeared.

In an instant, he reappeared behind the speaker.

He grabbed the man’s head and slammed him face-first into the marble floor.

CRACK.

"You don’t know it," Indigo said coldly.

The remaining two stepped back in fear.

Indigo adjusted his hat slightly.

"You stole those masks."

The air around him began to distort faintly.

A dark blue aura seeped outward.

"You’re not Angelic Moon."

The two remaining attackers panicked.

"R-run!"

They turned—

But Indigo raised one hand.

Space warped.

The two men froze mid-step.

Like invisible chains had wrapped around their bodies.

They struggled.

"What— what is this!?"

"You thought you could use Angelic Moon’s name to provoke me?" Indigo’s voice was calm... too calm.

The mall trembled again—

Not from explosions.

But from his power.

’I need answers.’

He tightened his grip on the invisible force.

"Who sent you?"

They remained silent.

Indigo sighed softly.

’Stubborn.’

With a flick of his fingers—

Dark blue light wrapped around them.

Their masks cracked.

Fell to the floor.

Revealing unfamiliar faces.

"Last chance."

One of them gritted his teeth.

"You’ll never—"

Indigo’s aura intensified.

The man screamed as the pressure increased.

"Alright! Alright!!" the other shouted desperately. "We were hired! We were told to cause chaos and lure you into fighting Angelic Moon!!"

"By who?"

"We don’t know his real name! He just calls himself ’The Overseer’!"

Indigo narrowed his eyes.

’The Overseer...’

That name meant nothing to him.

But the strategy—

It was clever.

If Indigo clashed publicly with Angelic Moon—

Seoul would descend into chaos.

And someone else would take advantage of it.

A third party.

He released them.

They collapsed onto the ground, gasping.

"Get out of my sight," Indigo said coldly.

Without hesitation, they scrambled to their feet and ran.

Indigo stood alone in the center of the damaged mall.

Smoke drifted around him.

People were evacuating.

In the distance—

He could sense Angelic Moon’s energy signature.

They had probably felt the disturbance.

’This is getting complicated...’

He looked toward where Mira and the others had gone.

’I can’t let this interfere with Donghyun’s birthday.’

With a soft exhale—

His villain attire dissolved.

Moments later—

Yoo Jinhoo stood there instead.

Just an ordinary young man.

Walking calmly toward his friends.

As if nothing had happened.

But behind that calm expression—

His mind was already moving.

’The Overseer... Who are you?’

Because whoever it was—

Had just declared a silent war.
