The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 66: Gwen’s bloodline
It didn’t take long for the three of them to head back down the mountain. In fact, Kai just teleported them right back to their inn, well, the inn he and Gwen were staying at, not Amaya. Although she would be staying with them now.
"Wait a minute. I didn’t really register anything because of our situation, but you can use magic? Wait, no, scratch that. You’re a Tier-10 Warrior?!"
Amaya was shocked by Kai’s true strength and was confused. She thought that people with his strength would either be an S-Rank adventurer by now, or at least have some important role in the kingdom. Although there are other rank-10 warriors and mages, the number of them is vastly smaller than Tier 9 and below.
Kai explained his reasoning, and Amaya accepted it. Soon, they arrived back at the Guild.
"Hello, everyone!" Kai greeted them as he walked into the place.
"Yo, what’s up, man?"
"Did your quest go well?"
Kai nodded. "Sure did."
"Hey, are you joining us in the expedition a few days from now?"
"Yup. Already got my spot reserved." He gave the person a thumbs-up.
"Sweet!"
"Well, aren’t you a people person." Gwen nudged Kai’s arm.
"It feels nice to socialize."
The three of them turned in their quest and sold the wendigo, frost monkey, and frost wolf bodies, earning a great bit of money: silver and gold, no cooper.
Amaya was also permanently added to their party, which meant they needed only one more person to be recognized as a C-Rank adventurer for their party rank to go up, whether that was from Gwen or another member joining.
Kai wanted to take on another quest, but the receptionist advised him not to since his party was going on the expedition. She told him that it was best to save their strength and avoid being injured, worn out, or even dying.
So, after doing everything they needed to do, they went back the the inn.

Life Status: Currently reminded of her past after seeing the Drake in its lair. Being born into the race of the dragonkin, Gwen was looked down upon because she wasn’t as talented as her peers. Because of this, she ran away from home to become an adventurer and join the hero academy. But after seeing the Drake, she remembered her horrible past and is now slightly depressed. She loves Kai, though. Her bloodlines are clashing too much and need to be stabilized.
Pregnancy Status: Not currently Pregnant.]
’Wait! D-Dragon?! What in the fuck?! Hold on. I didn’t know she was a dragon?!’
"G-Gwen?" Kai stuttered.
"Hmm?"
"You’re a dragon?"
She froze in place, looking Kai dead in the eyes like a deer in headlights. Her mind scrambled, trying to understand how he figured out that information. But as she saw the worried look on his face, she calmed down and explained everything.
"H-How did you know?" She asked, sitting on the bed next to him.
Amaya too listened in, resting her head on Kai’s lap as he started petting her.
"Your eyes and mana changed after I killed the drake. Although it was brief, your mana felt similar to it, not to mention you had the same eyes."
She sighed, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Well, to clarify, no, I’m not a dragon, I’m a Dragonborn, or Dragonkin, it doesn’t matter what you go by since they mean the same thing."
"What’s a dragonborne?" Kai asked, "Are you descended from dragons?"
"Eh, yes and no. You see, dragons are monsters, but unlike any other monster, they have something called a dragon’s heart, or dragon core, call it whatever you want. If a person consumes this heart, there is a chance that their body will undergo a transformation and resemble that of a dragon and get dragon-like power."
"But you don’t look like a dragon." Amaya pointed out.
"The resemblance can be switched on and off. Anyway, the odds of someone surviving such a transformation are very rare. So rare that it’s easier becoming a Tier-10 warrior, no, a hero, than it is a dragonborn."
"Then how did you become one?"
"I was born one. If a dragonborn mates with another dragonborn, they produce a dragonborn. But if a dragonborn mates with a regular race, then the offspring won’t be a dragonborn. But, unfortunately for me, it’s as if I’m not a dragonborn in the first place." Her face gave off a lot of emotion, and Kai could tell she was hurting.
"Can I ask why?"
"The Dragonborn live in a secret, hidden place called the Dragon Valley. It’s the home of all races that belong to the dragons. Dragons are intelligent creatures, the smartest of all monsters, and they recognized the Dragonborn as their own. There are three types of Dragons: Drakes, Wyverns, and Dragons. When a dragonborn is born, they have the blood of a dragon and have higher amounts of mana, stamina, strength, and enhanced senses."
’So that explains all the plusses she had on her stats.’ Kai thought to himself.
"But when they reach the age of ten, they awaken their dragon blood, allowing them to dragonify. We can’t turn into fully grown dragons by the way. It’s only our arms, legs, eyes, teeth, and we grow a tail, wings, horns, and get more powerful. But this varies." Her voice slightly cracked
"Because of the different dragons?" Amaya asked
"That’s right. If you eat the heart of a drake, wyvern, or dragon, then you’ll gain that specific attribute. If you mate with someone with a different attribute, then your child could get either or. My specific line has all three in their blood, so I should have awakened one after I reached ten."
"Should have?"
Gwen nodded. "That’s right, but I never did. Not even a fucking drake!"
"I know the difference between the monsters, but what would be the difference in a person?" He asked
"A drake attribute gives you the ability to shift your arms, legs, teeth, and enhance your senses. A wyvern gives you all of that, plus a tail and horns. A dragon adds on to that, giving you wings and a breath attack. Do you want to know what I got?"
"Nothing." Kai already knew the answer.
"That’s right, nothing."
