I let out a chuckle and shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly. "Well, to be honest, I'm totally neutral about it," I confessed, shooting a sideways glance at Celia. The topic itself was a sensitive one.

Celia's eyebrows raised, and a mischievous smile played on her lips. "I thought you would prefer if she slept with you?"

"I hope. But having her to do what I couldn't in the demon hunter organization and dealing with the senators was enough for me," I admitted.

It was true—I had my own battles to fight, and Mrs. Clea's involvement in the political realm had brought about some much-needed change. It was a relief to have her take charge in situations where I felt powerless.
