Chapter 1542 Solving minor problems

Due to how effectively Lex was multitasking, he had one of the most productive times he'd ever had inside the Inn. In fact, he realized that he should have been doing this from the start.

Splitting his mind and carrying out a dozen different tasks using projections or weak clones basically caused him no strain, but what he achieved was significant. As the Innkeeper, he was constantly having meetings one on one with many workers.

Many of them had been with the Inn from the start, and meeting them again allowed him to refresh their awe of the Innkeeper. But even more of them had never actually met the Innkeeper. With hundreds of thousands of workers at the Inn, managing the millions of guests, it was obviously impossible to have a relationship with all of them in a short period of time.

Yet now, by inviting them one at a time, Lex was slowly establishing that relationship between them and the Innkeeper. He also either praised them on their work so far, or offered them some guidance on how they could do things better.

While such a targeted interaction was not necessarily for the workers generated using the system, Lex had long since stopped doing that. He had been hiring more natural workers for years now, and while they caused the major issues, the difference between them was almost immediately perceptible.

Much like the Paladins and Diplo who had formed their operating bases within the Inn, there was a tribe of Elves who had more or less moved into the Inn entirely. They sustained their expenses by working in the Guild room, and then later on by having a large number of their members join the Inn.

Their history was a tragic one. Unlike most of their kin, they did not love nature, nor did they have a strong affinity for natural things. Instead, their zeal towards technology was so strong they practically worshipped it. They had mostly lived a nomadic life before coming to the Inn, but the moment they came to the Inn and saw the massive flying spaceship, they had turned this into their home.

So far, none of this had caused any problems. As workers they were skilled and obedient, and had their own strength to back themselves up. By joining the Inn, they had immediately bolstered its strength and added some diversity. Although most of their stronger members were in the Nascent realm, some of them were in the Earth Immortal realm, which back in the day was a great boost to the Inn.

The budding problem now, that Lex had detected before it became too big of an issue, was that as they were becoming more comfortable at the Inn, and shedding their former submissive and fearful personalities caused by a lifetime of living on the run, they were beginning to turn more aggressive.

The fear that had gripped their tribe for so long was now slowly morphing into hate and anger. With the feeling that they had now established themselves in a safe environment, and found themselves a backer, they were beginning to become more bold in their thoughts and actions.

Growth and change were inevitable, but as the Innkeeper, he needed to ensure that his workers understood that they could not discriminate against his guests! For those of their tribe who had not joined as workers he could do nothing, but they also needed to understand that having siblings, parents or friends as workers at the Inn did not give them leeway to breaking the Inns rules.

Fortunately, since Lex had detected this problem before it exploded into something serious, a one on one meeting with the workers from the tribe with the Innkeeper was enough to reign in their growing arrogance.

One good thing that came out of the elves' presence was that the Inns' ability to create high tech gear, or handle complicated machinery had increased manifold. Xeon, the drake refiner who was a genius at creating spirit tech, had improved drastically after interacting with the elves, and they were already working on creating the Inns' own spaceships.

Much like with the elves, there were signs of budding problems all over the Inn. Not a single one of them was too serious just yet, but if left unattended, had the potential to cause major issues down the road.

One such potential problem was the high density of Devils at the Inn. They were, by far, the most respectful and law abiding guests Lex had ever had at the Inn. They were polite, friendly, and served to create a harmonious environment at the Inn.

But hidden beneath their friendly facade was an ulterior motive, and one that might actually be extremely sinister. Unfortunately, for this, Lex saw no solution. After all, they never broke any rules.

Just as the Inn had the potential to link to any place in the universe, the realm Garvitz allowed the Devils to teleport anywhere that they were summoned. The Devils, taking advantage of their positive reputation at the Inn, often made deals with various guests, teaching them the formations or rituals needed to summon them on their home planets.

The thing was, once summoned, the Devils did not cause problems or go on a rampage. No, they conducted business. Whoever summoned them often got what they wanted and were happy with their deals.

But often, it was because they didn't know the true value of what they were offering.

Considering that this was consensual business, conducted legally outside the Inn, Lex had no grounds to stop it. No one was actually being harmed either.

The problem that Lex detected was that the Devils influence in the Origin realm was growing at an exponential rate as a result of this.

He wasn't sure what kind of problem this could cause, but for all their amiability, Lex never forgot that the Devils used humans to farm their demons. They weren't quite as docile as they appeared.

Unfortunately, for now, all he could do was keep an eye on them.
