The King of Urban Mercenaries-Chapter 1401 - 1405: Dividing Evenly
Although the Ten Generals agreed, Elder Qin was still firm, saying, "However, he must abide by some contracts. Otherwise, we cannot nurture someone who might become a white-eyed wolf."
"Rest assured, I’ll have the Generals prepare the contracts, then send them to me so I can print them out. After he signs them, I’ll send them back to you. How about that?" Lin Fei suggested.
"That’s fine, but Lin Fei, don’t try to be slippery. This is a straightforward transaction; not a single penny less will do!" Elder Qin reiterated, reminding Lin Fei once more.
Lin Fei was speechless. He replied, "General, is my reputation that bad? It’s not that serious, is it? I’m someone who keeps his word; how could I have any sinister motives!"
"Is that right? Then how did you rip off the Xia Family so badly? You knew this would happen, yet you threw a millionaire with gold bricks onto a deserted island. People like you are the most detestable. Beware of Xia Jiahe’s wrath towards you; it won’t be good for you in the future." Elder Qin pointed out.
Lin Fei chuckled and said, "What’s there to worry about? Our transactions aren’t every day, so there’s no need for concern."
"Oh, really? Don’t forget, you slept with his daughter. Beware of the father-daughter bond. If they both come at you, your little frame..."
"Damn it, General, can you not talk about this? Monitoring me every day is bad enough, but discussing it with me too is just evil. When are you going to remove the monitors on me? I don’t want to be spied on by you daily." Lin Fei responded.
"Get out of here, little Lin Fei. Do you think we want to watch you? It’s the same poses every day; we’re tired of it. I suggest you watch some movies and learn something new, otherwise, we really have no appetite left," Elder Sun interjected.
Lin Fei, exasperated, cursed, "You bunch of voyeurs, leave me alone. I’m done talking with you old geezers; you’re all a bunch of dirty old men. Goodbye!"
After saying this, Lin Fei hung up the phone and glanced at Xia Jiahe.
Xia Jiahe was stunned, looking at Lin Fei as if he were looking at a monster. After all, Lin Fei was just talking to the Ten Generals as if they were ordinary friends, just chatting and arguing. Was this even real?
Now Xia Jiahe truly doubted whether what Lin Fei said was true. Could the Ten Generals really be on such good terms with Lin Fei? It was unbelievable.
"Mr. Xia, the contracts will be sent over soon. You have a printer here, so I’ll just print it out. After you sign it, twenty percent of the shares will belong to the nation," Lin Fei explained the situation once again and asked Xia Jiahe a question since he had taken advantage of Xia Jiahe before, and feared he might not be trusted anymore.
But to Lin Fei’s surprise, Xia Jiahe seemed resigned to fate, like a chicken awaiting slaughter. Without asking any questions, he signed decisively, leaving Lin Fei somewhat stunned.
Lin Fei admired Xia Jiahe and dialed the Ten Generals again. To be honest, he really didn’t want to talk much with those old geezers, and their antics often left him at a loss for words. Even though they just said they’d remove the surveillance, he was still hoodwinked by the old timers who claimed they moved the monitoring elsewhere, leaving him no choice but to hang up and "flee."
"Hey, kid, what now? Are you done watching and want to discuss the next move you’ll use?" Elder Sun teased.
Lin Fei was speechless, retorting, "I’m talking business with you; stop messing around. The contract’s been sent, check if it’s suitable."
The Ten Generals immediately reviewed it, confirmed there were no changes, and acknowledged Lin Fei’s honesty. They nodded, "Very well. We’ll look after the Xia Family from now on; let Xia Jiahe rest assured. We’ll have a word with the Murong and Pang Families. I’m sure they’ll give us some face. That’s it, goodbye."
"Wait a minute! You haven’t answered my earlier question!" Lin Fei exclaimed.
Elder Qin then spoke, "Though I don’t approve of their actions, I have to say, focus on your cultivation. The quicker you advance to the cultivation realm, the sooner you can escape our surveillance, leading to a life of freedom. Good luck, Lin Fei."
With that, Elder Qin hung up, leaving Lin Fei speechless. He raised his middle finger to the sky, aware that the Ten Generals were probably watching him, and they, therefore, would see his gesture.
Meanwhile, in the residence of the Ten Generals, they were indeed watching Lin Fei, and upon seeing his raised middle finger, they burst into laughter, filling the place with laughter...
Back on Lin Fei’s side, he remarked, "Alright, your problem is solved. The Ten Generals have spoken, they’ll talk to the Murong and Pang Families. Your Xia Family can focus on developing itself, and the nation will support you. As for what you have to do, it’s all clearly written in the contract. Bye, Mr. Xia."
After saying this, Lin Fei left Xia Jiahe’s office directly. Xia Jiahe said nothing more, sitting down helplessly, reflecting on the past. He realized he might have really had issues before.
Ever since he met Lin Fei, it seemed everything followed Lin Fei’s pace, with Lin Fei leading him by the nose, leaving Xia Jiahe feeling helpless!
Like the contract situation, although he got the contract, in the end, the Xia Family was on the brink of ruin because of it. Yet Lin Fei was the key to resolving the crisis, essentially forcing him, as Lin Fei had long planned everything, calculating Xia Jiahe into it!
In the end, Xia Jiahe got nothing, with the twenty percent shares becoming the nation’s. He had nothing, and besieged by the other two families, the Xia Family became the weakest. Though they could rise again, on the flip side, thinking about it, Xia Jiahe gained nothing and suffered severe losses. How could he not reflect on himself!
The Xia Family was everything to Xia Jiahe, he always believed that. Today’s failure was his own doing; Xia Jiahe slumped on the desk, reflecting on his actions, ultimately concluding it was all because of Lin Fei...
Meanwhile, Lin Fei had returned home. After picking up his kid, he resumed his daily life. But today was different; he prepared a table full of dishes, indicating he would be leaving temporarily, as a form of apology...
