Chapter 170: A day in bed (1)

"Why is your chest red? Did you fight your way out of the court?" Hazel asked, touching the red mark on his chest.

"I might have," Tobias answered. "It doesn’t hurt. It can’t be as bad as your expression is making it seem."

"I wonder who would be so bold to harm the prince to keep him in the court. Was it your father?" Hazel questioned as Jeffrey was always eager to smack sense into Tobias.

"It might have been. He’s getting too old to hold me back. Don’t worry about the mark. Continue," Tobias said, more interested in her stripping him than the mark that would eventually go away.

"I will send Mary for something to put on it if it does not get better in a few hours. I don’t need anyone thinking that this was my doing," said Hazel, continuing to remove his shirt.

"What would be wrong with that? They should think I had a good time during my wedding night and the days after."

"You are ridiculous," Hazel said, shaking her head.

"And you yet you love me," Tobias teased. freewёbnoνel.com

"I do," Hazel admitted to it. "Maybe I am a fool. At least a happy fool. Why is it so hard to open," she muttered as she struggled with his pants.

Tobias touched her hand to end her struggle. "The smart Hazel doesn’t know how to take off a man’s pants?"

Hazel glared at Tobias for commenting. "I know how to! The button is just stuck. Ah ha," she smiled as the button finally moved. "I am smart."

"And for it, I shall repay the favour of you undressing me. Why have they picked these big annoying dresses for you? Hiding your body far beneath it," Tobias said, disliking the dress the palace had made for her.

The dresses Hazel brought from home suited her more.

"I will get rid of the dressmaker as soon as I am king."

"I like the dress. You are just annoyed that there is much for you to take off," said Hazel.

"I am," Tobias admitted, tugging on the strings at the front of her dress. "But it is also like opening up a nice present."

Hazel confidently stood still as Tobias got her out of the dress and other garments. Standing before him naked as she was born did not leave her embarrassed as she thought she would be with all the light in the room.

Tobias peered down at her, his hand settling on her cheek. He gently moved his thumb against her bottom lip, admiring the colour that lingered from what they painted her lips with for the wedding. Or perhaps the colour came from Hazel eating all the cherries alone.

To get his answer, Tobias leaned down to kiss her, savouring the faint cherry flavour that answered his question. He almost wanted to laugh at the fact she would have had to eat all when he was away for her lips to be this sweet with the taste hours later

Hazel tiptoed to help avoid Tobias having to strain himself down to kiss her. Her hands went around his neck to hold onto him. "Ow," she whined, surprised by him biting her lip.

"Sorry," she heard his muffled reply against her lips.

Tobias had gotten carried away for a moment. Too many hours had gone by since he last kissed her and now he decided that whenever they parted, he would kiss her as a greeting. He could never grow tired of kissing her when he enjoyed it this much.

From the feeling of her breath tickling his skin to how she matched his movement and didn’t shy away from the kiss. He loved it all.

Tobias moved from her lips to leave kisses down to her bare shoulder. Hazel was quick to tilt her head to give him the space he needed. She bit her lip not to laugh now as his hair tickled her cheek.

"I was in the sun. What if I am sweat-"

"You are not," Tobias answered. "You could be covered in dirt and I would still kiss your body."

"Now we’re just telling lies," Hazel answered. He couldn’t love her that much already. Not unless he was just some horny bastard in desperate need to touch her.

"Shall I toss you in the garden out front and test it?" Tobias joked.

"You try that and you will not share a bedroom with me for weeks. I dare you," Hazel challenged him. He might have had many great victories out at war but he had never faced a woman with thick books. A few hits to the head and he would never propose anything like that again.

He might not be able to ever think properly again if one of the books were to meet his head.

Tobias chuckled, going down to place his hands under her buttocks to lift her. "Day two and the threat of sleeping alone continues. You were so snuggled up on me last night that I know you wouldn’t last long without me by your side."

"I did not," Hazel replied. She wasn’t certain how she slept but she didn’t believe it was holding onto Tobias. "Where are you taking me?"

"You said I needed to get the confession out of you and I took it as a challenge. Here will help me," Tobias said, settling Hazel down on the small table with two candles placed on it near the window.

Hazel turned to look out at the window to the right of them where there were guards passing down below. "Are you out of your mind?" She asked. They would be spotted if they stayed here.

"They can’t see us. They have no reason to look up here and we can only see them from this angle," Tobias said, not concerned about the window. Hazel would only be seen when she leaned to look out of the window.

"This is not appropriate," Hazel said, trying to slide off the table, but she ended up stopped by Tobias pressing his thigh between her legs. She jilted, finding the mere touch to be pleasant. What was becoming of her?

"Not appropriate? That tells me that I must give you a nice lengthy lesson that the bed is not the only appropriate place. I’ll be a good tutor," Tobias promised. "Don’t be so against it until you try it. All you need to do is not let your voice get out of the room to bring attention to us. You don’t want Mary to think that her lady is hurt and she needs to come here."

Hazel looked to the window once more. They were high up on the second floor and it was a small chance the guards would look up here. She bit her lip as she considered it. She dared not tell Tobias to be quick as it would only lead to him going slow.

"I swear if I hear anyone speak of this, the throne will be without a king," Hazel said, pulling him close to give it a try.
