The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend-Chapter 648 - Divine Soul Transmigration
Han Wu called Commerce immediately. The latter answered promptly.
After listening to Han Wu’s explanation, he nodded and answered, “I do know of a shortcut to the Giant Shadow Civilization. Even so, the journey will take you ten Divine Civilization days.”
Ten days within the Divine Civilization equaled ten years in the outside civilization. Still, it was definitely much faster than the earlier estimate of 730 years. Han Wu had no better choice.
When Sun Qingnian heard the plan, he volunteered to come along. He wanted to aid his companions as well. Han Wu didn’t object. He then selected several of his most powerful units. Imperial College sent Xu Hai, Kerry, Saliya, and a few more to aid Han Wu. Ten years was neither long nor short.
For safety, Han Wu decided to take an additional precaution. He donned the helmet and transmigrated ahead of the main force to the Giant Shadow Civilization. He intended to prepare for the invasion and gather detailed intelligence.
Once he activated it, he found himself floating in the void. Then five options materialized before him.
[Transmigrate Consciousness: Cannot transmigrate with any Divine Power, Divine Aspect, Divine Authority, or Divine Jurisdiction. Retain a faint shard of memory. Cost: 50 million Faith Points.]
[Transmigrate Spirit: Can transmigrate with one Divine Power. Retain all memories. Cost: 50 million Divine Points.]
[Transmigrate Soul: Transmigrate with a sliver of the soul. May carry one Divine Power and one Divine Aspect. Retain all memories. Cost: 5 Divine Essence.]
[Transmigrate Sacred Soul: Transmigrate with a portion of the soul. May carry one Divine Power and one Divine Authority. Retain all memories. Cost: 500 Divine Essence.]
[Transmigrate Divine Soul: Transmigrate with a fragment of the soul. May carry one Divine Power and one Divine Jurisdiction. Cost: 50,000 Divine Essence.]
Only one transmigrated entity could exist within a sector at a time. Since his task involved reconnaissance for the invasion, the mission would naturally be more difficult. Thus, he chose to transmigrate his Divine Soul, the highest option.
He possessed many Divine Powers but only two Divine Jurisdictions: Duel and Conversion. He needed to choose one carefully before pairing it with a suitable Divine Power.
Duel focused on survival in combat. It thrived on endless battle, and every fight would permanently increase his strength. It leaned toward the physical aspect.
Conversion could convert any form of energy into another. Energy-based attacks would lose their threat, and he could change them at will. It was more suited for non-physical aspects.
Both were excellent, yet he had to consider the weight of this mission. It would be extremely difficult, so he ultimately chose Duel. With that decision made, he dismissed Divine Powers that specialized in energy-based attacks and selected Undying as the perfect complement.
After confirming his choices, he expended 50,000 Divine Essence and transmigrated.
Han Wu opened his eyes in the Giant Shadow Civilization and tried to sort through the strange, foreign memories flooding his mind. In this civilization, his name was Hanwu. He was eighteen years old and a young master of the Kokkai family in the Giant Wood Village.
Today marked his coming-of-age ceremony. To prove himself, he had to leave the village and slay giants alone. The bigger the giants he slew, the greater the reward from his family. Subsequently, greater rewards meant more resources as well.
Yet someone within the family didn’t want him to succeed and had sent ninjas to assassinate him. The original Hanwu had died in the attack, unaware of the reason. The memories ended there.
“Giants and ninjas... Doesn’t look too bad.” He organized the information in his mind, and a simple interface appeared before him.
[Name: Kokkai Hanwu]
[Strength: Apprentice (Ranks: Apprentice, Adept, Master, Shadow)]
[Nin: 3 (Ninjutsu proficiency)]
[Tai: 6 (Taijutsu proficiency)]
[Gen: 2 (Genjutsu proficiency)]
[Wisdom: 4 (Experience and Intellect)]
[Power: 5 (Physical Strength)]
[Speed: 5 (Speed and Reaction Speed)]
[Control: 5 (Chakra Recovery Speed)]
[Seal: 4 (Speed and Accuracy of Hand Seals)]
[Skill Ranks: E, D, C, B, A, S]
[Taijutsu: Collapsing Fist D, Steel Palm E]
[Ninjutsu: Clone E, Substitute E, Transform E]
[Hijutsu: Water Style: Black Water Bullet D]
[Divine Power: Undying. The body functions at ten times its normal capacity. All wounds can heal within a short period. Dismemberment and fatal wounds regenerate at a slower but steady rate.]
[Divine Jurisdiction: Duel. During battle, all parameters increase. The host will enter combat flow more easily, and their skills will be enhanced. Current progress: 0%]
When he studied the information on the interface, Hanwu frowned. Even though he was the young master of the Kokkai family, his skills and abilities were pitifully weak. None of his parameters exceeded an average of six, the minimum required to qualify as a ninja.
With stats like this, any giants he encountered would've killed him. Why would anyone want to employ ninjas to assassinate him? Whoever wanted him dead had wasted their money. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Still, he had already transmigrated there. Complaining would only waste the 50,000 Divine Essence he had spent.
“At least the family background isn’t too bad. We have a hijutsu,” Hanwu muttered, trying to comfort himself.
Once his thoughts settled, he recalled his mission to kill giants and bring them back to his family to complete the ceremony.
The stronger and taller the giants, the greater the reward in resources and treasures. If he wanted information about the evil God and the Reaper Seal, he would have to push himself to the limit.
He left the forest to find giants to test his strength. The trees thinned, and he stepped onto an open plain. Without anything obstructing his view, he saw giants of varying heights wandering aimlessly across the plain.
Their faces were vacant, and one look was enough to tell they lacked intelligence. Yet according to his inherited memories, these giants had once belonged to the Giant Kingdom across the sea before exile cast them out.
Hanwu chuckled. He would never have guessed that the giants were technically returnees with prestigious overseas backgrounds.
A few giants nearby noticed him observing them. Without hesitation, they instinctively charged toward him.
Hanwu decided to test his powers. Drawing on his inherited knowledge, he made a series of hand seals and used Clone. A duplicate materialized beside him and ran toward the other end at his command.
The giants couldn’t distinguish the real from the fake, and half of them chased after the clone. The remaining three locked onto Hanwu himself.
Hanwu quickly made another series of hand seals and used Substitute. A wooden log appeared where he had stood, and the charging giants crashed into it and toppled over one another in a tangled heap.
Dust billowed everywhere, and Hanwu landed safely on the back of one fallen giant. His memories told him that a giant’s weak point lay at the nape of its neck. He gathered his strength and used Collapsing Fist on the giant he was standing on.
A sharp succession of cracks rang out, as if bones had splintered under immense pressure.
He suddenly noticed that the giant he was standing on emitted a lot of heat before burning away into nothingness. Only ashes remained, scattering on the wind.
A white orb the size of his thumb fell to the ground. Up close, it resembled a brain. That was the giant’s essence and proof of the kill.
He dispatched the other two and retrieved two more white orbs. According to his inherited memories, the number and size of the orbs directly correlated with a giant’s height.
The three orbs in his hand were the weakest. If he returned with only those, he suspected that his family would exile him and strike his name from the family registry.
The Kokkai family possessed a unique hijutsu and guarded their prestige fiercely. If he wanted to succeed in the ceremony and obtain abundant resources and support afterward, he needed larger orbs and many more of them.
Fortunately, the plain offered no shortage of targets.
