The King's Unbreakable Wife-Chapter 321: Queens stick together (2)
Chapter 321: Queens stick together (2)
With Annalise and Tobias backing Hazel where needed, the group was able to vote on having a truce between the two lands since no one wanted to fight or send their beloved sons to fight.
It was agreed upon that to be sure Annalise and her people did not go back on the truce, she would have to marry Rafael. Hazel felt bad the couple needed to rush being married to have the truce done but this was the only way some fears would go away.
Hazel stayed with Tobias while the others engaged in another conversation before they would have to part. Hazel could not stop smiling as she was impressed with herself. She hadn’t done much compared to Annalise but she was proud of how she allowed her opinions to be heard.
"You did well," Tobias complimented Hazel. He had been worried for nothing. There was one fool who interrupted her and Tobias saw red for a moment, but everything else went well. "Now, can we please return to the palace where it is safe? Somewhat safe," he corrected himself.
"We can leave now. I would prefer the comfort of my library to do some work. We must tell the others goodbye first," Hazel replied.
Tobias stood up first, offering his hand to Hazel. He looked around for where his friends had gone. He could hear Rafael speaking to someone outside the room but he didn’t see Edgar now, nor had he noticed when Edgar slipped away.
Tobias couldn’t look for Edgar now since he had to take Hazel back to the palace. Edgar must have returned to his estate to be with his pregnant wife. The least he could do was say goodbye.
Hazel looked ahead at Rafael and Annalise standing together when she walked out of the meeting room. She wished to spend more time with Annalise when she returned to Lockwood. Hazel wanted to be close to Annalise, not just because she was going to marry her husband’s friend, but because Annalise seemed like a good fit for her group of friends.
While Annalise didn’t use the title of queen, they were still in the same position. Hazel would love it if they would be close enough to offer each other advice.
Hazel approached Annalise to question her about the headache of a meeting they had been in.
Annalise welcomed being able to let her feelings about the meeting out. The lands were so different for the men here to look down upon her. "I have never been in a room with men like that. Unfortunately, I will experience more meetings like this as I take over from my father. It was a good test of not using violence when annoyed."
Deep down, Hazel wished Annalise would have used a bit of violence. Those fools needed to be put in their place and who better to do it than a woman? "You might not believe it, but I wish I could send those in the court to the dungeon so I could get rid of them. Tobias wouldn’t agree to it though he loved the idea. Our dungeon is almost full at the moment. When you return, I shall give you a proper palace tour."
There was much to celebrate the next time the couple would be in court. By then, it should be a bit evident that they were expecting a child. The kingdom was already told the news but Hazel wasn’t showing for those who doubted she could have a child to believe the news yet.
Annalise wanted to repay the queen’s kindness by giving a tour of the border. It was a relief that the queen was so welcoming of her and did not see her as a barbarian. "And I will give you a good tour when you come to the border. I wish for you to be safe and enjoy awaiting the arrival of your child. Should you need help getting rid of anyone, please send it to me. Even if it is to beat the king."
Hazel smiled as Annalise was without fear to say this next to Tobias. She would take up the offer. "I will and should anyone cause you trouble around the kingdom, you can use my name or send word to the palace. Oh, you can have this."
Hazel took off a special necklace for the Castro queen which showed the royal family’s symbol. Though there was going to be a truce, Annalise would still face troubles when she walked around the kingdom. "Anyone who sees this should know that you are close to the royal family and should they mess with you, they should expect us to come their way. A little help please."
Tobias helped Hazel to take off the necklace and handed it to Annalise. With the stories he had been hearing about Annalise, he wondered if it was such a good idea for Hazel to be friends with such a chaotic woman.
Annalise was said to be a good fighter and Tobias didn’t need her teaching Hazel how to literally throw him out of their bedroom.
Hazel and Tobias bid goodbye to Rafael and Annalise as their carriage returned first.
"You are that happy to have made a friend?" Tobias questioned Hazel as she could not stop smiling.
"No. I am just enjoying being out of the palace and what occurred today. As much as it was a headache to get them to agree to a truce, I feel relaxed now. I always feel good when I get to do my part as queen. It is exciting," said Hazel.
It felt like she was helping to take some of the work off of Tobias’s shoulders so he wouldn’t be so busy and they could spend time together.
Tobias thought of it as the opposite since he hated having to come here. "The things that excite you confuse me. Our carriage is here."
Tobias helped Hazel do the steps to enter their carriage. Before someone else might drag him to look over something else in the court, he wanted to leave with Hazel so he could continue preparing the room for their child.
Hazel had gotten quite used to Tobias treating her like she was glass. She didn’t need help to walk down a few steps or enter a carriage but she accepted it because she found his gestures to be sweet.
Returning to the palace didn’t feel like it once did before. She looked forward to returning since there was a lot to be done and later today, she was going to meet with Linda to celebrate her engagement.
"There is nothing to feel," Hazel said as Tobias touched her once more.
"I still enjoy doing it," Tobias replied. He could hardly wait for the time the doctor said he could feel the baby moving around.
He had to wait a while for it to happen and he wouldn’t dare say again that he was waiting for Hazel to get bigger. She had not been going easy on him and asked him to leave when he annoyed her.
’They must hurry to come out. We should have three at once," said Tobias.
"Are you mad?" Hazel asked. Why would they have three children at once? As much as Hazel wanted many children, she didn’t want them all at once.
"Edgar thinks Alessandra will have two so we must beat him and have three. Why are you pinching me?" Tobias asked, looking down at her fingers failing to hurt him.
"I am not going to have three children at once just so you can beat Edgar. We are not in competition so get over it. I’m sorry," Hazel apologised to the baby. "I hope you can put up with your father like I do."
