The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!-Chapter 239 - 08: Brotherhood_2
Chapter 239: Chapter 08: Brotherhood_2
"Are you kidding me?" Jones questioned.
"No, I’m not kidding." Adelle quickly shook his head.
"So, if the other party gets injured, I’m not responsible?" Jones had already made up his mind to kill at least one or two. *He felt insulted.*
Adelle paused for a moment, then slowly smiled, pulling Jones along while saying, "Did you misunderstand something? Why would you think you need to be responsible for anything?"
"There are bound to be injuries in wrestling, aren’t there?"
"Yes, but it’s definitely not what you think." Adelle smiled as he said, "The others haven’t arrived yet. Please wait here for a moment and have a drink first. What would you like? Tea or alcohol? I suggest alcohol. I have some good stuff."
Adelle led Jones to the sofa and then turned to walk towards the bar.
Jones took a deep breath and slowly sat on the sofa, looking around. Dora stood beside him.
A bright, spacious, and comfortable living room. It matched the overall decor of the castle, primarily in white and gold, with various intricate and luxurious sculptures. Circular sofas, a wine cabinet, a bar counter, eight kinds of pastries on the central coffee table, and decorations including paintings, weapons, and crafts hanging on the walls. There was also a gigantic sheepskin map of the Kolin Peninsula, with a pair of decorative armors placed in each corner.
This place was much more impressive than Count Dracula’s study.
"So, have you decided what to drink?" Adelle had already uncapped a bottle.
"I’ll just have the one in your hand," Jones said softly.
"Good choice! This is Aile." Saying that, Adelle began pouring the drink.
"Isn’t Aile human alcohol?"
"Yes. Have you heard that fool Bailey talk about his magic to refine blood alcohol? Refined blood alcohol tastes just like pure alcohol. The place of origin is essential for alcohol. If it’s not good, why would I drink it directly? I have a way of processing it that’s a hundred times better." Taking out a small jar, Adelle smiled and shook it at Jones, then scooped out two spoonfuls of powder and added them to the two poured glasses. "With this, Blood Clan members can drink it and keep the original flavor. But for now, it can’t be mass-produced; it’s just for personal enjoyment. This bottle is for you."
"No, thank you. I don’t really drink."
"That’s too bad." Putting away the small jar, Adelle approached Jones with two glasses, placing one in front of him. "Have a drink to relax. You seem to have some aversion to me."
"Do I?" Jones asked in return.
Sitting on the sofa beside Jones, Adelle swirled his glass and said softly, "Yes, I can see it clearly. But it’s okay, that’s normal. We were complete strangers, and suddenly, I invited you to join my brotherhood. Even I find it somewhat... abrupt. But it’s okay; we can take our time. *I have confidence.*"
Saying that, Adelle raised his glass towards Jones. "Cheers."
Jones raised his glass in understanding. "Cheers."
The two glasses clinked together, making a crisp sound.
"Try it; if you like it, I can always provide more elixir." Saying that, Adelle took a sip.
Jones also took a sip, finding it sweet and quite good.
"Do you like it?" Adelle looked at Jones expectantly.
"It’s not bad, but I really don’t drink much," Jones replied softly. "My father won’t allow me to drink before I’m a hundred years old or limits me to drink very little, at least not to get drunk."
"Your father..." Adelle took a deep breath and smiled. "Do you still listen to your father that much?"
"What else?" Jones replied in return.
"I’ve heard you’re the Lich King’s adopted son, is that true?"
"Yes."
"I don’t know much about the Lich King, but I feel the Lich King is at least no worse than a prince of the Blood Clan. As his adopted son, your status isn’t lower than mine. And your biological father... he is just an Earl. Why do you listen to him?"
"Because he is my father."
"Alright." Adelle shrugged. After a brief silence, he continued, "Let me clarify our relationship here. I want you to join my brotherhood, but there are many types of brotherhood members. The vast majority are, frankly, just my minions. But you, I hope you are a true brother. We are equals."
Jones quietly watched Adelle.
After a pause, Adelle continued, "You can see, actually the others have arrived, but they are in different places. Only you are sitting here with me, savoring wine. Those underestimating folks don’t understand the importance of ’Lich King’s adopted son,’ but I do. You will eventually become a key figure in the Blood Clan; it’s just a matter of time."
"So, are we forming a temporary alliance of interests?" Jones asked.
"For now... you could say that," Adelle answered with a smile. "But in the long run, I hope it’s more than just interests between us."
"What do you want?"
"No specific goal for now, but there will always be a need. The birth rate of the Blood Clan has always been low, but the prince-level Blood Clan birth rate is not low. The Sambo family has many descendants, legitimate children, illegitimate children, a whole bunch; but as you’ve seen, the white castle of ’Hilde’ only has seven in total. We need strong allies more than children from other families. Otherwise, when we come of age, we might be driven out, or even lose the name Sambo."
