The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!-Chapter 296 - 37: Adelle’s Troubles
Chapter 296: Chapter 37: Adelle’s Troubles
"What else did he tell you?"
"Nothing, he just asked me to give you this envelope. He didn’t say anything else. What I just told you is the truth. I didn’t even know he’s no longer in the room. How could I know anything?"
Jones looked down at the envelope in his hand, reaching out to open it and see what was inside.
"No!" The goblin boss hurriedly reached out to stop him.
Jones stared blankly at the goblin boss.
Lowering his voice, the goblin boss said mysteriously to Jones, "Open it later, not here."
"What exactly is inside?" Jones felt confused.
"I don’t know either, but I know quite a few people are looking for him. Several people have come here asking about him in the last few days. It might be something very important. I am taking a big risk." While saying this, the goblin boss made a money gesture and laughed sneakily.
Jones immediately understood, quickly reached into his pocket, and pulled out a few gold coins to hand over.
The goblin boss seemed a bit reluctant but took them anyway.
...
In the alley, a group of the Blood Clan was still listening cautiously.
"Didn’t anyone give him money when you questioned that goblin before?"
Several members of the Blood Clan looked at each other and shook their heads, "No, you never mentioned giving him money."
"Oh heavens! What are you good for! It’s common knowledge to use money when dealing with goblins, isn’t it?"
"What should we do now? Give him money now?"
The leader of the Blood Clan raised his hand in anger, threatening to hit. The other members shrank back quickly.
After a moment, the leader of the Blood Clan said, "What’s the point of giving it now? He probably doesn’t know anything else. You two, go snatch what Young Master Jones has! It might be a clue!"
"Rob Young Master Jones?" The two assigned members were stunned, "Isn’t that not good?"
"Yeah, Young Master Jones is a member of Young Master Adelle’s fraternity, isn’t it bad for us to make a move?"
"It’s best to find someone else to do it."
"And what was the result of finding others before?" the Blood Clan leader scolded, "The result is that nothing has been solved until now! Just you two go! Cover your faces, and don’t appear in front of Young Master Jones later! Even though he’s a higher-ranking Blood Clan, he’s still underage. Can’t you handle it?"
Helplessly, the two designated lackeys could only nod.
...
Leaving the inn, Jones stood on the street corner, looking down at the envelope in his hand.
"Open it later? Return to Giant Snake City? What happened to Adolf? Is someone investigating him?"
For a moment, Jones didn’t know what to do.
From Giant Snake City to Hilde, it takes several hours back and forth. Jones originally came specifically to find Adolf. But he didn’t even get to meet him, didn’t accomplish anything, and only got this envelope.
"What should I do now? Go back to open the envelope? Or go find Adelle? Today isn’t the fraternity meeting day, is Adelle free? The armor and weapons were already arranged to be delivered the day after tomorrow, and now I don’t have much reason to find him... Maybe I should discuss Adolf’s matter with him."
Saying so, Jones, holding the envelope, started walking in the direction of the Adelle family.
Yes, walking. Although the Adelle family is in Hilde, it’s on the mountain in Hilde. The distance, though not far, is not close either. Ordinarily, Jones should have just turned into a bat and flown over, but he didn’t. Because he was hesitating, hesitating about whether to directly show Adelle the contents.
The night in Hilde was bustling as always, with people coming and going on the streets.
Jones walked alone, passing by pedestrians. freewёbnoνel-com
"Maybe I should find a place to open it and take a look first. What if... if I let Adelle see directly, would it harm Adolf? After all, I am not clear about the relationship between the two of them."
Looking left and right, Jones stealthily slipped into a narrow alley, quietly finding an unnoticed corner.
"Take a peek first, see what it is before deciding."
Just as Jones was about to open the envelope, he suddenly felt something, his eyes snapped wide, and he quickly turned aside.
Almost simultaneously, a bat formed from a Blood Clan descended from the sky, its claws catching the spot where the envelope had been, grabbing nothing but air.
"Who is it!" Jones screamed, extending his claws and fangs.
The bat that missed circled above his head and landed on one side of the alley, transforming into a Blood Clan wearing a black cloak, face covered, silently observing Jones. The mask looked patchy, like it was torn from somewhere in a hurry.
"Young Master Jones, please hand over what you’re holding." From behind Jones, another Blood Clan appeared. Also dressed in a black cloak, the face was covered with a black cloth.
The two of them guarded the ends of the alley, one in front and one behind.
"You know me?" Jones quickly pressed against the wall, hiding the envelope behind him.
"No, we don’t know you!" The Blood Clan with the patchy cloth quickly said.
"But you just called me ’Young Master Jones.’"
"No! We really don’t know you!" The patchy cloth Blood Clan tried to argue.
The black-clothed Blood Clan on the other side shouted sternly, "Shut up!"
"So you do know me." Jones raised an eyebrow, looked at the two with suspicion: "You know me, but don’t dare let me know who you are? I don’t know many people in Hilde."
