The Lustful Villain: Every Milfs and Gilfs are Mine!-Chapter 66. I’m Sorry I’m Late, I Was Protecting Lily (Lie)
The demon’s clawed hand was already moving, cutting through the air so quickly that there was no room for error. Helena had her arms up, and a barrier spell was forming around her hands.
But Rex could see through his foresight that the barrier wouldn’t hold. Not against something that had just ruined Helena’s Flame Lightning Storm without a second thought.
Rex did what he had to do right away.
"Fuck it... here goes nothing!"
He used his telekinesis to grab the demon’s arm in the middle of a swing from the roof, putting as much force into the hold as he could, and the effect was instant. Kruger’s arm came to a halt, seemingly trapped in a vise, and he ceased his forward movement less than a foot away from Helena’s face.
The demon growled and looked up with its black eyes, looking for the person who had stopped it.
Helena stumbled back, gasping, and her barrier spell broke when she realized she didn’t need it. She saw Rex on the roof, and her face showed a mix of relief and confusion.
"R-Rex...?" Helena didn’t ask any questions inside her head, but she was relieved that someone had helped.
Rex didn’t give the demon time to get its bearings. He looked around the ruined square and began to make a list of everything he could see.
There were pieces of broken stone from walls that had fallen down, uprooted fence posts, a piece of wood from a cart that had been destroyed, and the thick trunk of a decorative oak tree that had been half-knocked over by the explosions that happened earlier.
Everything turned into bullets.
He pulled with both hands, so to speak, using the full range of his telekinetic powers. The piece of wood rose first and spun once before Rex drove it into the demon’s back like a battering ram.
The sound of the impact was like a tree falling in a forest, and it sent Kruger stumbling forward three full steps.
"This seems fun enough to play with that." Rex smirks.
Before the demon could get up, Rex threw three broken stone slabs from the square’s rubble. The first hit Kruger in the shoulder and turned him to the side.
The second hit him in the ribs, and the sound of breaking bones could be heard even from the roof. The third hit him right in the head, and the force was so strong that a normal person would have broken their neck.
Kruger fell down. He didn’t fall, but he did stagger, and his regeneration was clearly working harder than before to keep up with the damage that was happening.
Rex pushed harder. He grabbed the half-fallen oak tree and pulled it completely out of the ground, roots and all, sending a cloud of dirt into the air.
The tree was by far the heaviest thing he had tried to lift since he unlocked telekinesis. He could feel the strain of it pulling at the edges of his focus, but it held.
The tree swung in a wide arc and hit Kruger in the side like a huge club, knocking him completely off his feet.
Kruger was on the ground for a short time.
"Grrggghhhhh...!!! BASTARDSSSS...!!!" Kruger knew what was attacking him, but he still couldn’t prove it.
Diana took that chance without being told. Three arrows flew in quick succession, each one hitting the demon’s exposed throat, where the skin was a little thinner than the rest.
They drew the dark ichor that served as blood, and Kruger roared as he tried to claw them out.
By that time, Helena had gotten her balance back. While the demon was still clawing at his throat, she shot a bunch of Ice Shards at him.
The frozen projectiles hit his arms and chest, slowing down his regeneration just enough to make a difference.
But just barely enough...
Kruger put one huge hand on the cobblestones and pushed himself up. The arrows had already come out of his healing throat.
He shook himself like a wet dog, sending things flying all over the place. The wounds from the stone slabs were healing.
The bruises from the wood were already going away. It sounded like the tree had broken three of his ribs, but they were slowly coming back together with loud pops.
"EVERYTHING YOU DID TO ME...!!! IT’S ALL...!!! USELESSSSS!!!" Kruger screamed.
Rex watched the regeneration with squinted eyes. He had hoped that hitting the demon with a lot of damage in a short amount of time would stop its healing ability, giving the others enough time to find a real weak point.
It looked like Kruger’s body was getting better faster the more damage it took.
He realized that he needed to approach things differently this time.
"Hey, system, is that what my infinite regeneration would be if I get one?" Rex asked the system first.
[YES! OP!]
"That makes me motivated to raise their desire in this situation then." Rex cracked both his fists. "Alright, let’s just do it!"
Rex jumped off the roof and used his telekinesis to soften his landing in the middle of the square. When he stood up straight, dust flew up around his feet, and the sound of his arrival made everyone turn to look at him.
Elliot looked like he had seen a ghost. "Rex?! What are you doing here?! I thought you were—"
"Protecting Lily," Rex said, cutting him off before the question could get out of hand. "She’s safe... for now."
"She’s locked in her room..." He looked around at the state of the group and made an appropriate apologetic face. "I’m sorry that I’m late."
"I heard that she was attacked by a bandit, and I had to make sure no one got to her first."
Helena smiled in relief. "Thank you, Rex... I appreciate that a lot of you protect Lily."
"It’s okay." Rex nodded.
It was a completely reasonable reason for his absence, and it connected his late arrival to something that would resonate with everyone in the Starlight family.
Lily was one of them. He would always put her safety first.
Elliot began to say something else, but when he tried to move forward, his leg gave out. He caught himself on a broken wall and was breathing through his teeth.
Rex could see the blood soaking through his shirt from where he had crashed through the shop wall. Kruger’s backhand had hurt a lot.
The impact left Kruger with a few broken ribs, possibly a dislocated shoulder, and a full-body ache that lasted for days.
Kruger laughed in a low, wet voice from thirty meters away. His black eyes were fixed on Rex with a new kind of interest.
"Would you look at that!? Another shit comes out of hiding!"
Rex didn’t pay attention to him and went back to the group. Helena was standing, but she looked pale.
It was clear that her magical reserves were low from all the casting. Diana had come down from the roof and was standing close to Evelyn.
Evelyn appeared to be the most intact of the four, but she continued to roll her shoulder, suggesting that Kruger’s ground slam had caused more damage than she was admitting.
Rex looked straight at Evelyn. "Are you feeling alright...? Can you still keep going?"
"I’m fine."
"I need your help then."
She looked him in the eye, and he could tell she was thinking. "Do you have a plan?"
"It’s quite simple, actually. You and I fight Kruger head-on while Helena and Diana hit him from a distance with everything they have."
"We keep him moving and off balance so his regeneration doesn’t have a chance to catch up."
"And what if that doesn’t work?" Evelyn asked.
"We think of something else." Rex replied, "But I would prefer to attempt the simple method first rather than die trying."
Evelyn nodded slowly. She was already getting into a better position, reading the battlefield like a reincarnator with combat experience would.
Rex put it away after noting how well it worked. "Alright, let’s also look out for each other."
Rex looked at Diana and Helena. "I need both of you two to support us with every range attack that you two have to slow his regeneration or maybe... cancel out his attacks."
Elliot, as expected, tried to stand up straighter. "I’m fighting too."
"No," Rex said, and he said it in a way that made it clear he didn’t want to hear any more. "You’re injured, Elliot."
"If you go back in there, you’ll die, and that won’t help anyone." Rex tried so hard not to roast him after every word he spoke.
Elliot’s pride and common sense were clearly at odds with each other, and it was a closer fight than Rex would have liked. Evelyn then put her hand on Elliot’s arm for a moment, and his face changed.
"He’s right," she said softly.
Elliot blew out through his nose and then looked at Rex with a look that was almost respectful. "Okay... but I’m not going to sit here and do nothing."
Rex said, "Then give me your sword."
He was surprised by that.
Elliot blinked. "My sword?"
Rex said, "Mine’s upstairs," which was a lie, but it made sense because he hadn’t been carrying one when he came down from the roof.
"I can’t fight that thing with my bare hands."
