Claire acts out

The energy in the room was tense as Claire slowly picked herself from the floor. She looked so different. A bit thinner and void of emotion. I wanted to remind her of how she had once put me in this same dungeon as punishment and also how she and Luke had abducted me and kept me in the bunker and hut for a month. I wanted to tell her that this was payback for what she had done to me but I bit my tongue.

She smiled deviously at me, taunting me. She expected me to lash out and say something but I wasn’t going to. I came here for Jax and that’s all that mattered. If it comes down to it, I might say something to her but for now, I kept quiet.

"You came here with her?" She asked Jax but her eyes remained fixed on me. She took a step forward and I took a step back, slightly getting behind Jax. I knew she was angry but I wouldn’t be able to determine how much anger she had for me.

"Claire, I just want to talk." Jax started. He walked closer to her and I could see her demeanor softening as he got into her personal space.

"Let her leave. Jax." She called with the softest tone and her eyes looked like so soft. "Please let her leave. We can talk. I’ll tell you everything."

"No, I want her here with me." Jax stood on his ground and it made my heart warm. "Claire, why did you help Luke? Even after everything. You were like family to me and you betrayed me."

Claire walked closer to Jax and placed her hand on his shoulders. I could see Jax visibly tense up but relaxed after a while. "Where is my baby?" She asked sweetly. "I’m sure he’s grown now and you’ve taken care of him. Let me out of here, let’s go back to our little family."

I wanted to say something but I took steps back walking closer to the door. I could still remember how she snatched my baby from my hands. The way she cradled him and talked about how she wanted a family with Jax. It felt too much. It felt like I was back there again.

I wanted to leave but I wanted to be strong for Jax. I wanted to be a good partner and also confront my fears. I needed to be a good mother for Xander and I couldn’t do that if I was still looking over my shoulder for the next person that might abduct me.

"Claire, Xander is Leonora’s baby. My baby, not yours. And we are not in a relationship. We never were in one. There is no way we can even start a family because I have one with Leonora." Jax firmly said and I smiled lightly. Claire took her hands off Jax like he had burnt her, scorched her. She side stepped him and walked over to me.

"If you do anything to me..." My voice trailed off as she got close to me. She stared at me for what seemed like an eternity. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"You ruined my life. You took everything away from me." She screeched and pounded on the wall beside me. I flinched in fear and tried to run towards Jax but she blocked me. Jax walked over and pulled her off me.

"For a second, I thought maybe I was mistaken but Leonora was right." He said as he got in between the both of us. "I will commence the trial." He said as he tapped on the door, signaling the guards to open up.

"She stole my baby!" Claire screamed as she trashed around. "She stole my baby! She stole my baby! She stole my baby!" She kept repeatedly screaming as the door opened. I rushed out as soon as I could with Jax hot on my heels.

"Leonora!" He called me but my feet carried me as fast as I could. I didn’t want to be down there any longer than I needed to be. "Leonora." He called, this time running up to catch me.

As soon as I got out of the dungeon, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. I felt a lump in my throat as the tears fell from my eyes and keeled over. My heart kept pounding in my chest and I grabbed onto it, stabilizing myself so that I wouldn’t pass out.

"Leonora." Jax said as he pulled me up and into his arms. "I’m so sorry. I’m so so sorry." He said as he rubbed my back.

"We didn’t have to go there. We shouldn’t have gone there." I cried out as he rubbed my back. There was only so much comfort he could give to me. I wanted to see Xander and make sure he was okay.

"I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. She would never ever hurt you. As long as I’m here." He assured me but I didn’t trust his words right now. I knew he tried his best to protect me but a few words from Claire and I was back to the start. Everything I was scared of was there in front of me and I cowered like a baby.

"Let’s go back. I’ll send for food. Your comfort food and we could just lay in bed and process everything together." Jax suggested and I nodded frantically. That was all I needed right now. I just needed comfort and my baby. I needed to hold him and care for him. I needed to know that he was safe with me and not with anyone else.

"I think this is my nightmare." As soon as I calmed down. "Her taking my baby away from me. That’s what I’m scared of." I admitted to him. He kissed my forehead as he rubbed my back.

"Nothing will ever happen to you and Xander. You and Xander are safe with me. No one is coming to get you."
