Chapter 37 - The Text Message from "Husband"

When she returns to her room, the ringtone of a text message comes from Ji Aier's mobile phone. Since it's a newly changed mobile phone, she doesn't even realize that there is a new message when it rings. It takes her a while to figure it out. She quickly picks up the phone and checks it.

She sees that the sender's name in the message inbox is the word "husband".

Ji Aier opens the text message and is surprised that Ji En actually sent her a text message. But they have only been apart for less than two minutes. What does he want to say to her? She sees the words on the screen:

You're such an idiot, fool, and ugly duckling.

Three black lines immediately appear on Ji Aier's face. She never expected that the first text message she received from Ji En would be him scolding her.

I'm not an idiot, nor a fool, and definitely not an ugly duckling! Ji Aier quickly replies to the text message. Then she puts the mobile phone on the desk and walks into the bathroom. She is all sweaty today.

Just as Ji Aier has just rinsed off the bubbles all over her body, the bathroom door suddenly bangs open. She is startled and quickly grabs a bath towel to cover herself. Then she looks at Ji En leaning against the door.

"There's nothing to cover. I'm not interested in you." Ji En says with a look of disdain, as if what Ji Aier is doing is completely unnecessary.

"I just came here to tell you this. I'm too lazy to send a text message." Ji En turns the mobile phone screen towards her. Ji Aier sees that the text message being edited on the screen reads: You're the one I want to marry in the future!

Ji En is just like this, duplicitous. He always stubbornly pretends to despise her in front of Ji Aier, but still inadvertently shows that she is very important to him.

Ji Aier holds the bath towel and looks up at him with a smile.

"You look like an idiot when you smile!" Ji En leaves these words and walks out of Ji Aier's room. For a moment, she sees that he blushes. She never expected that he could be shy sometimes.

After Ji En leaves, Ji Aier quickly changes her clothes, worried that he might burst in again on a whim.

When she walks out of the bathroom, Ji Aier picks up the mobile phone and sees that there is no unread message displayed. In her message inbox, there is only the text message that Ji En sent scolding her.

There are still 23 days until Ji En goes to the United States. Ji Aier makes a memo on the mobile phone and saves all the things she needs to do next as reminders.

After Ji En goes abroad this time, they may not see each other for several years. Ji Aier doesn't know what kind of scene it will be when they meet again. Will Ji En still be the same Ji En as now? Maybe Ji En won't call her an idiot or an ugly duckling like he does now. He will be more respectful to others. Of course, he won't tell her that she is the one he wants to marry in the future either. They are 18 years old now, at the age of youthful ignorance. They can't yet bear such a heavy promise.
