This pill was incredible. Jason had only managed to unlock it after reaching this new level 20and it had actually turned out to be the greatest thing he had unlocked.
The thrill of the impending confrontation sent a jolt of adrenaline through Jason. This was his arena, where stakes were high, and one wrong move could spell disaster. He thrived on this though… There was just something about this dangerous situation he was getting into that was really making him extremely excited.
Later that evening, Jason stepped into the elevator, ready to leave for the meeting. The doors began to close when a slender hand stopped them. Samantha stepped in, her sharp bob swaying slightly as she entered. Her fitted skirt accentuated her every step, and the faintest hint of her perfume filled the air.
Jason leaned casually against the elevator wall, his smirk returning. "Fancy meeting you here… Ms Ellis."
Samantha didn’t look up from her phone. "Don’t flatter yourself. I still haven’t let you off after everything. You were very disrespectful. I could fire you, you know…"
Jason chuckled. "Fire me because of a moment we shared? That’s not nice… That’s not very professional."
She finally glanced at him, her expression unreadable. "Professional? What do you know about being a professional? And I have to give props to your imaginations, Jason. I’m not obsessed with you, but you might be obsessed with me though. It’s very clear to me that you are. And it’s becoming very clear to me every day."
"Am I?" Jason said as he stepped closer, his tone dropping slightly. "You’ve been different since our... moment. It’s okay to admit it. I don’t bite… unless you ask nicely."
Samantha’s eyes narrowed, but she didn’t step back. "You think you’re irresistible, don’t you?"
Jason shrugged, his gaze locking with hers. "I think you know exactly what you want but are too stubborn to admit it. You want me. You can say whatever you want, but I can see it. The way you look at me, the way you chase after me. It’s obvious.
The tension in the elevator was palpable. Jason could feel the heat radiating from her as she stared him down. The elevator dinged as it reached the ground floor, but Samantha didn’t move. Instead, she hit the button to hold the doors closed.
"Let me make one thing clear," she said, stepping closer and poking a finger into his chest. "If you think you can play games in my company, you’re sorely mistaken. Jason… I realise now that I should not have underestimated you, but neither should you underestimate me. Remember, I still know something about you that Verónica doesn’t. If I tell her… You will never be the same ever again."
Jason tilted his head, unfazed. "Who said anything about games? I’m here to make you and this company more successful than you’ve ever dreamed. Maybe you should thank me." His expression turned colder though in the next moment. "And with regards to Veronica… you can do whatever you want to. You know how powerful my tongue can be. "
"And you know how good my tongue can be too… You better believe that whatever lies you tell, I can tell even better truths... especially about what you did with the receptionist and with me..." Samantha said with a smirk, feeling Jason’s gaze bearing down on her.
Jason smirked. "Speaking of tongues... Maybe we should put our tongues to the test sometime… what do you think?"
"You…" Samantha said, pointing at his face, her lips twitching even without her ability to stop them. This bastard was just too good at talking. Every single time they were around each other she found her mind going numb. She needs to get back in the game. She scoffed, but her lips curled into a faint smile. "You’re insufferable."
"And you’re still obsessed," Jason countered, leaning in just enough to make her heart race. Before she could respond, the elevator doors opened again, and Jason stepped out, leaving her staring after him.
"Goodnight, Samantha."
Jason soon arrived at the factory, looking around and seeing it cleaner than usual. Was Troy going to meet him here? This was not a good setting for business was it But it was the perfect place for a hit. Thinking this far, Jason turned and saw the three goons waving at him from the distance.
Jason looked at them as they approached and smirked. These bastards had better drip now. They were so well dressed and it was pretty interesting. They even had... good style? So they made themselves look better so that they could look good for Jason, huh… What an interesting bunch.
"Marcus, tell me any extra details you found out so far," Jason said as they finally arrived.
"They are in there, boss," Marcus nodded as he began, immediately getting to work, "I haven’t seen their boss yet, but I have seen Draco, that bastard. There is a car parked at the back. Maybe the boss is in there. Or maybe he’s somewhere else."
Jason nodded, not even looking at Marcus as he delivered the report indifferently. Jason turned to the three. "You guys look good. Keep it up and I will reward you. And dont be worried about work. There will be a lot of it if things go well today."
They nodded, genuinely grateful. They had put in a lot of effort and now even though they didn’t look like proper gangsters, they still looked pretty good too. So Jason was going to put them to work, huh? That was good. With good work came good pay.
Jason ignored them, walking in, and they followed him in, looking around calmly somehow. It wasn’t long until he saw the gangsters standing there, looking at him with various expressions. Some of them had slings and others were injured. It was a funny bunch, looking more like patients than anything. Draco also stood there, looking at him with a frown and then smirking, although reluctantly.
The man Draco said nothing, merely waving at Jason and Jason only to follow him to the car. Jason smirked, turning to the three boys and nodding to them before he followed them. Jason was immediately led to the car, and as soon as he got in, it began moving to the other side of the town.
Jason arrived at the meeting spot, stepping out with Draco. Looking at the building, Jason noticed that it was a dimly lit warehouse on the outskirts of the city. As soon as he entered he narrowed his eyes. The smell of oil and metal lingered in the air, and the faint sound of dripping water echoed through the cavernous space.
But Jason soon got used to it, as he got moving again. It was clean and mostly empty. Why were there so many empty warehouses and factories in this city? Who knew... He soon arrived at a place, and there he saw three men.
Troy was waiting, flanked by two burly men. He was dressed sharply, his dark suit contrasting with his cold demeanour. He smiled as Jason approached, but there was no warmth in that smile, there was only something else, something calculating and apathetic.
"Jason," Troy drawled. "You’re a hard man to pin down."
Pin down? Was he trying to learn about him all this time only to discover that he could not learn anything? Well, that was interesting. But expected. After all, there was no way Troy was going to do business with an unknow. No, he was going to ensure that he knew who Jason was, and also knew if he had any weaknesses. That way he could control their interactions better.
Jason smirked, standing tall. "Busy men tend to be."
Troy chuckled, his gaze turning sharp all of a sudden. "I tested out the pills you gave me last time. They were pretty good..." After saying that he paused trying to see something it seemed, but Jason gave nothing away. "About your... miracle pills. Care to enlighten me? I’m really curious about everything about them. Who created them, where did they come from, who sells them, where do they sell them from?"
Jason didn’t flinch. "Depends on what you want to know."
Troy’s smile widened. "I want in. Full access. Not to you, but to the people behind you. And I’m willing to pay you… You gave me 10 million worth of pills last time, right? Let’s say I give you double. 20 million."
There it was. Cutting out the middle man. As expected again.
Jason crossed his arms, pretending to mull it over. "I don’t know about that… Why dont I just take the money for myself as a gift for successful cooperation, and then leave everything else to the most high? What do you think, Troy?"
Troy stepped closer, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "I think that’s a bad idea. Because I don’t take no for an answer."
Jason met his gaze, unyielding. "Then we’ll need to talk numbers. Big ones. And unfortunately, you’re not cutting out any middleman, Troy. It’s impossible."
Troy’s expression darkened, but then he laughed, the sound echoing through the warehouse. "I like you, Jason. You’ve got guts. Let’s see if you’ve got brains to match."
Jason smirked, but before he could respond, the warehouse door slammed open, and armed men stormed in. Jason’s heart raced as Troy barked orders, reaching for his gun.
*Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!*
The room erupted into chaos as bullets rained everywhere. Jason ducked behind a stack of crates, his mind racing. Who the hell are these guys?
