The Only Spatial Ability User In The Apocalypse-Chapter 41 Change in Space
It was as if he had broken through some kind of barrier. But Sylas didn’t have much time to think about the sudden increase in his speed. His focus was on the fleeing mutated rat.
The mutated rat, sensing Sylas right behind it, immediately squeaked. Sylas immediately sent out spatial blades one after another, aiming straight at the mutated rat with an earth ability.
The mutated rat immediately raised earth barriers one after another in defense to block Sylas’s spatial blades, but it couldn’t keep up with Sylas’s speed.
Squeak!
The mutated rat squeaked as a spatial blade severed one of its hind limbs. Its movement slowed down visibly, and Sylas seized the opportunity and sent out a spatial blade, immediately cutting the mutated rat in half.
Blood splattered, and the mutated rat finally died under Sylas’s spatial blade.
Sylas panted and slowed down, catching his breath. He then walked towards the mutated rat and cut open the mutated rat’s head with a precise spatial blade attack.
Sylas picked up a brown-colored energy stone from inside the mutated rat’s head.
The energy stone was slightly larger than the last two plant and fire ability energy stones he had seen.
Sylas felt that the size of the energy stone was the reason the mutated rat was stronger and its smooth use of the earth ability.
Sylas plopped down on the ground inside the forest, holding the energy stone. This time, he not only gained an energy stone, but also his ability seemed to have gone through a breakthrough when pushed to the limits. He saw an improvement in both his speed and the use of his ability. When he maneuvered the spatial blade just now, his actions were much smoother and faster.
Sylas didn’t plan to absorb the energy stone at the moment. He immediately stored it inside his space and got up to leave the forest.
On the way, Sylas eliminated several other normal mutated rats. He was quite far away from the safe zone, so he immediately sprinted back. But before he could get out of the forest, Sylas heard thunder rumbling above his head. Sylas looked up and saw dark clouds looming in the sky. It was only noon, but the sun was nowhere to be seen, and the whole atmosphere became gloomy.
Sylas’s heart thumped when he looked at the sky. It was about to rain, and Sylas had a very bad feeling about it. After awakening an ability, the senses of awakened humans increased, and their intuition became strong too.
Sylas had a feeling that the rain this time was not going to be simple.
The sky seemed to get darker and darker, and Sylas saw several mutated birds rushing towards big trees to find shelter. Some even attacked Sylas, but Sylas killed them all.
Sylas was running at his limits again, rushing towards the safe zone before the rain started falling. Suddenly, Sylas felt his vision become clearer, and then his hearing improved. He was caught off guard by the sudden improvements in his hearing and vision. His senses were already higher than those of average humans after awakening, but now he felt his senses had doubled. If before his senses were at level 1, then now they should be at level 2.
But this wasn’t the end of it. He suddenly felt his body go light, and his speed increased at an incredible rate. This increase in speed was much higher than before when he was chasing after the mutated rat.
Sylas was shocked by the sudden overall increase in his strength. He didn’t know what was going on, but this was good for him as the rain was about to fall.
With the increase in his strength, he swiftly made it out of the forest. When he saw the walls of the safe zone, he breathed a sigh of relief. But at the same time, thunder started rumbling again with a loud sound.
The rain was about to fall, and the uneasy feeling brewing inside Sylas’s mind also deepened.
With a whoosh, Sylas sped past the iron gate, startling the patrol guards.
"Hurry and take shelter. Don’t stand in the rain," Sylas only left these words to the patrol guards before heading straight inside the safe zone.
"Don’t let anyone out. Everyone get inside," Sylas shouted as he ran.
Major Kyle was startled by the commotion caused by Sylas and immediately came to him.
"Sylas, what happened?" Major Kyle asked.
Sylas immediately stopped upon seeing Major Kyle.
"Major, I have a very bad feeling about this rain. Hurry and inform everyone outside," Sylas said, panting.
Major Kyle was stunned because he too had been feeling uneasy since morning, but he didn’t connect it to the rain. Now, hearing those words from Sylas, Major Kyle immediately got into action.
All the survivors were ordered not to step outside the building. Those bitten and injured by mutated rats were separated and kept in another building. If they were to transform, the guarding soldiers would immediately shoot them down.
"Close all the windows and doors too," Sylas instructed.
After reaching the building where the ability users were staying, Sylas’s heart, which had been beating wildly, finally calmed down.
"I have been feeling uneasy too since this morning but didn’t know why. But it turns out it’s because of the rain," Dylan said as he walked towards Sylas, who had just reached the corridor.
Leo and Serena also had the same thought.
Drops of rain started to fall slowly, and a cold wind started to blow.
"Let’s get inside. This rain doesn’t seem to be simple," Sylas said to them.
Everyone hurried inside the hall on the ground floor and closed the windows and doors.
"Where is Dudu?" Sylas asked.
"Don’t worry, he is with a female nurse," Leo assured Sylas.
Sylas nodded his head and looked outside through the window.
The rain was slowly starting to get heavier.
The mutated rats inside the safe zone seemed to have been taken care of.
Sylas leaned against the wall and closed his eyes, trying to sense his space to look at the earth ability energy stone. But Sylas immediately stood straight as if shocked.
Seeing Sylas’s movement, the rest of them were stunned and immediately asked,
"What happened?"
Sylas was still shocked at what he saw inside his space but still maintained a calm expression outside.
"Nothing, I am just tired," Sylas said to them.
But Sylas was far from being calm inside because the earth ability energy stone which he had stored inside his space was nowhere to be seen, and what shocked him the most was the change in his space.
His space had doubled in size, and there was something more in his space.
