The Only Spatial Ability User In The Apocalypse-Chapter 46 Gather supplies
"Supplies?" Dylan asked.
"We need to gather supplies as much as we can before zombies form energy stones. Not only zombies, but also mutated plants and animals. If they all get stronger, it will be difficult for us to gather supplies," Major Kyle explained.
Everyone understood the implications.
"Everyone, tomorrow we need to head out again to gather supplies. So take a good rest after dinner," Major Kyle said to them before rushing off to make preparations for tomorrow.
After dinner, Sylas headed straight back to his room. After locking his door, he closed his eyes and sensed his space.
Sylas carefully scanned his space and noticed an increase in its size by about a meter this time. Also, there was another addition to his space. By the edge of the water pool, Sylas saw small green plants sprouting.
His space could grow plants!
Sylas immediately opened his eyes wide.
’As expected of a plant ability energy stone,’ Sylas thought.
He knew the importance of being able to grow plants in his space, especially during the apocalypse.
If news about his space got out, he would be like a walking treasure trove. And he would also be in danger. The existence of his space was known by others, but what was going on inside his space and what his space was capable of were known only to him, and he decided to keep his mouth shut about it.
But there was one thing troubling him. If there were other space ability users, then what about their spaces? And would they keep the capabilities of their spaces a secret? If one of the space ability users let out this secret, would it be a good or bad thing for a space ability user?
Sylas didn’t dare to think deeper.
The next morning, apart from the newly awakened humans, all of them set out to gather supplies.
This time, they even took a military truck with them. Last time, they didn’t take a truck because they had Sylas’ space, but this time they were planning to go to multiple places to collect supplies, and Sylas’ space was only the size of a basketball court. Major Kyle wanted to hurry and gather as many supplies as they could before it was too late.
Sylas’ space had doubled in size, but Sylas didn’t share it with them. He only credited the increase in his strength to constantly training and pushing his limits while fighting. No one doubted his explanation because they had seen that even without energy stones, their strength seemed to increase with continuous use of their abilities and with time.
Sylas had no intention of revealing his secrets, so he didn’t mention it to anyone. This was an apocalypse, and he knew he couldn’t trust anyone, even if they had shared life-and-death situations together. For a chance of survival, people could even sell out and kill their own kin, so what was a mere friend or acquaintance he had just met not long ago?
"Sylas, store every edible good you see when we reach the destination," Major Kyle said to Sylas.
Sylas nodded his head. Apart from storing it for the safe zone, he also planned to store things for himself. He was going to hoard whatever food he saw.
As they set out from the safe zone, Sylas looked out of the window and saw the once healthy and thriving forest wilted.
Everyone had noticed it since morning. After the rain, the plants were slowly dying, and the soil became rough. It looked like nothing could be grown.
The rain brought many changes to the world, and the number of people transforming inside the space also increased. But the number of humans awakening abilities was very low.
This time, they were going to a convenience store in the middle of the town. All the nearby stores closest to the safe zone had been looted, and now they had no choice but to head toward the center of the town.
The danger level was marked red, but they had no choice.
"Everyone, don’t shoot any zombies you see on the road. We are heading straight toward the destination. Apart from unexpected events, we are not coming out of the car," Major Kyle said.
On the way, they only stopped a few times to remove some cars blocking the road. Sylas was enough to deal with it.
With the other team members covering for him, Sylas quickly and efficiently removed the cars and objects blocking the road using his space.
"Hurry, get inside before zombies gather," Shuan, who was covering for Sylas, said.
Sylas nodded and immediately got inside the car.
"Everyone stay alert, we are about to reach the destination," Major Kyle said as he looked outside, scanning for danger.
There were zombies strolling aimlessly along the way.
"There is something ahead," Serena, who was sitting in the back seat, suddenly said.
Everyone immediately looked ahead.
"Did you feel something?" Sylas asked.
Serena nodded. "If I am not mistaken, it might be a mutated plant."
"You can feel it?" Major Kyle asked.
"It’s just like before when we dealt with the mutated Devil’s Trumpet Flower. I can feel its oppression," Serena explained with furrowed brows. She didn’t like the sense of oppression pressing on her.
On the other hand, Sylas didn’t feel the oppression that Serena was feeling, but he could sense the existence of the mutated plant.
It seemed that Serena couldn’t feel the existence of mutated plants. She could only feel their oppression when the plants were active.
As expected, after a few minutes, they saw a huge tree blocking the road. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
It was a mutated tree, and its branches were dancing wildly in the air. Its branches extended out to grab nearby zombies, and it consumed them by opening its stem.
The mutated plant was consuming zombies as food.
"My God! It’s a mutated tree, and it’s so huge," Dylan said, his eyes wide open.
The huge mutated tree, sensing the arrival of newcomers, immediately shook its leaves and branches, and a few of its branches shot out, aiming straight at the cars.
"Get out! Everyone!" Major Kyle shouted.
Sylas got out of the car with a quick movement and immediately sent out spatial blades toward the incoming tree branches.
"Serena, move back," Dylan hurriedly said as he held a long sword in his hand, ready to fight back.
