The Overnight Chosen Wife: darling, kiss me deeper-Chapter 617: Unfair play
Chapter 617: Unfair play
When the couple had finished having their dinner, he held her hand as he led her out of the restaurant. It was not just because he wanted to feel her hand in hers but also because he had caught a guy staring at Yue. He couldn’t blame him—Yue was too beautiful. But that didn’t mean he was not prepared to greet the guy’s face with his fist if he continued staring at his girlfriend.
Knowing Linhou all too well, she chuckled at his possessive way of protecting what was his and placed a hand on his shoulder so he would stop walking. When he did, she pulled him down and kissed his lips gently.
"Does that prove your point?" She asked.
It did. In ways that made his heart skip several beats at that.
"Do you want to go home?" He asked.
"I’m more interested in what you have in mind if I say no to that." She smiled in response. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"I know a place we could go, and the good news is we don’t have to sneak into a forbidden swimming pool for a dip when no one’s watching." He assured her.
"But I would love the idea of sneaking into a pool more," she playfully pouted.
"We can do that once I’m back in your father’s good books. For now, let’s just do something milder." He suggested, and he led her to the waiting car.
She wanted to ask where they were going but at the same time, she wanted it to be a surprise. That, and the fact that she knew it was what he would say—that he preferred to surprise her. So she rolled with it and when they finally came to the resort he had planned to take her, she was in awe.
"Do you like it?" He asked, having seen her expression of excitement.
"This is the best date I’ve ever been on!" She cheered.
"You’ve never been on a date." He frowned. She was too excited, dragging his hand to pull him into the resort faster as though he was wasting her time.
A smile settled on his face. This was one of the best perks of dating a woman you have known all your life. You know her so well that you can guess what she likes without thinking about it. She had always wanted to come to Lux Resort but she felt it was only good for couples as there were many games it offered that were best played in pairs.
Once when they were teenagers, she had even suggested they sneak out at night and come here despite not being a couple, and she had found a way for them to use fake IDs to get in. Unfortunately, Han Xichen had caught wind of it and punished both of them by having them read his medical research notes all night.
It wouldn’t be that much of a punishment if only Han Xichen had normal handwriting. But the man wrote like a duck swimming through a puddle and expected them to take notes of his work to prove they had read it. After hours of endless torture, they had concluded that he didn’t know what the notes said either as he had written them so horribly, so he was only trying to make them help him out with it.
They even went ahead and wondered how he ever wrote love letters to his wife with that kind of handwriting.
Thinking about the past made him smile. When he came back to the present, his girlfriend had just enrolled both of them in an arcade shooting game. She called him over and gave him his game controller when he sat down.
When it came to their taste in games, they were in perfect sync. Within three minutes, they had massacred all the zombies in the game and were resting against the backrests.
"Too easy. Is there a hard mode?" Yue asked.
The teenage couple waiting for their turn was shocked. The girl was looking at Linhou like a fangirl while her boyfriend glared at him.
"It’s not my fault we beat the high score and it’s too easy for us." Linhou chuckled as they got out of the seats to give the young ones their chance.
The girl’s face flushed when Linhou looked at her and would probably speak to him if her boyfriend didn’t drag her along.
"You did that on purpose." Yue laughed at her boyfriend’s attempt at ruining a young couple’s date.
"Of course I did. They should be doing their homework instead of running around on dates."
She shook her head at him but she was too excited to argue. Next, they went horse riding—one of her favorite parts of the resort.
Afterward, they finally came to the sport she lived for. Motorbike racing. Her parents would never allow her, saying it was too dangerous, but Linhou had always snuck her out for a ride when he got his first bike. He had taught her everything she knew and when he was certain she could do it, he had let her race a few times.
Of course, Han Xichen should never get to hear of this date or he would kill him.
"But my clothes..." Yue sighed looking down at her dress. If she sat on the bike, not only would it obstruct her, but it might also expose too much of her skin once she sat.
"I didn’t tell you we would be doing this, so I got you covered." He winked. She couldn’t help hugging him.
"I can’t believe I ever thought dating you would be a mistake." She wanted to slap her younger self. She had been scared that if it didn’t end well between them, she would not just lose her boyfriend but her best friend too.
But although it had only been a day since they made it official, nothing had ever felt so right.
He pecked her gently and led her to a room he had booked, where he had bought a few outfits for her to choose from.
She chose the black bodysuit that made her feel like a villainess from a superhero movie when she wore it. Satisfied with her look, she joined him in the bike parking lot. He didn’t have any trouble with his outfit so he decided to just ride in it. He had chosen a black bike for himself and a white one for her as if he knew what outfit she would choose. Maybe he did.
"Are you ready?" He asked once she sat on her bike. It was so heavy that she almost feared she might not be able to control it, but she was not new to the model. Besides, it was fast which was convenient.
"Never been readier." She slipped on her helmet. "But where are the other riders?"
"We are the only ones who want to ride at this moment." He lied. He had greased the resort owner’s pockets to allow them to be on their own at this specific time. He knew she could race like a pro but he didn’t trust the kind of people that frequented this kind of resort club.
Aside from delinquents with no care for rules, this place was usually flooded with mafia henchmen who came to relax for a while after following their bosses around all day. Besides, the mafia bosses liked to choose resorts as their favorite places to hold their meetings.
Racing with any of them was a lose-lose situation no matter how one were to think about it. If you won against them, they would hold a grudge and go after you. Either that or they would trap you mid-race and cause an accident.
He didn’t want to risk it so he had bought himself and his girlfriend ten minutes. It would be enough to give her the adrenaline rush she craved without risking her life.
This also meant, the race couldn’t start as usual and they had to time it on their own.
"On the count of three." He said. She nodded to express that she was ready. "Three..." he stopped counting because she had sped off on her bike. He gasped. "What happened to two and one?"
"I’m giving myself a head start. Do you think I’m stupid to have a fair race against you?" She yelled in the wind.
He couldn’t hear her clearly because of the noisy engines but he got her point. Clever girl. But if he won despite her little unfair play, he would have to claim a prize from her. It was only fair, right?
