Chapter 644: Chapter 323: Third-Class Permissions

“I had not expected Eastern Daoist Friend, with his first level Divinity Transformation Cultivation level, to pass the third-level trial of Tai Xuan Tower; truly a groundbreaking and earth-shattering feat,” Xu Zhiyuan said, coming to his senses, and saluted Lin Yi with cupped fists.

Most can only pass the third-level trial in the late stages of Refining Void, even he himself had only passed the second-level trial.

Previously, when Elder Peng bestowed the Token on this Daoist friend, he thought for sure that the individual was exceptional. Yet, he never imagined they would be this astonishing.

“Lord Xu praises me too highly,” Lin Yi returned the salute with cupped fists.

“Let’s go, follow me to meet Elder Lei,” Xu Zhiyuan said with a smile, handing back the Identity Jade to Lin Yi and gesturing with his hand.

Elder Lei Yin had probably long since forgotten about this matter, but if he knew that the cultivator Elder Peng had taken an interest in had passed the three trials, he too would surely be filled with amazement.

“Daoist friend, I wish you great success on your path and that you slay those detestable demons,” fellow cultivators around wished him well as they saw Lin Yi preparing to leave.

Lin Yi turned to salute with cupped fists, then followed Xu Zhiyuan, entering the mountain gate of Tai Xuan Dao Palace together, and after passing through the Formation, he couldn’t help but notice that there were quite a few cultivators slowly progressing up the stairway.

Noticing Lin Yi’s gaze, Xu Zhiyuan pointed to the cultivators on the stairway and said, “These are Ascenders from various realms. So long as they can ascend fifty steps, they may enter Tai Xuan Dao Palace. Unfortunately, even in such ordinary trials, many Ascenders cannot succeed.”

“Were they to attempt the Tai Xuan Tower, I fear they wouldn’t even pass the first level.”

“It is only the Ascenders who can enjoy such treatment, passing the trial to receive guidance in Tai Xuan Dao Palace. Other local cultivators, unless particularly outstanding, need to fight demons and eradicate evil, earning a certain amount of merit, to be able to enter Tai Xuan Dao Palace for guidance.”

“Of course, if Ascenders fail to meet the required standards in the Dao Palace’s periodic reviews more than three times, they will be directly expelled from the Dao Palace, to prevent anyone from muddling along without genuine ability.”

Lin Yi nodded slightly; he had already perused this scene through the Eye of Emptiness, and inferred from the previous twelve Spirit Cities that each city’s Ascension Platform was connected to six lower Cultivation Worlds, making a total of seventy-two worlds.

Some worlds have dense spiritual energy, greatly increasing the chances of ascending. Naturally, more people will arrive in the upper world, especially the three main cities connected to Cultivation Worlds where the spiritual energy is rich to a degree that might be several times greater than their Heng Yuan World at the very least.

The path of cultivation is like the leap of fish over the Dragon Gate, to see who has the ability to hurdle over each Dragon Gate, continuously ascending to higher realms, and eventually attain immortality.

From the continuous trials of these Ascenders, one can see just how esteemed the Tai Xuan Dao Palace is and the resources it can offer, which no other power can match.

Along the way here, he could feel the high regard the Spirit Profound Realm held for Ascenders. In the face of the crisis posed by the demon and evil tribes, once Ascenders grow, they would become a formidable force.

Then, Lin Yi followed Xu Zhiyuan in flight on a controlled sword, bypassing the steps and heading towards the mountain peaks. On the journey upwards, he saw many ancient buildings situated on various mountain peaks, some even constructed on trees extending out from cliffs.

The buildings were of varied designs, some shaped like gourds, others like treasured swords, truly diverse and peculiar, signifying the inclusiveness of Tai Xuan Dao Palace.

“Lord Xu, are these unusual buildings also the academies of the Dao Palace?” Lin Yi asked curiously.

Xu Zhiyuan smiled, “They are not where the academies are located, but the Cave Mansions individually constructed by the Fusion Elders. However, sometimes they do allow Dao Palace disciples to go to their Cave Mansions for learning.”

Lin Yi nodded. Indeed, the academy structure of the Dao Palace revealed the progressive nature of the Spirit Profound Realm’s cultivators.

He continued to ride the currents upward with Xu Zhiyuan, reaching the peak of a mountain next to the main peak. During the flight, he sensed bursts of thunder and lightning energy from the back of the mountain, obscured by the Formation, unable to see clearly.

Atop the peak, there was a huge hall with ‘The Hall of Preaching’ written on it. From the sky, the structure of the entire hall resembled an open book.

Xu Zhiyuan began his introduction, “Eastern Daoist Friend, this Hall of Preaching is responsible for managing all deeds related to the Dao Palace disciples, including initiation, subsequent learning and guidance, and various trials—it’s all managed by this hall.”

“The Elder Lei Yin I mentioned earlier is the master of this hall.”

Lin Yi instantly understood. No wonder Elder Peng had sent a message to this Elder Lei Yin; it turned out he was specifically in charge of the affairs of Dao Palace disciples. Presumably, the Ascension Hall was an organization under the jurisdiction of The Hall of Preaching.

“Follow me inside. Elder Lei would have already received news of you passing the three trials,” Xu Zhiyuan beckoned and led Lin Yi into The Hall of Preaching.

Entering the hall, a Divinity Disciple guarding the entrance greeted them with cupped fists, “Lord Xu, Elder Lei has left a message; when you arrive, please go to the back mountain to find him.”

“Alright, I understand,” Xu Zhiyuan nodded slightly and continued forward with Lin Yi.

Inside the hall, they could see some disciples arrayed at different places, lining up to handle some affairs, while others were undergoing tests.

Xu Zhiyuan explained at Lin Yi’s side, “Some courses taught by Fusion Elders require pre-registration and satisfy certain criteria to participate. For example, with alchemy, you need your Alchemy skills to reach a certain level. If you don’t meet the requirements, even if you attend, you won’t be able to learn anything.”
