The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend-Chapter 663 - Void Prison
The box-shaped golem fell to the ground and scattered into numerous pieces before shooting toward Hanwu. The pressure Hanwu was still exerting didn’t stop the pieces from entering his body and turning into a seal that trapped him in a black void.
From the outside, Hanwu had turned into a box that matched his height.
“We finally caught him,” Darcy muttered, pushing off the ground and brushing the dust off his body. He was particularly petty and held grudges, so once the seal was complete, he ran to the box and kicked it. “Weren’t you all powerful? Where has that bravado gone? You’re now trapped in the Void Prison, and you can’t escape unless Liuqing lets you out. Just grow old and die inside.”
The Void Prison rolled on the ground. A crack echoed. Darcy was so shocked that he froze in place. Liuqing flew down to check the condition of the Void Prison.
A tiny crack had appeared. While not enough to break the Void Prison on its own, if more appeared, it would eventually shatter, and Hanwu would be released.
“Liuqing, I thought your Void Prison was sturdy enough to capture even Giant Sages? What’s going on here?” Darcy asked, voice trembling in fear.
Another crack echoed. A second fracture appeared on the box. At this rate, it would take Hanwu less than an hour to break free.
Liuqing’s voice, however, was still monotonous when he responded, “We just need to head back and let the boss deal with this as quickly as possible. We can’t stop him with the two of us.”
“What are we waiting for? Let’s go,” Darcy urged, not wanting to deal with Hanwu any longer than necessary.
Liuqing turned to the three Masters on the verge of death from the poison. This was the best chance to kill them. As he stepped forward to do so, another crack sounded. Hanwu was slowly but surely breaking through.
Panicked, Darcy persuaded Liuqing, “There’s no time to deal with them. We need to head back and deal with this now.”
Darcy was worried that Hanwu would break out from the Void Prison if they delayed any longer. Liuqing didn’t have a second Void Prison Golem to seal Hanwu, so he nodded and hurriedly flew back to their base with Darcy.
Kumori, on the verge of death, watched with helpless fury as the two ninjas from Rogue flew off. He found it hard to move his fingers, much less stand. Even so, he still struggled to scratch out a report on the ground.
He had to get this information to the village before he died of poison. As his consciousness flickered, he noticed a figure in black robes and a black mask approaching. None of the three recognized the man.
“Such delicious souls. I shall offer you to the great Lord Huangquan!” The man made several hand seals. “S-rated Sealing Jutsu: Reaper Seal!”
An illusion of Lord Huangquan appeared behind the man in black. The illusion slowly extended its arms toward the three Masters before pulling their souls from their bodies and eating them.
The soul of the man was also taken, but after a moment, it was released back to his body. The man had received a powerful jutsu that enhanced his physical prowess, the S-rated Taijutsu: Rampaging Steam.
“Thank you, Lord Huangquan. I will serve you forever,” the man vowed devoutly, removing his mask to pray toward the illusion.
It was Kokkai Hakurou, the patriarch of the Kokkai family!
“I will kill my son to complete the tribute and return to your embrace as soon as possible,” he promised.
Meanwhile, in the Void Prison, Hanwu sat cross-legged, engaged in a conversation with the Maw Giant.
“You despicable human, let me out!”
The Maw Giant had recovered its stamina after regaining consciousness and had since been struggling against the chains and cage of the Four Guardians Seal. Every time it tried to escape, electricity arced out and zapped it. Still, the shaking of the chains and cage indicated that the seal wasn’t as stable as expected.
“Why should I let you out? Can you break free from the Void Prison?” Hanwu scoffed.
Despite being inside Hanwu, the Maw Giant could still sense the happenings outside. With a testy “Hmph!” it gave up.
“You can’t break free from the Void Prison, can you? But I can. I just don’t have enough chakra. Since you’re sealed inside of me, don’t you think you should be paying rent?”
“Do you think I’m sealed here by choice?!” the Maw Giant roared. “Let me out, you shitty bastard!”
Hanwu frowned. “It seems you don’t understand your situation. I can be perfectly violent, but I chose to be courteous first. Why don’t we have a duel?”
Having said that, he quietly activated Flesh Ascendant, and a terrifying pressure filled the space.
The Maw Giant trembled from fear. It had only ever felt pressure like this from the strongest Giant Sage, the Progenitor Giant. The suffocating feeling stifled all thoughts of fighting back. It knew it was useless to struggle. After all, the Maw Giant was only a below-average Giant Sage.
Hanwu stepped forward to grab the bars of the cage. Electricity arched out from the bars and shot him backward. This was a defense mechanism of the Four Guardians Seal.
The Maw Giant almost cried in happiness at the sight. It had previously thought the cage was imprisoning it, but it was actually protecting it from being bullied!
“Do you really think this cage can stop me?” Hanwu turned his hands into blades using Slashing Steel Palms. With Flesh Ascendant, the slashes he delivered were hundreds of times stronger.
His blows left deep grooves on the cage. A few more rounds of this and the cage would be sliced to pieces. The Maw Giant was enveloped in fear. Once the cage was gone, it would be the next victim of those blades!
Hanwu used it again. The grooves deepened until they were halfway through the bars. No longer able to endure the looming dread, the Maw Giant gave in.
“Alright, I give up,” it pleaded. “Stop attacking the cage. I will lend you my strength!”
“Good.” Hanwu stopped, sensing the Maw Giant send over its power as promised.
