The Phantom's Gambit-Chapter 66: Shaman
They stared at each other with venom in their eyes. The fringe lady pulled her hand away from Sebastian roughly and Sebastian did not try to hold her back. Instead, he placed his hand in his jean pocket and took some steps away from her.
"Did they send you as a form of distraction to me?" She questioned again and the fringe lady scoffed.
"I’m not telling you anything about me, our meeting was purely coincidental."
Sebastian nodded briefly, taking in her response. Her heart was steady and it meant she was telling the truth; That she wouldn’t give him any details about her, and their meeting was coincidental.
"I need you to move the body because I still need the car."
"I care why?" Sebastian asked, completely unimpressed.
"Because I saved your ass a couple of times while we were in it, so the least you could do is help move the body so I can get on my way. I’m late as it is."
"Again, I care why?"
She groans in frustration as she clutches and unclutches her hands.
"I took the risk of jumping into the back of the truck for this car,"
"No one forced you to do it." Sebastian simply states as he stared at her with a bored expression. "I’m afraid you came all the way here for the car, just to not go with it. Even if I removed the body, which I would not do. The tyres are punctured."
The fringe lady moved her gaze from Sebastian to The tyres, so she could see for herself. And apparently, Sebastian was telling the truth.

She grabbed her gun and tucked it back inside her boots before she veered around and started walking in the opposite direction murmuring curses at Sebastian, and how stupid she was to think he would kiss her or even let him kiss her.
Sebastian on the other hand, who was hearing every bit of what she was letting out, did not try to stop her.
As if on cue, Gael chose to make his entrance.
Sebastian had smelt him from nearby, and he knew he would probably show up soon. Gael comes to stand beside him and they both watch the lady with a figure eight curve, march on.
"Seems like you’ve got your hands full." Gael drops a comment immediately the fringe lady was out of sight.
"How much did you hear?" Sebastian asked him instead.
"I didn’t- but I can tell you were not wasting your time waiting for Alpha with that cutie ."
Cutie? Sebastian reasoned. Sebastian almost chuckled. He was sure if Gael had spent two minutes with her, he would call her anything but a cutie. And he liked it… He liked her and he couldn’t bring himself to understand the sudden attraction.
"So has something to do with the men that were chasing me."
Gael turned to him wanting to know more "Did you handle them?" he questioned
"She did most of the work while I drove."
Gael hums In understanding, even if he wasn’t sure how.
"If she fought along side with you, why do you think she is connected with the men that were chasing you earlier?"
Sebastian lets out a sigh before turning to face Gael. He points to the man who was unconscious in the driver’s seat "A tattoo. She had the same tattoo encrypted on his arm, in her arm also. It could not be a form of coincidence. And I know these were men from the club earlier. But she is not mundane, but they are. So it doesn’t make sense to me and she wouldn’t answer my question."
Gael creased his brows. "And you could not get her to talk?"
"I could not." Sebastian heaved in frustration.
"That’s interesting, when have you ever failed at obtaining information from someone?"
"That’s the problem, it rarely happens. I am Sebastian and the Gamma of Moonwood pack, I’m the most feared Gamma in other legions of Pack. But today, Gael today I felt weakness"
Gael tries to cool him by saying "we all have weaknesses."
"Not a woman, who might be in alignment with the enemies. I don’t want to ever be weak Gael. I am meant to be strong and stay strong to fight till my very last breath if it comes to that, for my pack. I don’t need a weakness that would make me hesitate in making decisions." Sebastian rushed his words. He kicked the grass in anger.
"Do you know her name?" Gael questioned and Sebastian shook his head saying no. "I could dig up some information about her if that makes you feel better. And besides, I’m pretty sure your meeting was purely coincidental. She might be in it with the enemies"
"She isn’t, she shot most of them that were shooting at us." Sebastian defended.
"Even at that, she might still be an enemy. Let’s just hope you never come across her again.
"Whatever she is, I want to keep her," Sebastian mumbles, surprising Gael and himself.
Sebastian was never one for relationships, he fucks for fun and he doesn’t fall in love. So hearing him say all this, was surprising Gael.
"I think we are being watched. I don’t know the angle the person is watching us from, so let’s move."
Without hesitation, Gael and Sebastian made a dash for it with breathtaking speed.
When they got to a safe distance, Sebastian stopped so they could catch their breath.
"Why are you here though?" Sebastian raised a question.
"You didn’t get my message?" Gael questioned.
"I obviously did not get a message from you Gael, if I did I would have responded and probably would not have asked you why you were here."
"Chill man," Gael cooled at Sebastian who only grunted. Sebastian was the gruesome one, no doubt.
"Theo sent a message, and he doesn’t want us waiting for him. He tasked us with something else to do before he returns."
"That’s it?" Sebastian asked him. "That’s what you left the pack grounds for to come to tell me?"
"He wants us revisiting the club."
Sebastian straightened up, now interested in what Their Alpha had tasked them with.
"He wants us to look for a Shaman… The young shaman. He believes he can find His mate."
