The President is Being Shameless Again-Chapter 320: Xu Moyan Was Stun
“But…” Xu Moyan did not want him thinking about dating her when he had been busy the entire day as well as the night before.
“Would you mind coming to my house to bake the cake instead? There’s an oven at home. Even though I haven’t used it before, but the equipment should be more than adequate,” Wei Zilin said.
Xu Moyan was stunned, so this… This was officially ‘going to his house’?
They had just barely started their relationship, and it was still technically the first day. Yet, here she was about to follow him home. Would it be inappropriate?
Xu Moyan was hesitant. Were they moving too fast?
Wei Zilin also found it a little difficult to continue explaining after he noticed Xu Moyan’s hesitation. He laughed in embarrassment, “Don’t misunderstand. I’m taking you home not because… Not for something else. I just wanted to see you and be in your company. I know you’re worried that I didn’t get enough rest, but I want to spend some time with you. I was thinking that maybe if you came to my house to bake the cake, I could take the opportunity to catch some sleep since you said it would take quite a while. I don’t… I don’t really intend on doing anything inappropriate to you.”
Did he really think so?
Wei Zilin blushed a little and pulled at his tie. If he got the opportunity, he would really like to kiss and hug her.
Wei Zilin was suddenly worried that his request might seem a little impatient and would give Xu Moyan second thoughts. Before she could answer, he said, “It’s okay. You don’t need to think on it too much. It’s wrong of me to be so inconsiderate…”
“We’ll go to your house,” Xu Moyan replied softly before he could finish his sentence.
As she was embarrassed over it, she kept her voice low while her face flared up, growing numb with heat.
However, Wei Zilin heard her and was momentarily stunned.
He paused before saying, “I’d love for you to come over, but if you feel uncomfortable about it, you don’t need to force yourself for my sake.”
Xu Moyan shook her head. “I don’t. I just don’t want you to get the impression that I’m overly compliant.”
Wei Zilin understood her hesitation. “I won’t think that way. I hope you don’t think I’m like that either. It was my fault for not thinking things through. I really didn’t put much thought into it before I made the suggestion. I just felt that it would be more convenient for us to meet at my house. You wanted me to catch some rest and I wanted to spend time with you. I know we’ve only just started this relationship and there are many things we are yet to learn about each other. I won’t act thoughtlessly around you and I don’t think you’re overly compliant.”
“I don’t think you are either,” Xu Moyan lowered her head and replied timidly.
She heard Wei Zilin laugh under his breath. “I was just looking up the latest movies that are showing in cinemas. I was wondering if you have a favorite genre.”
Speaking of movies, Xu Moyan suddenly remembered something.
“Should we… Watch ‘Massacre’ at your house?” Xu Moyan could not resist the temptation.
To watch ‘Massacre’ with the voice of Qi Shaofeng might open up the opportunity for her to hear him personally repeat the dialogue to her.
This was much better than watching a random film at a cinema.
Wei Zilin laughed casually and said with a smooth voice, “Okay. When you’ve finished baking the cake, we’ll have the cake and watch ‘Massacre’ together.”
Xu Moyan bit her lip. There was nothing that should be off-limits between them but now that the words were at the tip of her tongue, she felt a little hesitant and too embarrassed to say it aloud. “Were… Were you always aware that I was your fan?”
“When you came looking for Zheng Yuntong at the office on the second day of the YY event, I heard you joking around with Zheng Yuntong and apologizing to her. You said the exact same words to me the night before during the YY event. If you had said something else, I might have not recognized you. However, those were the exact same words you had said the night before, so I recognized your voice. After we had lunch, Shen Zongyi had also told me that Zheng Yuntong tried to find out from him if I had any hobbies. She told him she had a friend who was into voices. Naturally, I made the connection between you and Silent M.”
“I thought you didn’t know,” Xu Moyan mumbled quietly.
There was a warm smile in Wei Zilin’s eyes. It was the kind of warmth that lit up people’s hearts. “Are you mad at me because I kept this from you?”
She quickly clarified, “No, I’m not. I just feel that I’m always doing silly things in front of you. You’ve already seen through me and yet I kept trying to hide the truth and my urges from you, stupidly thinking that you’re not aware of them.”
“Well, let’s just say that I have a little stake in this. I knew that you liked my voice and it was an advantage. I was worried if I told you, you would avoid me because you were shy about it,” Wei Zilin smiled as he said.
This was admitting that he long had intentions toward her and was doing his best to get closer to Xu Moyan by using his voice to seduce her.
All the while, she was not the only one with a crush.
He had also been trying his best to get as close to her as possible.
This realization broke a wide smile on Xu Moyan’s face. Her row of pearly-white teeth was fully visible.
“I’ll wait for you at home. Be careful on the road. If you’re tired, don’t force yourself. It would be completely fine if you took a taxi here,” said Xu Moyan. She was not trying to deter him from coming, simply suggesting an alternative out of concern for his safety.
At the end of the day, it was impossible to stop this man from coming by.
“Okay,” Wei Zilin promised.
He hung up and was about to drive over when his phone rang.
Wei Zilin looked at the call and his expression turned from contentment to annoyance in an instant.
His handsome, elegant lips formed a cold stiff line before picking up the call. “Miss Liang.”
“I just saw the posts on Weibo. Do you really need to talk about me like that?” Liang Wenyin had read the Wei Zilin’s statement on Weibo. Netizens were coming together to call her out for being conniving and shameless.
Her plans had been completely ruined and have now backfired.
“If Miss Liang did not attempt to trap me if you did not post that ambiguous message on Weibo in the middle of the night, then there would be no reason to get embarrassed,” Wei Zilin replied, irritated.
“I am a lady after all, can’t you let me save face? Why did you choose to worsen the situation this way? Why couldn’t you have acted in my best interests? Even if you weren’t willing to do so, you could have come to me to discuss the situation and explain the misunderstanding. Couldn’t you have done that?” Liang Wenyin confronted him.
“When you entrapped me and created the rumor, why didn’t you discuss it with me then? From the very get-go, if you hadn’t created this situation, there would be no backfire. You entrapped me and later posted that message to mislead people. You don’t think that has caused me trouble? I would have considered saving your dignity, but after you posted that message, I didn’t think I was obliged to help you in any way. Besides, this has greatly upset my girlfriend. Between you and my girlfriend, why should I put my time into helping you at all?” Wei Zilin did not bother sugar-coating his words at all.
Liang Wenyin was stunned. “You really have a girlfriend?”
She had always thought that this was just Wei Zilin’s excuse.
Wei Zilin wanted to hang up, but he paused and added, “I really do, but this has nothing to do with Miss Liang. Miss Liang, from the moment you tried to get close to me and tried testing the waters, I’ve openly rejected you, not caring about your dignity at all. You should know that I’m not someone who has a soft spot for the opposite sex. I won’t be polite just because the other party is a woman.”
Liang Wenyin felt like something was jammed in her throat. She could not bring herself to say another word.
“So, Miss Liang, no matter what you do in the future, if you cross me, don’t condemn me for not saving your dignity. We have no relation to one another, and your dignity means nothing to me. If you want someone to give you respect, then you should earn it. There is no need for you to contact me anymore. Lu Lixin will help you with all work-related issues and both you and I have no connections on a personal level. If you are unhappy about this and do not want to work with Lin Yi anymore, you’re welcome to pull out anytime,” Wei Zilin hung up after he was done, not giving Liang Wenyin an opportunity to reply.
As for Liang Wenyin, she sat in shock in the office of her gallery. After listening to Wei Zilin’s harsh words, her face turned so stiff that she had no idea how to reply to him.
There has never been… Never been anyone who treated her this way before, like she was worthless!
…
After Wei Zilin finally got rid of Liang Wenyin, he immediately forgot about the situation. To him, Liang Wenyin was just a minor unpleasant interruption that did not bother him too much. She did not affect his mood in the slightest and did not come close to garnering his wrath.
Whenever anger is involved, there is bound to be some degree of impact. No matter the reason it pertained to, it would at the very least have some influence on his mood. However, Wei Zilin did not give that opportunity to Liang Wenyin.
Like an insect that lands on someone’s t-shirt in spring and summer. The moment it is spotted, it would be flicked away without a second thought and completely forgotten moments later.
There are thousands of flying insects. There is no way of knowing if it is the same insect that landed on one’s t-shirt.
Wei Zilin drove towards Sheng Town and passed by the supermarket he had visited with Xu Moyan. He turned to glance at it and thought about something. He was hesitant but he withdrew his foot from the car’s accelerator and slowed down.
After a few short moments, he turned the steering wheel and drove into the supermarket’s parking spot.
He walked towards the leisure section and picked a pair of women’s slippers. There were women’s slippers in his house, but it belonged to the housekeeper at home. There was no reason for Xu Moyan to have to wear the housekeeper’s slippers.
His fair, clean hands picked up the pair of slippers and he was about to leave when he spotted a pair of men’s slippers at the side. It was black with a simplistic design, but Wei Zilin recognized it. It was the same one Xu Moyan had bought for him.
That pair of slippers were now sitting in the home of Xu Moyan.
