Chapter 1420 Cloudy And His Unwanted Passenger (1)

Taking the form of a long chain that had serrated teeth throughout its length, Rowan marveled at this tool of butchery. Rowan grasped the chains with both hands, feeling the prickling of the sharp metallic teeth against his skin; this was a weapon that would shred through the hands and soul of any lesser immortal that sought to wield it; Rowan loved it.

The chains split in two at the middle and each part wrapped around his hands up to his shoulders before they transformed into a tattoo, and it barely took a thought to resummon them again, and he easily linked the chain back together. Rowan observed that he could easily use the chain as a single long weapon with both hands, or he could separate them and use his two hands to wield them.

He could feel the immense weight of the chain, almost as if each link were as heavy as a galaxy, and he knew that if he poured power into these chains they would keep growing heavier until they would crush everything in existence. Its length was only determined by Rowan's Will, and if his Will was strong enough, he could wrap all of existence with this chain.

Done with inspecting the material side of things, Rowan began to focus on the immaterial, the brand new Will born from the merger of three Sin Weapons. At first, he thought that the merger was a failure because the Will appeared extremely chaotic in his senses.

It did not even have a name, and it seemed that it was about to be shattered into nothingness at any random moment because something so haphazard could not last for long, but Rowan was intricately familiar with destruction, it had been woven into every fiber of his new body, and he could tell that although the Will of this weapon still had great room for growth, there was nothing wrong with the Will, it was simply the only way a lesser weapon could express a force that was as potent as Destruction, even though it was not the complete state of Destruction, this Will was firmly on the path of heading towards that power.

Rowan, not even thinking about his next actions, brought the chain to his mouth, and he tasted it; he closed his eyes as he savored the flavor of the Will it contained.

The Will of the Sin Weapon was a complex amalgamation of desire and unknown longing that felt extremely toxic on his senses and he was mostly immune to it because he was the owner of the weapons, anyone caught under the links of this chain would not only endure its weight, and the sharp teeth that would saw through anything, but this diabolical Will would drain them of all form of vitality and reason until they were nothing of who they once were.

This weapon would be a perfect fit for Vraegar, but Rowan did not think that the consciousness of his son was strong enough to wield it. The chains would sap the dragon of its Will and he would be nothing but a puppet. Perhaps in the future, if Vraegar survives and thrives, he will be granted this weapon.

Rowan felt his dimensional soul far in the distance shiver; this weapon was extremely linked to the forces of destruction, and as an Eclipsed Creator, he could feel how much deeper this combination of Sin Weapons had dragged them towards that aspect.

His touch began to nurture this weapon, using his higher control of Destruction to further cement the Will of this weapon into it, and every link in the chain hummed in pleasure, as the most minute of imperfections were erased from it, and the Sin Weapon was slowly evolving under his touch.

Rowan was lost in his craft and he was still admiring the new form of the Sin Weapons when reality ahead shattered and something massive came through, accompanied by a rather sorrowful cry that was like a song. Rowan looked up as a great whale that was bigger than a galaxy burst into the dead universe, its massive body crossing through space and time with its sorrowful song ringing ahead as if he was announcing his pitiful state to Rowan, which he was, the Cloud Whale had long seen Rowan as a benefactor, after all, he was the Magus Tower of Andar Erikson.

A million years ago, Andar had been given a Cloud Whale by his master, Jonathan Melbrooks, and during his time as an apprentice, he merged this Cloud Whale to his body using Scripts, and this Cloud Whale became a symbiotic partner with Andar, each gaining various benefits from this merger.

Although still referred to as a Cloud Whale, he had long evolved past that level into an unknown entity, but his name or moniker had never been changed.

Andar had called this Cloud Whale that he had decided to bring with him everywhere Cloudy. It was not a very imaginative name, but the Cloud Whale seemed to like it.

For a while in their synoptic relationship, it was as if the Cloud Whale had been the one to receive the greatest benefit without giving much in return because Andar hardly used it in battle and he was meant to be a mount meant for traversal through space, but would Andar's Light Devourer bloodline that was focused on speed, the Cloud Whale was left behind in that department, his use, however, became notable when Andar sought to build his Magus Tower.

The base of a Magus Tower could technically be constructed from any material. However, it would be foolish for any Archmage to construct the center of their entire dominion using materials that could not withstand the rigorous standards for a Magus Tower.

Usually, the search for the material required to build and upgrade a Magus Tower was an affair that would take the entire lifetime of most Magus, keeping them stuck at the level of an Archmage forever, unable to walk upon the higher dimensions, for a Magus Tower was the road a Mage uses to traverse the higher dimensional realms. Their Soul, Will, and every eventual higher dimensional ability that they would unlock were tied to their Tower.

Cloudy, who had been disregarded for a long time, became an obvious choice for Andar when he saw the physique of his Cloud Whale had evolved to a level that was almost defying comprehension. He was a perfect vessel for his Endless Vault Supreme Meditation Art, whose limits could only be defined by Andar's Will and the vessel that could hold its power.

Andar was able to push 600 fifth dimensional space into the Cloud Whale using his Endless Vault Meditation Art and there was still space for more growth. This also meant that unlike any immortal who had access to only one stream of time, Andar was second to Rowan as he now controlled over six hundred streams of time, making him by far one of the most powerful fifth-dimensional immortals in existence, and there was still space for his growth.

Usually, no Magus would want to build their Tower using a living being because any creature that was powerful enough to become the host of a Magus Tower was a higher dimensional being who had powerful Wills that could not be easily bent and there were great chances that even if those creatures were captured, they would not allow themselves to be used as the foundation for the rise of a Magus, because the Tower was parasitic and would drain them of their entire Will until they became mindless robots.

This also meant that the Magus's advancement would slow to a crawl as upgrading a living Tower that had been reduced to a shell of its previous glory was extremely difficult.

Cloudy relationship with Andar from the beginning was always one of symbiosis, even though Andar grew powerful too quickly to gain any tangible benefits from the Cloud Whale, there was never been any disagreement among their souls and when Andar noticed that his bloodline had evolved the Cloud Whale into a new extra-dimensional being whose physical presence was so solid that it had transcended the concept of space and time, he knew there could be no better option for his Tower.

Rowan had long been aware of his choice and he approved it, secretly he had been feeding this Cloud Whale a few drops of his essence anytime Andar came to visit his dimension, and it was a little secret that was kept between Cloudy and Rowan, and he had come to see this little whale as something of a pet.

Cloudy's cry made Rowan frown as he looked at the pitiful state of the Whale.

Trapping the Memory of an Old One came at a grave cost, and Cloudy had been the one to bear it.

The magnificent body of the Cloud Whale, which resembled a silver cloud made of starlight, was now dim and filled with massive bleeding wounds as if the Cloud Whale had been placed inside a blender filled with sharp teeth. However, such grievous injuries were the least of its problems. Overhead was a vast cloud of red that was slowly spreading all over the body of the Whale, and except for his clear eyes, Cloudy had nearly been corrupted by it.
