The Princess Kidnapping System Made Me OP-Chapter 81: Little Dragon
Chapter 81: Little Dragon
WHAM!
A vibration spread through the forest as multiple birds took flight, fleeing to the safety of the heavens.
"Ahhhh, why won’t you fucking break!" Aofie screamed in rage, just before slamming her fist against the tree once more.
Wise was seated some distance away from them, wrapped up in a warm blanket and sipping a cup of hot cocoa as he watched the girls.
It was the third day of their training, and the snow had intensified, completely covering the floors in white.
Not only was the cold more severe, but finding their footing was becoming increasingly difficult for the girls.
It was a harsh training condition and yet it was good, that way they would grow to be even stronger.
The trick to breaking the tree was to master energy control. Wise had picked the fattest possible trees just to make sure they could not punch it down by a fluke...
In order to destroy it, they would need to sharpen their energy, moulding it into something capable of causing exponential carnage.
Wise had already explained it to them, unlike his master who waited two months before telling him, yet they had not succeeded.
He took another sip of his coffee and smiled, closing his eyes for a moment to bask in the ecstasy of its taste.
Aofie was strong but not strong enough to tear down a tree with her bare hands, at least not yet...
If she wanted to take down that tree, she would have to master patience and self-control, an element she was lacking.
While she was busy pounding away at the tree, Daphne was sitting cross-legged, her eyes closed as she meditated.
Wise could see the spiritual energy in her hands buzzing and constantly changing forms, she was trying to manipulate it to become sharper, more deadly...
After some time, she opened her eyes and walked towards the tree. Daphne took a deep breath and pulled her hand back, and then with resounding force, she drove her hand into the tree.
BOOM!
The tree shook, its branches rustling in a frenzy. But at the point of contact—
A little splinter of wood flew out of the bark, bouncing on the floor and rolling to a stop.
"Keh—" Wise was about to laugh when Daphne glared at him, her cold gaze murderous.
He quickly turned his attention to the next princess.
Freya’s tree had marks on the bark from successive attempts to bring it down, all of which were unsuccessful, a drop in an infinitely large ocean.
Instead of uselessly punching the tree, Freya was doing push-ups, balancing her feet above a log for an inclined version of the technique.
Sweat glistened on her skin, running down her forehead to the tip of her nose before falling to the ground.
The surprising thing was that even as she did her workout, Wise could see the smoky aura of the basic technique on her palms, she was mastering control of it while putting her body through intense strain.
Wise nodded approvingly and turned to the last girl, Esme, only to frown.
’What is she doing?’ ƒгeewёbnovel.com
Esme seemed to be measuring the tree?
’So that is what she needed a tape for...’
The petite girl walked around the tree, a finger on her chin as she thought deeply.
Occasionally, she would pull out a book and scribble down a few words before continuing the process.
While she took measurements, the aura of smoke was still shrouding her hands, so she was technically still practising.
But unlike the rest, Esme had not attempted to take down the tree, not even once.
Wrapping himself properly in his blanket, Wise leaned back on his chair.
He flicked his finger towards a pile of wood he had arranged beforehand and it sparked to life, pushing back the cold.
Wise closed his eyes and embraced the darkness. ’This is going to take a while...’
***
A little blue dragon, just about the size of a small carriage, was flying unstably above the clouds, its blue wings glistening like sapphires as the sun reflected against it, causing the little dragon to glimmer.
"Just like that, two flaps and then soar," came a domineering but gentle voice from beside the dragon.
Doing as it had heard, the little dragon flapped twice, gaining elevation, before soaring with the wind, its wings catching the air.
As though embraced by the air, the little dragon’s speed surged, its body moving like an arrow through the sky.
"I’m doing it, mum, I’m doing it!" He turned to his side, where his mother, a colossal dragon, was watching him tenderly.
She laughed, her voice ethereal and ancient. "Yes, my little dragon, soon you’ll be able to reach the outer world, where big dragons like us soar."
The outer world...
The little dragon had grown up hearing epic tales about that place, a place above the blue skies.
All mature Sky dragons had gone there at least once in their lives, it was only when they did that they would be branded, gaining even greater power.
In his little moment of distraction, the little dragon failed to react on time when a heavy gust of wind blew past him.
The wind caught his wings in the wrong way and the dragon tilted nose down, charging down with a speed that it could not control.
"Eek!" the little dragon yelled as it tore past the first layer of clouds, its moist layers washing over his skin.
"MOM! MOMMM!!"
There was no response and the dragon was already making out the ground below it, it would crash soon, and his body would break, making him unable to fly.
Panic dominated his mind and he tried to control himself, he was flapping his wings repeatedly, trying to gain control but nothing worked.
Then the little dragon calmed itself, his heart still racing in its chest.
’Two flaps then soar...’ it repeated in its head.
Whom!
With difficulty, the little dragon flapped twice, righting its descent, and then it spread out its wings, catching the wind and slowing down to a halt, just as its feet made contact with the ground.
A large shadow, one that was many times greater than him, blanketed his tiny body as his mother landed beside him with a bang that shook the earth.
"That’s my boy!"
