Chapter 232: Chapter 232: Who is the Strongest in The Dark Division (1)_1

"Grandpa, I understand," said Situ Xin, stretching out one arm that was holding Baibai and hugging Old Master Loo’s waist, fighting back the tears in her eyes.

"Old Lu, this..." Old Master Situ began to say something, frowning, as Old Master Loo agreed, but he was cut off before he could finish. "Situ, the child is grown now, we should start to let go appropriately. We just need to watch from behind and be their steadfast support," Old Master Loo interrupted.

Carrying Baibai, Situ Xin approached the higher-ups of The Dark Division, scanning them with a faint smile in her eyes before finally resting her gaze on Xiang Yang, who had stepped forward first to speak. "Are you their leader?" she asked, lifting a hand to point at the rest and speaking with absolute certainty.

The atmosphere quieted down abruptly as Situ Xin, with Baibai in her arms, walked over. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on her, carefully observing her every move.

"Yes," Xiang Yang, who was pointed out, stepped forward and replied. Possibly because of Situ Xin’s exquisitely delicate face, or perhaps her young age, his voice softened unconsciously as he responded to Situ Xin, so much so that even he didn’t notice.

After receiving Xiang Yang’s answer, Situ Xin nodded, then casually asked, "So The Dark Division believes in strength as the deciding factor? If one can prove to be stronger than anyone from The Dark Division, they can become the Leader, and you all would submit unconditionally?" Situ Xin paused, glanced at the people before her once more, and added, "And none of this has anything to do with age, right?"

"Exactly, as long as you have the strength to defeat us, we’ll recognize your position as the leader," the only woman among The Dark Division’s senior members spoke up with pride before Xiang Yang could respond to Situ Xin.

None of The Dark Division’s members present objected to what the woman had said, and their faces showed no disagreement. Situ Xin realized that what this woman had expressed was likely what everyone else was thinking too.

Situ Xin nodded and said, "A contest, then? I don’t mind. Are a few of you enough to represent all of The Dark Division, or should we call everyone to the training field before we begin the contest?" Situ Xin asked, not just thinking of the prideful nature of The Dark Division’s members. If, after the contest was over, the others who hadn’t been present found excuses to challenge her due to non-acceptance, she would have to compete again.

Adhering to the principle that avoiding extra trouble is best, Situ Xin wouldn’t possibly leave any stones unturned, to avoid any needless complications later on.

"Let’s do this—call everyone from The Dark Division to the training field," Old Deng suggested, relieved as soon as Situ Xin had made her stance clear. He knew that once Situ Xin had firmly established her position, the two old masters would ultimately agree. Just as Situ Xin made her proposal, Old Deng eagerly chimed in.

The Dark Division’s senior members exchanged glances. Then, the scholarly-looking man who had just greeted Old Deng turned and left.

After the scholarly-looking man had departed, Xiang Yang spoke to Old Deng: "Old Deng, let’s go to the training field and wait," suggesting that since Old Deng was advanced in years and had been standing for a long while, it’d be better to sit and wait inside where it was more comfortable.

"Alright, let’s go inside," they agreed.

The Dark Division prized skill over numbers, so there weren’t many of them, only about thirty in total. Excluding those out on missions, the rest gathered in The Dark Division’s training field.

As the thirty or so people stood in the vast space of the training field, it looked particularly empty.

"Now that everyone is here, let’s begin," Old Deng announced loudly, seeing that nearly everyone had arrived.

"Yes, Old Deng. How shall we conduct this contest?" Xiang Yang initially agreed with this contest, but seeing the particularly petite Situ Xin among the crowd, he felt as though they were bullying a child.

Old Deng didn’t answer Xiang Yang’s question but instead turned to Situ Xin with a smiling face and asked, "Xiao Xin, how do you think we should conduct the contest?" Gently stroking the soft tiger fur of Baibai with one hand, she said, "I’ll contest with whoever is the strongest in The Dark Division."

"Baby," Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo called out to her, still worried.

"Grandpa, Grandpa Loo, don’t worry," Situ Xin reassured them with a confident look and turned back to Old Deng. "Grandpa Deng, I don’t like trouble. Just bring out the strongest person in The Dark Division. If I win, then everyone must follow my orders unconditionally. If I lose, then I have nothing to say and won’t step in to take over The Dark Division."

No sooner had Situ Xin finished speaking than Old Deng called out anxiously: "Xiao Xin." Although he knew Situ Xin was formidable, he had never seen her true strength, so in his mind, she definitely wouldn’t be a match for some in The Dark Division, especially the strongest one.

The Dark Division members present gaped and gasped when they heard Situ Xin’s words. They were well aware that their strongest member was not to be underestimated; each one of them had suffered defeat at his hands, with getting off lightly meaning only losing a layer of skin.

"Grandpa Deng, don’t say anything more. You only need to say whether we will contest or not. If not, I’m going back to rest." Situ Xin was getting tired after all this commotion. More importantly, she was hungry.

When Situ Xin proposed to contest with the strongest person in The Dark Division, Xiang Yang’s brow furrowed. Knowing he was the one with the highest skill in The Dark Division, he really didn’t want to fight the doll-like little girl before him.

Seeing the resolute look on Situ Xin’s face and her faint impatience, Old Deng sighed inwardly and said to Xiang Yang, "Xiang Yang, go and contest with Xiao Xin. But be careful, and just make the point without hurting her," Old Deng added, still concerned.
