The Regressor's Younger Brother's Insanity-Chapter 54: Gluttony
Cierra, Thalia, and Solmira were hugging each other as the explosion occurred.
But even after the sound of the explosion, they were still breathing.
"Hmm." Thalia opened her eyes and looked in the direction where the dragon was.
!!!!
But she saw something unexpected.
"What..!!" Thalia’s eyes trembled violently. This was a familiar scene to her.
Hearing Thalia’s reaction, Cierra also opened her eyes and saw why she was shaking.
The reason for her reaction was that they were not on the battlefield, but in a dark space.
A vast darkness stretched out before them.
"Where are we?" Cierra asked in confusion. "Where is Aether?"
Thalia didn’t look at her, as she was confused herself, but one thing was clear.
"This is the same sealing spell my brother used on me."
"What!!" Cierra’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"Maybe, before the explosion happened, he sacrificed himself and sealed us in this spell." Thalia said in a low voice.
Thalia was devastated by the fact that she had again become a burden to someone. And just like her big brother, another person had stepped in to save her.
It felt all wrong.
Meanwhile, Solmira was unconscious. Before the explosion happened, she had passed out from tension and horror.
Cierra hugged her tightly and cried loudly. She was also devastated. Her heart ached more than she could handle, throbbing wildly.
"Aetherrrr! You promised you’d marry me! So why, why, whyyyyy are you leaving me alonee!" Tears fell from her eyes, soaking her clothes.
When they were little, Aether had promised to marry her when they grew up.
Well, it was mainly just words, as Aether needed alone time and Cierra kept disturbing him. So he said something embarrassing, and Cierra feeling shy run away.
"Aetherr..." Cierra’s face was covered in tears, and her breath was choked, as if she might die from lack of oxygen.
Just then, the vast dark space started crumbling like particles, and the outside came into view.
"Hm..." Cierra stopped crying and looked outside.
Thalia was also facing outward. She felt guilty for Aether’s sacrifice, and saw the space was crumbling.
She was also confused.
This space wasn’t something that could be broken through by outside force. Does that mean Aether defeated the dragon?
But Thalia was wrong to think that this vast darkness was similar to her brother’s dark spell.
The skill Aether used on them was Gluttony. It’s a skill that can also store people. But the downside is that if Aether fell unconscious, Gluttony would be undone.
Crack! Fwooosh!
The dark space crumbled completely, and the battlefield came into view.
They saw that the whole forest had turned into a barren land. And the dragon was still in the sky, watching them.
"Aether..." Cierra cried out.
Aether was standing in front of them, but his condition was the worst.
His light red hair and the dark energy had vanished, and there was no skin on his body, as if he had been burned to a crisp. He was also completely naked.
There was a hole in the left side of his abdomen. His left hand was gone as well.
It was truly a cruel display of pain. Seeing him like that, Cierra’s legs grew weak, and she fell to the ground.
Thalia then supported her. She knew about his super regeneration, unlike Cierra.
But could he really heal from this? Last time it was just his hands, but now there was no skin over his body, and the hole in his abdomen was severe.
Thalia was worried and prayed that he would be okay.
Just then, Aether twitched, and his damaged body slowly began to heal.

Slowly, his burned body and severely damaged organs began swirling in a dark wave.
After some time, Aether was completely healed. During his healing, the dragon did not attack.
The dragon wasn’t a high-ranking dragon and could only unleash one dragon breath per day. So he wanted to play safe.
"I should take you instead of that half-human girl. Your tricks are worthy of that man. Maybe he will overlook my past mistake."
The dragon was referring to the incident with the Soulborne and Franklin. For that incident, he had been humiliated and threatened with death, but he begged that man and narrowly escaped.
But if he could take Aether, who could completely heal from his nearly dead body, that would greatly increase his value in the organization.
"Hey, human. Come with me. I swear on my name that I’ll spare that half-dragon girl and those bitches around you." the dragon said.
He knew how humans acted. If asked to spare their loved ones, they would give their lives willingly. So he assumed Aether would accept his offer.
Well, I’ll come back later for the half-dragon girl. Let’s just take this human and offer him as a sacrifice to that man, the dragon schemed.
Meanwhile, Aether looked at Solmira and then turned toward the dragon.
"I accept your offer. Just swear you won’t harm my family."
"Kekekekek." the dragon laughed like a madman, thinking Aether had fallen for his scheme.
But Aether accepted his offer so he could get close to the dragon and unleash his hidden card.
"Aether... don’t..." Cierra, half-conscious, tried to stop him, but Aether ignored her.
"Aether!" Thalia also cried out. She didn’t want to see another sacrifice for her, but Aether ignored her as well.
The dragon then came down and signaled Aether to climb onto it.
Aether climbed onto it, and the dragon took flight into the sky.
"Aether... nooooooo!" Cierra cried as she crawled on the ground.
Thalia stood frozen beside her. Unexpectedly, she felt a pain in her heart, as if her loved one had sacrificed himself. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

In the sky above the battlefield,
"You made the right decision in coming with me." the dragon said, praising Aether’s foolishness.
Aether smiled eerily, raising his hand above his head.
The dragon was confused as to why he was laughing.
Just then,
a skull-shaped potion appeared in Aether’s hand. He had taken it out of his system inventory.
"What is that, human?"
"I was just too focused on relationships that I forgot about my revenge."
"What?"
Crack!
Aether cracked the skull-shaped potion. A crimson, blood-like substance poured out of it and spilled onto his head.
