The School Beauty's Super Rogue-Chapter 250 - 248: My Mom Lives Here?
Chapter 250: Chapter 248: My Mom Lives Here?
A day quietly passed, and soon it was the day before the engagement party.
The guest list and preparations for the wedding banquet were nearly complete.
At this moment, Qin Hao stood before a European-style garden house at Nanshan Courtyard.
Lush shrubs were neatly trimmed, enclosing the villa with a green low wall. Behind the shrubs were flower beds, and some unidentifiable vines climbed the shrub wall, blooming with small pink and white flowers.
Through the low shrub wall, two servants were busy beside an outdoor swimming pool in the courtyard, constantly changing the water.
Such a scene naturally did not belong to an ordinary family.
On the front door of the villa, obscured by lush ivy, a slightly protruding inconspicuous stone brick bore a few carved lines, appearing very modest.
Ye Mansion, Nanshan Courtyard Area C, Building 07.
Qin Hao’s gaze lingered on Ye Mansion for a long time, and in that moment, he could not muster the courage to press the doorbell beside him.
Because this Ye Mansion was his mother’s natal home, Ye Quanming’s family!
So close to home yet so apprehensive, not daring to ask anyone. That was roughly the feeling.
Over these three years, Qin Hao had imagined countless times the scene of mother and son meeting again. Those humiliating memories from before were deeply etched in his mind, making sleep elusive and meals tasteless!
"Mom, today I finally have the strength to protect you. From now on, I won’t let you suffer even the slightest grievance!"
Qin Hao’s eyes were slightly red. Taking a deep breath, he finally extended his hand towards the doorbell. And just at that moment, a crude shout came from afar.
"Hey, what’s going on here? What are you sneaking around for?"
Qin Hao furrowed his brows and looked towards the voice. Following the rude shout, a short, stout cook hurried over, wearing an apron.
Seeing this person, a smile immediately appeared on Qin Hao’s face. This person was none other than Nanny Chen. She was his mother’s most intimate and loyal servant. Despite her loud voice, she had a soft heart. When his mother was expelled from the Qin Family, Nanny Chen resolutely went with her back to the Ye Family, enduring much undeserved hardship.
Nanny Chen halted upon seeing Qin Hao, apparently incredulous as she rubbed her eyes, then quickly ran to the front door.
"Young Master Qin, is that you?"
Qin Hao felt warmth in his heart. After being cast out, only Nanny Chen continued to call him Young Master Qin. Her attitude towards him had never changed even a bit.
In this contrasting Qin Family and Ye Mansion, aside from his mother’s tender care, the only warmth Qin Hao felt was from Nanny Chen.
He looked at Nanny Chen and nodded vigorously, saying, "It’s me, Nanny Chen, I’ve returned."
"Oh my goodness, it’s really you, Young Master Chen! Am I dreaming?"
Nanny Chen was suddenly so excited that she danced and rushed to open the door, pulling Qin Hao inside.
"Where have you been these three years? Why haven’t we heard a single word? Ah, right, I must hurry and inform madam; she’ll be beside herself with joy when she finds out!"
Qin Hao watched Nanny Chen’s genuine joy and excitement, a warm current flowed through his heart. The world had treated him with such cruelty, so every bit of warmth he felt was carefully cherished and hidden deep inside.
Nanny Chen was excited for a while, but then she quickly came back to reality, and her face showed a hint of worry. She was well aware of how Qin Hao had been expelled and shunned by both the Qin and Ye families. Though Qin Hao had safely returned, it was indeed a joy. But would the Ye Family accept him?
Just as this thought arose, a sharp and clear voice sounded behind Nanny Chen.
"What’s going on? Nanny Chen, did someone come just now?"
To be fair, the voice was very pleasing to the ear, but carried a tone of sharpness and indifference that made it uncomfortable to listen to.
Qin Hao looked towards the voice’s owner, a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl who was remarkably beautiful but carried an inherent sense of superiority.
Nanny Chen’s face immediately showed some panic as she was about to turn around to explain, but Qin Hao had already taken a step forward, pulling Nanny Chen behind him, and then loudly addressing the girl, "Of course, there’s a guest in the house, and the adults don’t even know to come out and greet them?"
The girl frowned at his words, stared at Qin Hao’s face for a good while, then asked somewhat uncertainly, "Qin Hao?"
Qin Hao was taken aback upon hearing this. In his memory, he hadn’t seen this girl before, so he responded, "Oh, you know me?"
Upon confirmation from Qin Hao, the girl’s face showed a peculiar excitement as if she had found something amusing, laughing loudly, "Hahaha! Qin Hao, it’s really you!"
"The wastrel cast out by the Qin Family, the disgrace of our Ye Family. Who wouldn’t know the infamous Qin Hao like a clown?"
Qin Hao searched his memory forcefully, and the shadow of a fourteen-year-old innocent girl three years ago gradually overlapped with the proud young woman before him.
He smiled helplessly and shook his head without saying anything.
Three years had gone by, and the once inexperienced young girl had fully transformed into a restless and arrogant spoiled heir. He was here today just to see his mother, with no intention of stirring up trouble.
As for who truly is the laughingstock, he really couldn’t be bothered to prove it to such insignificant people.
Turning to Nanny Chen, Qin Hao said, "How is my mom?"
Nanny Chen nodded vigorously and said, "Good! She’s doing well, though her health isn’t what it used to be as she’s gotten older over the past two years."
"And she misses you, Young Master Qin. Madam is always thinking about you, calling your name in her dreams every night."
Hearing this, Qin Hao felt a sharp ache in his heart. He clenched his fists tightly, calming his emotions for a long while before suppressing the overflow and said, "Then, Nanny Chen, please take me to see my mom."
Tears shimmered in Nanny Chen’s eyes as she nodded heavily, yet hesitated as she glanced behind her, eventually voicing her concerns, "But, Young Master Qin, do you think we should...?"
Understanding Nanny Chen’s worries about the Ye Family’s obstruction, Qin Hao smiled slightly and interrupted her directly, saying, "Just clowns, we need not heed them."
Qin Hao did not lower the volume of his comment, so naturally, it reached the girl’s ears clearly. Her beautiful face flushed red, her eyebrows standing upright as she pointed at Qin Hao in fury, "You wretch! Who are you calling clowns?"
"Just a kicked-out dog from the Qin Family, yet you speak so arrogantly after three years!"
As she finished speaking, a handsome young man peeked from the balcony railing on the second floor. With a light tap on the rail, he descended like a nimble swallow to the girl’s side.
The entire process made no sound, and added to the youth’s elegant appearance, it was truly a sight to behold. Seeing the man, the girl felt as if she had found her support, she proudly stood with arms akimbo, pointing at Qin Hao and said:
"Brother, the wastrel from the Qin Family had the nerve to return today and even dared insult me!"
The man was just over twenty and frowned at her words, looking at Qin Hao and saying, "Heh, Qin Hao, you dare come back? How do you have the face to return?"
Qin Hao said nothing, pulling Nanny Chen along as he turned to leave. His eagerness to see his mother overshadowed the bothersome noise from these few useless people.
Seeing Qin Hao’s calm demeanor, Nanny Chen felt her worries lessen significantly. She had feared initially that Qin Hao might lose his temper and clash with the Ye Family, leading to him getting injured and expelled again, which would upset his mother even more.
The Ye Mansion occupied a considerable area, with a main building front and another smaller one at the back, meant for servants and workers.
Qin Hao glanced over the garage and utility room, then at the low two-story building, his face darkening as he said, "Is my mom living here now?"
