The Seductive Pretty Boy of the Matriarchal World-Chapter 33: Preparation
Just then, a familiar figure appeared up ahead.
Elias Kane raised an eyebrow slightly, pretending he hadn’t seen Liora Voss, but he didn’t try to dodge either—he just kept walking straight past her.
Liora Voss watched him act like she wasn’t even there, took a step, and with those long legs of hers covered the distance in just a few strides. She blocked his path and said coolly, "That’s the second time."
Elias of course knew she was counting the times he’d ignored her. He didn’t confirm or deny it, just looked up at her. "You here for a chance encounter too?"
"Too?" Liora caught the word instantly and smiled.
Elias didn’t explain. He knew she understood exactly what he meant by it. He just gave her a teasing grin. "Little Liora, where’s my imperial carriage?"
"The car’s at the back gate..."
She got halfway through the sentence before realizing he was messing with her. She wasn’t annoyed, just let out a soft scoff. "Men want to be emperor too?"
"That’s biased. That’s straight-up discrimination against men!" Elias threw a mock punch in the air for men’s rights, then rolled his eyes. "Besides, weren’t there male emperors in history? What about Catherine the Great? What were you doing all through grade school, staring out the window?"
(A/N: In this matriarchal world, Catherine is a man. History is reversed on purpose.)
Liora almost laughed out a "Really," but the word died on her lips as something occurred to her.
Her exchanges with Elias felt way too natural. This didn’t seem like two people who had only known each other a few days—it felt more like they’d been opposite-sex friends for years.
She had slipped into his rhythm so easily, even though she had been the one to speak first and hadn’t resisted at all in the beginning.
She was getting carried away.
Playing with fire was thrilling, but sooner or later it would burn her alive.
That was the realization Liora Voss had come to in the quiet.
It was such a simple truth—she should have understood it without having to think.
Once she did, she fell silent, refusing to respond no matter what Elias said.
Seeing that, Elias raised an eyebrow again. He knew immediately: Liora was trying to "quit" him again.
But was he that easy to quit?
Elias gave a faint smile, completely unbothered, and kept his mouth shut for the time being.
Liora’s luxury car was parked at the school’s back gate this time, not the front.
Elias noticed the detail and narrowed his eyes. Was this... so he wouldn’t be embarrassed the way he had been at the front gate last time?
Tsk. She was already thinking about his feelings.
How sweet. In that case, he’d reward her...
By letting her watch him fuck Serena Blackwood.
The headlights flashed a couple times as the doors unlocked. Liora still didn’t say a word—she simply opened the door in silence.
The corner of Elias’s mouth curved up. He pulled open the passenger door, slid into the seat, and started talking to her again like nothing had happened. "Your sister really is a dog, huh? It hasn’t even been twenty-four hours and she’s already in heat again. Want to take her to get spayed? Constantly going into heat can’t be good for her..."
His tone was casual, as if the silence earlier had never existed.
"Hey?!" Elias suddenly raised his voice, crossed his arms, and stared at her with a cold laugh. "Only listening, no talking? What, you learning from Giselle how to play the untouchable ice queen? Sorry, other people won’t give you that half-smile look."
Liora immediately smoothed the unconscious curl at the corner of her mouth, refused to look at him, and said flatly, "Nothing to say. Buckle your seatbelt."
"Hmph." Elias gave a cold huff. Even though he was annoyed with Liora, he still obediently buckled up. He was a rule-follower, after all—no matter what kind of rules.
The car started moving. Elias turned to look at the silent, determined-to-be-an-iceberg Liora Voss. "Next time before you come, can you give me a heads-up? I know you have my number."
Seeing she still wouldn’t respond, Elias reached out and poked her in the waist, over and over. "Stop pretending to be deaf... stop pretending to be deaf..."
"You’re not ticklish?" Elias looked at her in disbelief. He had scratched her so many times and she hadn’t moved an inch.
Suddenly he grabbed the seatbelt with both hands, yanked it out to its full length, stood up fast, leaned right next to Liora’s ear, and blew a puff of warm breath across it, accompanied by a soft, sweet...
"Meow~"
"Ah!"
The seatbelt snapped tight. Elias was yanked straight back into his seat, his back slamming hard against the cushion. He sucked in a sharp breath.
Felt so good...
Liora slammed on the brakes and whipped her head around to glare at him, voice icy. "If you actually want to die, you don’t have to make it this complicated. Just pick a classroom building and jump off the top. Don’t drag other people into it!"
"You yelled at me!" Elias’s eyes went wide and round, as if he couldn’t believe she would speak to him that way. He looked on the verge of tears.
The wronged tone in his voice gave Liora a split-second illusion that she was the one who had done something wrong. She snapped out of it immediately and said coldly, "I was trying to calm down someone who sounded suicidal."
"It’s because you were ignoring me." Elias puffed his cheeks out like a sulking boyfriend.
Liora drew in a slow, deep breath and said evenly, "What did you say? I didn’t catch it just now."
She knew that if she kept ignoring this little drama king, he was capable of doing something even crazier.
Elias shot her a glance. Sure enough, these bitches only behaved when you forced them.
He repeated the words exactly. "I said, next time before you come, remember to call me first so I can get ready."
The question had turned into a statement.
Liora seemed to know exactly where he was going and finished the sentence for him. "Get ready to get in bed?"
She gave a contemptuous little laugh. She had seen through all his tricks by now. They didn’t work on her anymore.
Then she saw Elias slowly curl his lips into a smile.
"Not that." His voice turned exaggeratedly coy, but his expression was as innocent and pure as a child’s. "So I can get my body..."
"Clean first."
