The Seductive Pretty Boy of the Matriarchal World-Chapter 34: Sit on My Lap
Liora Voss hit the brakes once again, turning her head to fix Elias Kane with an unblinking stare, as if trying to see whether this guy had any sense of shame at all.
Clearly, he didn’t. Elias didn’t show a hint of embarrassment. Instead, he raised an eyebrow at her. "What? You wanna fuck me? Already tired of your women?"
Liora’s grip on the steering wheel tightened hard. Her words came out slow, almost one by one. "If you keep acting like that, I’ll throw you out of the car."
Elias muttered carelessly, "I thought you were taking me to the hospital for a fever shot... Hey, hey, hey!"
Seeing Liora reach a hand toward him, Elias quickly shrank away to the far side, then made a zipping motion across his lips to show he’d stay quiet.
Only then did Liora pull her hand back. She noticed that her palm had somehow broken out in a sweat, leaving it slightly sticky.
Without a word, she wiped it on her clothes, gripped the wheel again, and restarted the car.
For the rest of the drive, Elias really did behave himself, though he kept glancing over at Liora from time to time. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Liora only caught it from the corner of her eye and couldn’t clearly see the look in his eyes, but she could vaguely sense that he was smiling.
Elias was indeed smiling, a faint trace of mockery in his amused gaze.
[Liora Voss favorability increased. Current: 26%.]
She clearly loved it so much, yet refused to admit it when she was in the mood. Stubborn to the bitter end.
Elias turned his head to look out the window and realized this wasn’t the route to the hotel. It was the way to that high-end restaurant Liora had taken him to the very first time.
He looked back over, reached out a finger, and poked her in the waist dimple again.
Thankfully they were waiting at a red light, so Liora didn’t have to slam the brakes. She turned to him, anger creeping into her voice. "What?"
"Aaaaah..." Elias opened his mouth wide like he was trying to say something, but only incoherent sounds came out.
Liora wondered for a second if her ears were broken. "What did you say?"
Elias looked even more frantic than her, making "eeh-eeh-yah-yah" noises, moving his lips nonstop, even raising both hands to gesture wildly. But no clear words came out.
Liora seemed to understand and let out a laugh born of pure irritation. "I told you to stop acting up, not to go mute. Use actual words!"
Elias, who appeared loyal on the surface but was full of rebellion, had turned her own threat against her.
Having regained the freedom to speak through his drama-queen tactics, Elias finally returned to normal. "You’re taking me out to eat?"
The light turned green. Liora started driving again and answered, "Mm."
Elias suddenly leaned in close, like he was sharing a secret, deliberately lowering his voice. "Just the two of us?"
Liora: "My sister’s there too."
"Oh." Elias immediately lost interest and sat back.
He knew it was probably Serena Blackwood who had called for him, but he had still hoped Liora might suddenly come to her senses and want a secret little rendezvous with him.
Liora caught the disappointment in his tone. She knew exactly what he had been hoping for, but her expression remained unchanged as she pretended not to.
They arrived at the high-end restaurant. Elias had been here once before. His memory was excellent—he could remember any place he’d visited perfectly after just one time.
He didn’t need Liora to lead the way at all and headed straight to the same floor as last time.
But unlike last time, even though it was mealtime in the afternoon, the entire floor was eerily quiet. The silence felt strangely off.
Elias suddenly stopped in his tracks, then turned and jogged back to hide behind Liora, shivering. His voice trembled. "Everyone here isn’t dead already, right? The second we push open the door, a bunch of zombies are gonna come rushing out..."
Liora looked at the boy cowering behind her, brows tightly furrowed. There was a trace of helplessness in her eyes that even she herself didn’t notice. "What the hell is going on in that head of yours every day?"
Or were all men’s thought processes as weird as Elias’s?
"When a guy says he’s scared, you’re supposed to pull him tight into your arms and comfort him, ’Baby, don’t be afraid. I’m right here.’" Elias stepped out from behind her. As he brushed past, he gave her a retaliatory bump with his shoulder and tossed two faint words at her. "Boring."
He pushed the door open and walked into the restaurant. The only person there was standing by the window, looking down. Her posture was like a queen surveying the kingdom she had built with her own hands. For that instant, her aura bore an uncanny resemblance to the empress Seraphina Hale had portrayed in the movie.
Only then did Elias realize—Serena Blackwood had reserved the entire floor. No wonder there was no one else around.
Heh. Capitalist. Eaten yet? If not, here’s a punch from me!
The place was so quiet that even the slightest sound got amplified. Serena knew Elias had arrived and walked slowly toward him, her face wearing the gentle expression from their very first meeting. She even pulled out a chair for him herself. "Have a seat."
So ladylike?
Elias glanced at Serena. He had already exposed her true face, yet here she was putting on this act—gentler than before even. He wondered what new scheme she had up her sleeve this time.
But whatever her scheme was, he was game for anything.
Elias sat down without hesitation.
Serena smiled faintly. "No thank you?"
"Thanks." Elias flashed a quick smile, then waved her off. "The master is about to dine now. You may withdraw."
He was treating her like a servant.
Serena’s eyes sharpened instantly. She was about to speak. "You..."
Bang.
Liora closed the door and walked over, giving Serena a light smile. "Sis, I haven’t eaten yet either. Got a seat for me?"
"You actually have the time?" Serena shifted her gaze from Elias’s face, looking up at Liora with genuine surprise. "None of your little sisters asked you out to eat?"
"There were some." Liora’s eyes held a trace of complaint as she looked at Serena, but mostly amusement. "You had me go pick up your little lover, so I had to turn down all my lovers’ invitations, didn’t I?"
Serena lightly patted her forehead and laughed. "My bad. Then big sis will treat you today. It’s been a while since we ate together."
"Sounds good." Liora agreed, but then noticed there were only two seats. "I’ll go grab another chair."
"No need."
Serena stopped her, sat down in her chair, turned slightly to the side and extended one leg. She patted her thigh with her palm, her eyes cold as they fixed on Elias. In a flat tone, she said to him, "Come here. Sit on my lap."
