The Seven Sisters and Their Hidden King-Chapter 140 – Fourth Sister Was Coming Back
Chapter 140 - 140 – Fourth Sister Was Coming Back
The night was as dark as ink.
Outside a luxurious private villa, a shadowy figure scaled the wall like a ghost and leapt silently onto the second-floor balcony.
John sighed to himself.
"As the King of Horizon, I never thought I'd one day be sneaking around like this. If word got out, I'd be laughed into oblivion."
When he was certain the villa was empty, he slipped into the bedroom and found the safe he was looking for.
Click.
He pried it open, retrieved the documents, and disappeared into the night.
The next morning brought a bombshell.
Carlos was abruptly taken away by the authorities for investigation. Someone had handed over his black account book—a detailed record of years' worth of illicit financial dealings, including transactions involving several senior officials.
Carlos was stunned. But deep down, he understood exactly what had happened.
He should never have stayed at his secretary's place last night. That's where the safe had been. And now it was empty.
At the Yeats Family Home
Nick and Marcia were eating lunch when the doorbell rang.
Nick opened it to find Justin standing outside.
"Justin! Come on in!" Marcia said warmly. "We're just having lunch. Join us!"
"Thank you, Auntie, but I've already eaten."
Justin stepped in and set down a basket of fruit and a bottle of wine on the coffee table. Looking around, he asked, "Is Queenie here?"
He was here with a purpose—to see Queenie.
Persistence was key when pursuing a woman, he believed. Maybe, just maybe, his sincerity would win her over someday.
Marcia's smile faltered for a moment.
Nick gave a forced chuckle and said, "Well... Queenie's gone back to New York. But she visits us often."
In truth, it was the opposite. They went to New York far more often than she came home.
Justin's expression darkened. "Is she still... with that guy, John?"
There was a clear edge in his voice.
Nick and Marcia exchanged glances. Eventually, Marcia decided to address it directly.
"Justin," she said gently, "you know how Queenie feels. Her heart is with John. We've tried to change her mind, but... we've decided not to interfere in young people's matters."
Justin was no fool. He understood immediately—Marcia had accepted John and Queenie's relationship.
What a joke.
Just a few months ago, these very people had been eager to set him up with Queenie. Now they were telling him not to interfere?
His face turned sour.
He had fallen hard for Queenie from the moment he met her. And who wouldn't? With her beauty, grace, and elegance, she was the kind of woman any man would be smitten with.
He clenched his jaw but forced a smile.
"Well then... enjoy your meal, Uncle, Auntie. I'll be going."
With that, he left without another word.
Nick sighed deeply. "See? This is all your fault. If you hadn't tried to match Queenie with him, none of this would've happened."
"Oh? Now it's my fault?" Marcia shot back. "Didn't you agree to it too?"
"Fine, we were both wrong. We never imagined John would be this... exceptional."
Later that day, John received news that his Fourth Sister—nicknamed the Demon King—would be returning soon.
Although he had heard much about her, he had never met her in person. He had long admired her from afar.
John's eyes lit up. "When we meet, I want to see how I compare to her."
"She's only staying for a few days," Queenie reminded him. "You should go pick her up at the airport."
"No problem," John said with a smile.
"I'll take you shopping for some decent clothes later," Queenie added.
"That's not necessary. I think what I have is fine..."
"Be good!"
Queenie raised her eyebrows, putting on her big-sister tone. But a second later, she softened, clinging to his arm and whining like a spoiled child. "Come on, just take it as spending time with me. You've been back so long and haven't taken me shopping even once!"
John was speechless.
He could handle her stern voice. But her soft, sweet tone?
That was his kryptonite.
Later, at Investec Plaza, inside a boutique clothing store—
John stepped out of the changing room wearing a crisp white suit.
Immediately, his aura shifted.
Even though John normally disliked suits, he couldn't refuse Queenie's request—especially when she looked at him with that pleading expression. She used to be so aloof, but now she was openly affectionate.
He couldn't say no.
The suit hugged his figure perfectly.
He stood tall, with an elegant and noble air. But it was the faint, devilish smile on his lips that truly stood out—it wasn't arrogant, but somehow magnetic.
Queenie's heart skipped a beat.
For a fleeting moment, she imagined John in that same white suit... standing beside her in a wedding gown... walking down the aisle hand-in-hand...
She shook her head vigorously.
What am I thinking?! He's my brother!
"It's all Mom's fault," Queenie muttered under her breath. "She keeps calling him 'good son-in-law' so often that I'm starting to believe it..."

"Wow, miss!" said the saleswoman with bright eyes. "Your boyfriend is so handsome! You two are the most stunning couple I've ever seen!"
Snapped out of her daydream, Queenie quickly waved her hands. "No, no, he's not my boyfriend... He's... my brother!"
The saleswoman blinked, confused. "Your brother?"
"I thought you were a couple because you looked so sweet together... I'm sorry." She paused—then suddenly winked. "But if he's your brother... could I maybe get his number?"
She bit her lip and gave John an admiring glance.
Queenie's face turned cold in an instant.
She stepped forward like a tigress protecting her cub.
"No!"
