The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 106: Rosalie Jennings Causes Trouble
"What I want, you can’t give me. You should learn to let go of someone who doesn’t like you, instead of continuing to persist. It’s pointless."
Holly Sawyer took her hand out of her pocket and spoke slowly.
There wasn’t much hatred between her and Rosalie Jennings, but Holly felt some things could be pointed out.
"Ha, who knows what’s on your mind."
Listening to Holly’s indifferent words, Rosalie Jennings was burning with anger.
Holly was hardly a good person, yet Leo Grant cherished her like a treasure. It made her feel irritated just thinking about it.
Leo Grant could choose not to like her. There were thousands of people in this world, why did it have to be Holly Sawyer?
She had told Leo Grant again and again about Holly’s true colors, but he just wouldn’t believe her.
She never expected her credibility to be so low in Leo’s eyes.
"I’m about to start class; could you please step aside? Thank you."
Holly glanced at the time and spoke slowly.
Planning to find a new place to sleep; she felt a bit tired.
"Today, we’re going to clear the air right here."
Rosalie blocked Holly’s way with no intention of letting her pass, her tone was hostile.
She wasn’t going to leave until everything was said; today she was here to provoke Holly.
"I have nothing to say to you."
Holly yawned and spoke slowly.
"Exactly, stop blocking the way."
Diana Curtis echoed from the side.
It’s really quite a downer; a man’s ex-girlfriend is truly a bothersome creature.
"You’re Diana Curtis, right?"
Rosalie’s attention shifted, and she quickly noticed Diana, her eyes filled with an obvious mocking smile.
She and Diana hadn’t crossed paths before, but Rosalie had a distinct impression of her.
Diana was clearly taken aback, "You know me?"
"Chased after my cousin for so many years, I should at least find you familiar. But, well, my cousin isn’t that outstanding after all, not worth your continued pursuit."
Rosalie looked at Diana, her eyes filled with mockery.
Jasper Hayes was her distant cousin; their relationship wasn’t great. Rosalie had always known there was a girl named Diana Curtis chasing him for many years.
Clearly knowing she was being used, yet foolishly smiling as if she were getting attention.
She’d shared a few meals with Jasper; he’d complained to her about how silly and easily deceived Diana was.
Back then, she remained silent, listening to Diana’s story, reminded of herself.
The love she couldn’t have.
Except Leo was proud and always blind to her presence, she wasn’t involved in those exploitative schemes.
"Shut up."
Holly huffed coldly, Rosalie’s words clearly struck a nerve with Diana.
"Indeed, he’s not that great. I was blind to chase him for so long."
Diana tugged at Holly’s clothes, shook her head at Holly, and spoke with an indifferent expression.
Her facial expression remained unchanged.
Anyway, she had come to terms with it.
"My cousin is now in Arkenfall, working at the Grant headquarters, indeed not that excellent."
Rosalie sneered lightly, with a hint of mild bragging; her look at Diana was derisive.
Chasing after a man is sometimes a particularly degrading act, Rosalie knew that well.
She liked Leo, but didn’t pursue him openly; instead, she tried to use tactics, which unfortunately proved ineffective.
"That’s right, not even a tenth of Leo’s worth."
Holly crossed her arms, looking at Rosalie with a somewhat approving yet amused expression.
Bragging?
She could do that too.
Apart from Jasper’s character, his abilities weren’t lacking; otherwise, he wouldn’t be employed by Grant.
Rosalie: "..."
Diana burst into laughter; Holly indeed was sharp-tongued at times.
"It’s almost time for class."
Diana glanced at the time and whispered to Holly.
It wasn’t a big problem if Holly skipped class, but it wasn’t the same for her. She didn’t want to fail her finals due to absence during roll call.
"I need to go to class now; I don’t have time for you."
Holly sidestepped Rosalie, her voice slightly cold.
She had no interest in arguing over such dull topics, and felt there was no need.
"Don’t leave."
Rosalie quickly grabbed Holly’s sleeve, of course not wanting her to leave; she hadn’t finished saying what she wanted.
"Don’t want your hand?"
Holly raised an eyebrow, her gaze coldly on Rosalie’s hand clutching her sleeve.
Ha, she was giving Rosalie face before, but it seemed Rosalie didn’t want it.
One can’t be perfect in this world, nor can they like everyone; Holly disliked certain people too.
However, without direct conflict or interests at stake, Holly wouldn’t show animosity right away.
Her thorns didn’t come out immediately; they only did when provoked.
Rosalie instinctively retracted her hand, suddenly recalling the previous incident.
Holly wasn’t simple, nor easy to mess with.
"Don’t forget the lesson; dare to anger me? Can you afford it?"
Holly smirked slightly, put her right hand into her pocket, and spoke icily.
Rosalie pursed her lips in silence, staring fixedly at Holly.
"I’m not good at arguing, so don’t force me to get physical."
Holly dropped this line and left with Diana, without even glancing at Rosalie.
Leo was with her now; Rosalie came to pick a fight?
Quite amusing.
She should have some sense about her place in Leo’s mind.
"Boss, that’s so fierce."
Diana gave Holly a thumbs up, looking at her with admiration.
Her once lofty and domineering boss seemed to have returned.
"Wasn’t I fierce enough before?"
Holly glanced at Diana, a faint smile on her lips.
Tsk, she didn’t particularly like hearing that.
"Oh, no, the boss has always been fierce."
Diana shook her head, a bit sheepishly rubbing her nose.
Not that Holly wasn’t fierce before, but since Holly came to Bexley, she had always been a soft, cutesy girl in front of Leo, a delicate little girl.
Totally unrelated to the word fierce.
Now, it’s the familiar vibe again.
"Tsk, nervous?"
Holly gave Diana a slap, patting her on the forehead, then quickened her pace.
Tsk, seeing Diana rubbing her nose, Holly knew Diana was feeling nervous.
"Boss, not just used to your gentle side."
Diana caught up with Holly, flattering her with a smile.
Talking was an art, they didn’t guard it well; it was too difficult.
