The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 174: Just Want to See the Snow
The first snow every year always feels like a surprise from heaven.
Pulling open the window, you can see the snow. It’s really beautiful, and Holly Sawyer loves this feeling.
Diana Curtis came over early in the morning, snugly settled at Holly’s place, refusing to leave, lazily snacking and watching Korean dramas, oh so leisurely.
"So what are you doing here?"
Holly gave Diana a look, observing her lazy demeanor, feeling a bit of disdain.
"To see the snow, Arkenfall is snowing. Can’t I come and play?"
Diana lazily perched her feet on the coffee table, looking all casual and careless.
Her mouth was stuffed with snacks, speaking unclearly.
She saw on Holly’s social media that Arkenfall was snowing, and hurried over without delay.
Bexley has never seen snow; her love for snow is persistent. Although she’s seen snow before, she particularly wants to see it again.
"So are you here to play in the snow now?"
Holly raised an eyebrow, looking at Diana lazily lounging on the sofa with a face full of disdain.
Inside the house, warming up, snacking, drinking, and watching Korean dramas, yet claiming she’s here to see the snow?
Tsk, speechless.
"Hmm, feeling a bit sleepy, gonna rest for a bit."
Diana let out a big yawn, saying it as if it were obvious.
There are tons of tasty treats at Holly’s place; Diana just wants to indulge in the food.
"Boss, I remember I asked you a question before."
Diana looked at Holly, blinking, a hint of amusement hidden in her eyes.
Holly: "Hmm?"
"Would you choose between good food and Leo Grant? Have you decided now?"
Diana propped her chin up, looking at Holly with a playful grin.
"Is that even a choice?"
Holly raised an eyebrow.
For Holly, this isn’t even a real choice question.
"Yes, it is."
Diana responded without hesitation.
Leo Grant and good food, she just wanted to know which holds more importance in Holly’s heart.
Holly slightly curled her lips: "Leo Grant."
"Leo will buy me good food, meaning I get both. Only kids make choices, I want it all."
Just as Diana wanted to speak, Holly continued, her face full of smiles.
Yeah, choosing Leo is like making two choices; she wins both ways, without a loss.
Diana: "..."
She was just fed a mouthful of dog food unexpectedly.
"Let’s go play in the snow."
Diana sprang off the sofa, grabbing Holly’s hand.
It feels like the snow outside is more fun; skiing, building snowmen, snowball fights, and all those activities are quite entertaining.
"Skiing?"
Holly raised an eyebrow, her interest piqued suddenly.
She enjoys playing, but it’s a bit thrilling. Leo might not accompany her, and even if he did, she wouldn’t feel fully satisfied.
"OK."
Diana made an OK gesture, looking eager.
It’s been a long time since she’s last played.
She used to visit Arkenfall during snowy days and skied before, really enjoyed playing.
"Do we have skis?"
Diana questioned, perhaps they don’t have such equipment here.
"I’ll have someone deliver them."
Holly replied.
No skis? She’ll have them delivered.
Once they suited up, they grabbed the skis and headed out. The snow-covered ground was wide and open, with people, even children, already playing.
The two of them had a blast on the snowy ground, feeling thrilled.
"Suddenly, I’m really fond of Arkenfall."
After playing enough, Diana plopped down heavily on the snow, exhaling deeply.
Well, if she only stayed in Bexley, she’d be someone who’s never seen snow, forever envying those who have.
People living in places without snowfall always naturally envy those where it snows in winter.
"Didn’t you say you’d come to develop in Arkenfall?"
Holly raised an eyebrow, speaking gently.
As a member of The Pantheon, having a degree is certainly best, but even without it, she could still offer a livelihood-sustaining job.
In this world, education is really important; it can truly determine many things.
Holly never considered herself a great benevolent person; she could give those with difficulty finding jobs a chance, but not promise something exceptional.
"Look at my silly head." Diana patted her head, "But there’s quite a while before I graduate."
On second thought, Diana felt a bit emo.
Really loves Arkenfall’s snow, ahhh.
"Arkenfall didn’t snow last year, not every year does it snow."
Holly reminded, Arkenfall’s snowfall isn’t fixed; its latitude isn’t one where snow happens annually.
"Ah, but aren’t you here?"
Diana blinked, staring straight at Holly.
Ahhh, really likes Holly.
She also likes beautiful women, so she truly likes Holly; just regrets not being male, so she could compete with Leo for Holly.
Okay, she wouldn’t win, sob sob sob.
"Wait wait wait, take my photo?"
Diana wrote her name in the snow, then made a heart gesture, signaling Holly to snap a picture.
Of course, taking a photo to commemorate! She doesn’t see snow every day.
"What do we have for dinner?"
After having fun, Diana stroked her belly, slowly asking.
Hmm, lunch might not be too important, she’s more focused on what’s for dinner.
"Lunch is casual; Leo cooks dinner."
Holly replied lazily.
Lunch is generally separate from Leo, but dinner is always with him.
Leo’s cooking has improved greatly; not yet master level, but really not bad.
"So can I join for dinner?"
Diana asked tentatively.
Leo cooking, Leo making dinner; she really really wants to join, not sure if there’s a chance.
Holly refused: "No way."
Leo is Holly’s exclusive chef.
"If I were cooking, you could join, but not with Leo cooking."
Holly declared sternly, not leaving room for discussion.
Diana: "..."
"Leo is my exclusive chef; someday you might have the fortune to taste it, but the chances are limited."
Holly said lazily, her face filled with smiles.
Mentioning Leo just makes her genuinely happy.
Diana: "..."
Goodbye, sorry for bothering.
Since Holly started dating, Leo’s name is always on her lips, casually mentioning Leo.
Even as a singleton, Diana feels a bit disheartened, unwilling to consume this bowl of dog food, sob sob sob, too sad.
"Boss, I’m hungry, you can’t leave me out of lunch, right?"
Diana said pitifully.
