The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 230: Going Out for a Walk
New Year’s Eve was approaching, and the festive atmosphere on the streets was becoming more intense, with colorful lanterns and decorations everywhere.
Holly Sawyer and Leo Grant walked hand in hand on the streets, soaking in the festive vibes. The coming of the New Year also signified the impending arrival of spring, and the weather was gradually starting to warm up.
"I haven’t been out for a walk in a long time."
Holly let out a big yawn and said softly, her tone gentle.
She was particularly afraid of the cold in winter and didn’t like going out, preferring to step out only when the spring flowers were in full bloom.
"You lazy little thing."
Leo wrapped Holly in his arms and chuckled, his tone doting and gentle.
It’s normal for the girl to avoid going out when it’s so cold; nothing to be surprised about.
"Bears hibernate in winter; people need it too, okay."
Holly pouted a little as she spoke, slightly unconvinced.
"Yes, yes, people need it too."
Leo agreed, a tender and affectionate smile on his lips.
Whatever Holly says goes.
She was just lazy, but she wouldn’t admit it, not one bit.
"This street isn’t fun, but I don’t want to go too far."
As they walked along the street, Holly spoke slowly.
Um, it was still a bit cold. She planned to take a stroll and then go home to sleep, so she didn’t want to go too far and delay her sleep.
"We’ll go after the New Year."
Leo chuckled softly as he spoke.
Holly responded, "Alright."
"Bro, I want shrimp paste."
Passing by a handmade shrimp paste shop, Holly’s feet immediately stopped in their tracks as she tugged at Leo’s sleeve, her eyes fixated on the shop sign.
She really wanted to eat, ah ah ah.
"Let’s go."
Leo chuckled, pulling Holly’s hand, leading her into the shop.
"I want a garlic shrimp paste, with extra chili."
"What do you want?"
After ordering, Holly turned to look at Leo.
She wasn’t sure what flavor Leo liked.
"I’m not eating."
Leo shook his head, glancing at the menu in front of him with a bit of a headache. He had never tried it and didn’t know what it tasted like.
Not knowing what flavor would suit his palate, he chose not to order.
"Bro, this is really delicious."
Holly blinked her eyes, filled with sincerity.
Leo nodded, "Mm."
Many things were considered delicious in the girl’s mind, Leo mused.
Holly was definitely a foodie.
"Want to try a bite?"
Getting her shrimp paste, Holly scooped a spoonful and offered it to Leo, a smile hidden in her eyes.
It was really tasty. She hadn’t had it in a long time and always liked the flavor.
"Okay."
Leo, of course, wouldn’t refuse Holly’s invitation.
"Tastes good."
With Holly’s guidance, Leo ate the shrimp paste, a smile spreading across his face.
It was delicious; whatever Holly fed him always tasted good, and he really liked the flavor.
Actually, shrimp paste was pretty tasty, but Leo only ate it when having hotpot; he hadn’t tried it on other occasions.
In the past, Leo wasn’t very interested in food, but now his interest was all sparked by Holly.
Holly loved food, and because Holly loved it, he loved it too. When you like someone, you tend to adopt their hobbies as your own.
"See, I told you it was good."
Holly beamed with joy, a smile radiating across her face.
The things she liked, she wanted to recommend to Leo and make him like them too.
But if Leo didn’t like them, she didn’t mind. Everyone has their own preferences; no two people in this world have the exact same tastes.
"There are so many delicious snacks, and I haven’t taken you to try them yet."
Holly spoke as she stuffed more shrimp paste into her mouth, her cheeks bulging with food.
She had promised to take Leo to try many, many delicious things, and once the New Year was over and the weather turned warm, she’d go strolling through the street food market with Leo, eating lots of delicious treats.
"Remember to take me to try them."
Gently rubbing Holly’s head, Leo said warmly.
"Bro, do you want to try crystal pudding?"
With her keen eyes, Holly was quickly drawn to something else, turning to Leo with a question.
Crystal pudding?
What is that?
"Come, come, I’ll take you to try it."
Seeing Leo in a daze, Holly knew he was clueless, so she pulled his hand and led him forward.
They arrived at a small vendor’s stall, where small, crystal-clear cakes were laid out.
"Give me one each of the mango, grape, and honeydew flavors."
Holly said to the vendor.
The vendor quickly packed the crystal pudding and handed it to Leo.
"Is this tasty?"
Leo looked at the items in the bag, somewhat skeptical.
He had never had it before. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Ever since he met Holly, Leo often found himself regretting the kind of life he had led before, having not even known about local street food.
Noah Raines and Nathaniel Shaw weren’t strangers to such things, but he was remarkably unfamiliar; it was his blank area.
"It’s delicious, try one."
Holly said seriously, blinking her eyes.
She hadn’t finished her shrimp paste yet, and she believed in finishing one thing before moving on to another.
"Okay."
Leo took one and bit into it; the cake was soft, chewy, and flavorful without being sticky, and it felt refreshingly cool.
The taste was truly excellent.
Leo had never known that something costing less than a dollar could taste so good.
"Isn’t it tasty?"
Holly looked up at Leo, her eyes filled with a smile.
"Very tasty, Holly has broadened my horizons."
Leo nodded lightly.
"Come on, come on, there are more delicious things up ahead."
Holly tossed the paper bowl in her hand, then held Leo’s hand and continued walking.
This street wasn’t exactly a food street, but there was a small vendor selling snacks at intervals.
There were quite a few snacks available.
"How does a little girl eat so much but not gain weight?"
Leo gently pinched Holly’s head, asking with a hint of confusion.
Yes, from the very start of knowing Holly, he knew she was a complete foodie. Seeing her eat so much, how is it she doesn’t gain weight?
"I’ve gained weight, gained weight!"
Holly emphasized, tugging at the flesh on her cheeks to show she had gained a lot.
She truly felt she had put on weight, with noticeably more flesh on her face.
"The fairy lady’s fried duck feet, let me tell you, this shop’s fried duck claws are amazing."
Holly pointed to a shop with a yellow signboard, speaking slowly and with great earnestness.
She really liked them a lot, and because she liked them, she wanted to recommend them to Leo.
"Never tried it, but if Holly says it’s good, it must be really good."
Leo slightly curved his lips and spoke slowly.
