The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 47: She Thought of Him
"Fruit wine is still alcohol."
Ethan Joan emphasized, Leo Grant entrusted him to take good care of Holly Sawyer, and he had to do his job well.
If he hadn’t seen Holly Sawyer, it would have been fine, but now that he has, he certainly can’t ignore it.
A girl coming to a bar alone, thinking about drinking—the bar is always a chaotic place, how could he be at ease?
If anything happens, Leo Grant might just skin him alive.
Ben Taylor stood aside, not daring to speak. He didn’t know what was going on or what he should say, so he simply observed the situation calmly.
"Oh, then I’m going back."
Holly Sawyer said lightly, her voice slow and steady, accommodating Leo Grant’s friend.
Hmm, the bar was too noisy, and she didn’t really like it. Might as well go home early to sleep and go to the night market in the evening.
And it wouldn’t be good for this to reach Leo Grant.
"Miss Sawyer..."
"Could you not tell my brother? He would be worried, and I don’t want him to know. I’ll tell him myself later."
Ethan Joan called out to Holly Sawyer but was unexpectedly interrupted by her.
Holly Sawyer’s tone was soft, she lightly bit her lip, blinking her eyes, looking somewhat pitiful.
Ethan Joan’s heart softened all of a sudden, "Okay."
He had a sister, and when his sister asked him for something, she had the same expression. Suddenly, Holly Sawyer seemed especially like his sister, making his heart soft.
Holly Sawyer walked out of the bar, Ben Taylor blinked, suddenly feeling a bit dumbfounded, picked up the fruit wine, and followed Holly Sawyer out.
"Boss, your drink."
Holly Sawyer was hailing a cab by the roadside, Ben Taylor followed and handed her the fruit wine.
Holly Sawyer had said she wanted a drink. Although she didn’t know who this suddenly appearing man was, it wasn’t within Ben Taylor’s concern, nor did he have the qualification to inquire.
"Thanks."
Holly Sawyer took the fruit wine, her lips curled slightly in gratitude.
The white peach oolong flavor was something she always especially loved and liked.
After giving Holly Sawyer the fruit wine, Ben Taylor left. He offered to escort her back, but Holly Sawyer declined.
"Miss Sawyer, get in the car."
Holly Sawyer checked the taxi’s distance on her phone, and suddenly a car stopped in front of her. Ethan Joan rolled down the window and spoke to her.
Ensuring Holly Sawyer’s safety as he escorted her back.
Holly Sawyer lightly bit her lip, hesitated for a few seconds, and eventually got in the car, canceling the cab.
Well, it’s a free ride—why not take it and save a few bucks, right?
"Miss Sawyer, where’s your friend?"
Seeing Holly Sawyer get in the car, Ethan Joan curiously inquired. She clearly came to hang out with friends, and couldn’t have left her friend to go out alone, could she?
Quite puzzling.
"Hmm, she fell asleep, I got a bit bored."
Holly Sawyer’s voice was bland, with little fluctuation, speaking slowly.
Ethan Joan: "..."
So, you got bored and decided to run off to the bar alone?
The bar seemed lively?
Ethan Joan had plenty he wanted to ask but ended up saying nothing.
Ethan Joan kept silent, and naturally, Holly Sawyer stayed quiet too.
"By the way, Miss Sawyer, what is your relationship with Leo?"
Ethan Joan finally couldn’t resist asking. He had asked Leo Grant before, but Leo Grant had been vague and brushed it off.
"He’s my brother."
Holly Sawyer blinked, her voice sweet.
Ethan Joan: "..."
Which kind of brother?
He didn’t remember Leo Grant having a sister like that.
In the car, Ethan Joan asked whatever, and Holly Sawyer answered whatever, just rather dull, so eventually, Ethan Joan stopped asking, and the two fell into silence.
When Holly Sawyer got back to the hotel, Diana Curtis was still playing games, ranting with her mic on.
"Boss, back so soon?"
Seeing Holly Sawyer return, she quickly turned off the mic, blinked at Holly Sawyer.
Holly Sawyer returned a bit early.
"Ran into Ethan Joan at the bar."
Holly Sawyer’s tone was light.
Diana Curtis blinked, Holly Sawyer didn’t have to say more for her to understand, though she found Holly Sawyer quite odd.
It’s just Leo Grant, right? Holly Sawyer seemed rather wary of Leo Grant knowing about her being here, accommodating Leo Grant quickly.
Holly Sawyer said she came to repay a debt, but it didn’t seem just that simple.
"Boss, are you thinking of dating now?"
Diana Curtis put down her phone, blinking, looking at Holly Sawyer seriously, intrigued by the question.
Holly Sawyer had never dated before.
She was always curious about what kind of person could win Holly Sawyer over.
"No, go play your game. I’m a bit sleepy, going to nap first and go to the night market with you later."
Holly Sawyer unhesitatingly reached out to tap Diana Curtis on the head, chuckled.
Sleepiness was real.
Lying on the bed, Diana Curtis’s question suddenly replayed in Holly Sawyer’s mind. Oddly, her first reflex wasn’t to say "no" but to think of Leo Grant.
Yes, Leo Grant’s face flashed in her mind instantly—truly strange.
"Tsk."
Diana Curtis glanced at Holly Sawyer, continued gaming, her lips curled into a slight smile.
Holly Sawyer clearly hesitated for a moment.
——
When Holly Sawyer woke, it was quite late, the night deepened, Diana Curtis still had plenty of energy, continuing gaming.
From the moment she arrived at the hotel, Diana Curtis had been playing, non-stop until now.
"Boss, you freshened up to head out? I’m quite hungry."
Seeing Holly Sawyer wake, Diana Curtis quickly spoke, long feeling hungry but didn’t want to wake Holly Sawyer who slept soundly.
Holly Sawyer was fairly exhausted, too.
"Aren’t you tired?"
Yawning, Holly Sawyer asked.
"No, I napped while you were out, and slept after you returned, but woke from hunger."
Diana Curtis rubbed her belly, apologetically speaking, genuinely awakened by hunger.
Following a simple fresh-up, Holly Sawyer and Diana Curtis ventured out. Arkenfall’s largest night market remained unchanged, evoking a sense of familiarity in Holly Sawyer.
Arkenfall’s air was what she knew; Bexley felt foreign despite being her birthplace.
"Long time no visit, so much yummy stuff."
Diana Curtis was a complete foodie, her eyes lit instantly upon seeing all the food.
The duo feasted from street start to end, utterly satisfied.
