The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 83: Taking the Young Lady Out to Play
Holly sat in front of the computer, her expression turning serious as she focused intently on handling the task.
Her hands moved quickly, so quickly that Leo was a bit surprised.
Leo was really curious about what his little girl was up to, hiding so many secrets within her.
The little girl said she was already twenty-one; at this age, she should be in college, right?
Is she into computers or something?
Her typing speed could be that fast.
"Brother, aren’t you afraid I might mess it up?"
Without stopping her work, Holly turned to look at Leo and asked, her tone slightly cautious.
She didn’t know if Leo trusted her, trusted her to handle this matter well.
She could indeed handle this sort of thing well, but in Leo’s eyes, she had always been a little girl who understood nothing.
"No way. Holly is so great, how could you possibly mess it up?"
Leo slightly curled his lips into a soft smile, exuding extraordinary gentleness.
Even if the little girl didn’t understand anything, he wouldn’t undermine her confidence. At worst, he’d stay up all night fixing the documents.
Though it was a bit troublesome, it didn’t matter as long as the little girl was happy.
Holly blinked her eyes, her smile equally gentle, as long as Leo trusted her.
"Brother, is that all? Nothing else?"
Holly quickly finished handling the matter, stretched lazily, and turned to look at Leo.
Hmm, not much, she was done quickly.
"That’s it."
Leo shook his head.
"Brother, if — I mean if — I remembered everything one day, would you abandon me?"
Holly blinked, looking at Leo with a serious expression.
Would Leo abandon her?
Holly felt really confused and chaotic inside right now.
Diana Curtis’s advice and Mrs. Hayes’s words kept echoing in Holly’s mind at the moment.
"Silly girl, how could I possibly abandon you? Even if the whole world abandoned you, I wouldn’t."
Leo slightly curled his lips into a gentle smile. His eyes were filled with utmost tenderness as he looked at Holly.
His little girl — how could he possibly abandon her?
As long as the little girl didn’t leave him, he wouldn’t leave her either. Even if she wanted to leave him, he’d go to the ends of the earth to bring her back.
"Brother, you’re really good."
Holly bit her lip lightly, blinking her eyes softly.
Leo was really good.
Holly understood clearly in her heart that Leo’s words weren’t just empty promises, he would definitely follow through.
Holly looked at Leo, hesitating to speak.
She wanted to ask, if she wanted to leave Leo, what would Leo do?
Would he be indifferent, or try to find her?
Holly didn’t really know what she felt inside, only that it was chaotic and stifling.
——
In the blink of an eye, it was National Day, and Holly was bouncing around, pleading with Leo to take her out to play.
Holly really liked the National Day holiday. She would go out every year, and this year she wanted Leo to go with her.
"Where do you want to go?"
Leo paused his work, looking at Holly with deep affection, his voice ineffably soft.
The little girl wanted him to accompany her to play; how could he possibly refuse?
"I want you to come with me."
Holly’s eyes were filled with laughter as she looked at Leo with anticipation.
Where they went didn’t matter; she mainly wanted Leo to accompany her.
She hadn’t had a proper outing with Leo before and wanted to use this time to sort out her feelings.
To understand what kind of emotions she had towards Leo.
Her emotional intelligence was low, but her IQ wasn’t. Even Diana Curtis had hinted at it to this point, she truly had an awakening and understood a little.
"Is there a place you particularly want to go?"
Leo asked. Wherever the little girl wanted to go, he could accompany her.
"I want to eat..."
Holly hesitated for a while, then slowly uttered three words.
Where they went wasn’t really important; what mattered was that the place had food, lots of delicious food.
"Would you like to visit the food street?"
Leo asked. The little girl liked down-to-earth stuff, and she enjoyed going to food streets too.
Though Bexley wasn’t as big as Arkenfall, it had plenty of food streets. The little girl hadn’t finished exploring them all, and he could accompany her to explore them.
"How about we go to the amusement park?"
Holly’s eyes twinkled as she propped her chin up and inquired.
Hmm, it had been a long time since she’d been to an amusement park, and she especially liked the thrilling rides, thinking they were incredibly fun.
Leo nodded in agreement, "Sure, we can." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
The little girl had spoken; of course, he would agree. Otherwise, it would dampen her spirits, and then she would be very upset.
"Then I’ll go change my clothes."
Holly’s eyes brightened instantly as she rushed upstairs to change into more practical clothes.
Going to an amusement park, wearing a skirt wasn’t suitable, as it wouldn’t be possible to go on many rides.
Unless it was for the non-thrilling rides, then wearing a skirt would be appropriate.
In any case, she wasn’t going to the amusement park to act cute or like a lady or a fairy; she was going to have fun.
Leo waited for Holly downstairs.
"Leo, I’m here to crash for a meal."
The door opened, and Noah Raines walked in with a big bag of fruit.
It was already past breakfast time, so Noah was here to crash lunch.
"There’s no lunch today."
Leo gave Noah a side glance and said slowly.
The regular meal-crashing Noah was currently unwelcome by Leo.
"It’s not like I eat a lot; what’s the big deal about crashing a meal? It’s just another pair of chopsticks."
Noah plopped the fruits onto the table, looking at Leo in frustration as he babbled on.
Damn it, Leo was someone who forgot his friends at the sight of food. When Holly wasn’t around, Leo never blatantly disliked him when he tried to crash a meal.
Now with Holly around, Leo openly disliked him.
"I’m not having lunch at home; I’m taking the little girl out to play later."
Leo explained slowly, with a gentle tone when referring to Holly.
Noah: "???"
They say brothers are like limbs, women like clothes.
But he couldn’t feel it at all; he was really pitiful.
"So, Mrs. Hayes doesn’t need to cook lunch today, and you should head home."
Leo said nonchalantly.
"They say brothers are like limbs, women like clothes—that saying makes no sense at all."
Noah muttered quietly, feeling quite frustrated.
"You can live without limbs, but you can’t go without clothes. I’ve seen people with missing limbs, but never someone walking around naked."
Leo commented slowly, and although his words were a bit brusque, they made perfect sense.
Noah: "..."
Alright, Leo won, and he didn’t deserve to argue.
