Chapter 82: Chapter 82: She Feels Sorry for Leo Grant

Holly suddenly felt that her mind was in a mess, like a tangled ball of yarn, chaotic and impossible to sort out.

"Don’t overthink it; it won’t taste good once it gets cold."

Leo Grant gently ruffled Holly’s hair, speaking slowly.

The little girl doesn’t need to think too much; his words, though not direct, were somewhat abrupt.

The little girl must be scared.

"Hmm, hmm."

Holly nodded and continued eating her food.

She sneakily glanced at Leo, looking cautious and careful.

Does Leo like her?

If so, why would he like her?

They’ve only known each other for just over two months, not even three.

"I have some work to do, Holly. Play by yourself for now, okay?"

Leo’s phone rang, and after taking a call, he was about to return to the study.

He always had enough patience for Holly, always gentle and indulgent, never willing to get angry at her.

"Okay."

Holly nodded, watching Leo go upstairs.

Holly knew clearly that Leo would definitely have to return to Arkenfall in December; then, the plan would be executed.

That would also be her time to leave.

With the National Day approaching, December wasn’t far away at all, and her time staying beside Leo was running out.

So, if she really left, would she regret it?

Holly contemplated this question, unable to find an answer in her heart.

"Holly, what’s wrong?"

Mrs. Hayes brought a plate of cut fruit to Holly, concernedly asking as she watched the little girl looking troubled and frowning.

The little girl seemed a bit unhappy.

"Nothing, just thinking that Leo is so busy, so busy."

Holly tilted her head looking at Mrs. Hayes, lightly biting her lip, her face unreservedly showing her heartache.

"Holly, you should spend more time with the young master; that would make him very happy."

Mrs. Hayes looked at Holly with kind eyes.

Leo cares about Holly, so her companionship is the best.

"Really?"

Holly nodded, somewhat understanding, and looked at Mrs. Hayes with a hint of confusion.

"Yes, the young master likes you so much."

Mrs. Hayes said, increasingly fond of Holly as she watched her.

Holly blinked.

Like her?

So Leo does like her?

Since Mrs. Hayes says so, then Leo must...

Holly dared not continue thinking, her heart in turmoil.

"Take the fruit up to the young master; keep him company so he won’t feel tired."

Mrs. Hayes gestured at the fruit plate on the table to Holly.

She could only assist Leo this much; the little girl was so adorable and innocent. Who knew when Leo would finally win her heart?

"Oh, oh, okay, Holly understands."

Holly nodded, then put on her shoes, and happily went to the study carrying the fruit plate.

The study’s lights were bright; Leo sat in front of the computer, his hands on the keyboard, typing away with intense concentration.

The light from the screen reflected on his face, making him look particularly serious and focused.

"Leo, have some fruit."

Holly entered without knocking, gently speaking as she placed the fruit plate beside Leo’s computer.

"Okay."

Upon hearing the door open, Leo’s previously angry expression softened instantly upon seeing Holly, a smile spreading across his lips.

"Are you very busy, Leo?"

Holly obediently brought over a chair, sitting next to Leo, tilting her head to look at his computer screen.

Hmm, she could understand it; the handling seemed pretty complex.

"Not too bad."

Leo glanced at Holly, his hands never stopping from the task.

Quite busy.

"Leo, have some fruit."

Holly picked up a piece of fruit with a toothpick, bringing it to Leo’s lips, where he ate it without hesitation.

Holly fed him, and he ate in a continuous cycle.

Leo’s hands never stopped, focused entirely on his task.

"Are you tired, Leo? Should I help you get it done?"

Holly leaned closer to Leo’s computer screen, blinking as she spoke with a serious expression.

Although she didn’t like handling such matters, she understood it fine, and could manage it occasionally.

Leo had been busy all day, and she didn’t want him to keep busy without rest.

"No worries, I’ll be finished in a little while."

Leo turned his head, looking at Holly tenderly.

His work didn’t need Holly’s help; he could manage it himself.

The little girl didn’t need to do anything, just stay quietly by his side; the brain-consuming work wasn’t something she should be handling.

He couldn’t bear to let the little girl shoulder his burden.

"But you’ve been busy all day, Leo."

Holly tilted her head, gently biting her lip, looking at Leo with wide eyes.

She genuinely felt sorry for Leo.

She disliked such tedious work, hence freeing herself from it quickly as she knew it could be quite exhausting.

There truly wasn’t anything like shared feelings in the world; supposedly shared feelings were merely having experienced the same thing.

So, that’s why the concept of shared feelings exists.

She understood what Leo was working on now, knowing it was tiring.

"No worries, I’m not tired. Holly, just play around a bit; I’ll keep you company once I’m finished, okay?"

Leo slightly curled his lips, his gentle gaze falling on Holly, the tone particularly soft.

He wouldn’t tell the little girl he was tired; all she needed to do was stay cheerful, leaving the tedious work for him to handle.

The little girl was quietly competent, experienced in dealing with workplace matters. But so what? It wasn’t an excuse to have her help.

"Alright then."

Holly was visibly a bit unhappy, biting her lip and looking forlornly at Leo.

Her little face fell, extremely aggrieved.

"Play some games; just being here with me is enough."

Leo pulled out a tablet from the drawer, handing it to Holly with a particularly gentle tone.

The little girl was unhappy; he certainly had to cheer her up.

Holly refused: "No."

Games?

Sorry, she wasn’t interested; she was only interested in food.

"What would make Holly happy then, hmm?"

Leo paused from his work, looking at Holly with an apologetic tone.

Upsetting the little girl was entirely his fault.

"I want to handle the files for you."

Holly blinked, looking innocently at Leo, her gaze full of anticipation.

She cared for Leo, seeing him busy from morning till night without a moment’s rest, wanting him to take a break.

"Alright, you can handle it."

After hesitating for a moment, Leo ultimately let her take over the workspace.

As long as the little girl was happy, nothing else mattered.
