Chapter 37: The End of the Trial.

Noelia had been put against the ropes, but that made her much more dangerous.

The first thing she thought when she saw she had to quickly end the fight was to create a black hole.

However, that idea vanished in an instant.

It was too crazy for many reasons.

The first was that a black hole is a too dangerous object.

If she created one, it would possibly be a suicide attack that would take everyone out, including herself.

Moreover, there was another possibility, the other reason why she didn’t want to create a black hole.

That reason was that if she created a black hole, it would probably be very small and too unstable.

If a black hole is very small, it’s more likely to start emitting Hawking radiation and lose mass at great speed.

Its instability would make it a bomb that would annihilate the entire trial landscape.

However, there was another alternative.

Create an artificial black hole.

The girl smiled as she altered the texture of space.

She had managed to alter the texture of space so much that she could even alter its geometry and form.

Which she did.

Space folded into an exotic object, completely unnatural.

It was a sphere with space with non-Euclidean geometry.

The sphere’s internal space was much larger than the external volume it occupied.

In other words: it was bigger on the inside than on the outside.

To achieve this, one had to directly alter the spacetime structure and geometry.

Creating an object that defies logic.

Now, there was something very interesting about that object.

The sphere’s surface was like a miniature event horizon.

Because everything that crossed the boundary between the sphere and its interior would be absorbed by immense gravitational traction.

Luckily, being in a chemical vacuum, air wasn’t being sucked in, however it was likely that if she took it outside, air would be swallowed by the sphere.

But there was no need for that.

Bīng Xuě had launched himself at her again, and seeing him, she created a hole in her "electromagnetic shield."

Due to the pressure difference, air was immediately sucked into the hole in the "shield."

That generated a force and pressure that obliged Bīng Xuě to pass through that path.

Bīng Xuě didn’t worry. He didn’t even notice that fact as he accelerated toward Noelia.

However, right in his path he encountered that sphere. Though it was practically imperceptible, it was still there.

But Bīng Xuě couldn’t do anything about it. He had launched himself directly toward his doom.

That artificial "black hole" seemed to literally erase the matter that came into contact with it.

As if it disappeared from existence.

Bīng Xuě didn’t even realize it. It was already too late, and at an immeasurable speed, his body was swallowed.

Erased as if he had never existed.

But now there was another problem, the sphere itself. It had stored gigantic tension.

It was just as unstable as a black hole.

But she already had plans for it.

In an instant that singularity collapsed, but in a precise direction.

The sphere’s tension was released in the form of curved gravitational waves that shot forward.

The curvature of the waves, however, occurred in such a way that a safe zone was created around Noelia.

She was safe.

A gigantic burst occurred. The gravitational waves pushed the atmosphere and deformed the terrain.

It was a wave of massive destruction.

Noelia could only let out a sigh.

Her body was damaged in multiple places. Blood dripped from her body.

Luckily, when Bīng Xuě died, his taboos went with him.

However, the girl felt exhaustion hit her all at once.

She had used too much energy. After all, using such advanced techniques with such a weak ability wasn’t free.

"Looks like it overloaded," the girl said as she lifted an amulet hanging from her neck.

A transparent stone hung from it, however it was fractured.

Once that stone had shone with an intense green color.

It was like a magical battery, but Noelia had used it too much.

The girl sighed. While she had won the fight, she wasn’t going to be able to fight anymore.

Her body began falling into the void as the air that had been pushed by the gravitational waves returned like a tide.

Noelia knew she wasn’t going to survive. She had risked too much.

As she fell, her mask detached from her face, coming off.

A face with Asian features was revealed. It was beautiful. Her skin almost seemed like porcelain.

However, suddenly something stood out on that perfect face.

A blemish on that dazzling beauty, a burn that covered almost half her face.

A wound that had always made her self-conscious, a reminder of how horrible humanity can be if you show vulnerability.

The woman clenched her hands tightly. The idea of returning to that horrible world terrified her.

All the confidence she had gained would vanish.

She would return to a tormented life while forgetting the heroine she once was.

"N-no," she then said with difficulty.

The match hadn’t ended. She could still save herself. She could still survive.

She had managed to defeat many heroes. It was very likely she had enough to pass the trial.

Her desperation transformed into determination, but right at that same instant, a chilling sound caught her attention.

It was like blades moving, like something sucking.

The girl turned when she found herself face to face with what was emitting that noise.

A gigantic whirlwind of darkness whose interior was serrated, full of rotating blades ready to shred her flesh.

Noelia didn’t even have the chance to scream. That shredding hell caught her and swallowed her whole.

Her fate was sealed in an instant. Her determination had been useless.

As soon as Aku noticed his target had died, [Nyargoohl’s] darkness vanished, turning into shadows.

Literally that tornado of darkness had dissipated. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Aku sighed, tired, as he watched the darkness fade.

Before his eyes was a completely transformed landscape, molded and sculpted by colossal battles.

But now, illuminated by the beautiful sunlight, it seemed more beautiful, as if the scars of battle had created a beautiful work of art.

"How strange," Aku said. In his chest he felt a strange sensation, but he was no longer fighting. "What is this emotion?"

He said, not understanding he was moved by the landscape.

Then, before he could answer that question, a voice resonated throughout the entire stage.

[The trial has ended]
