The SSS Ranked Demon King Goes to the Hero Academy-Chapter 55: Fighting the Monsters of the Cracks. (6)
The water’s electrification wasn’t the only problem.
But the electrolysis.
The hydra had subjected the water to an electric current with enough power to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen in the water, thus creating a deadly combination of gases.
Gerald got distracted checking that the water in contact with his feet hadn’t been electrified, which wasn’t the case thanks to the magical barrier.
However, the danger was outside, where the water had transformed into a deadly cocktail of flammable gases ready to explode.
The hydra didn’t hesitate a second and spat a great burst of fire from its mouth which upon coming into contact with the oxygen and hydrogen exploded.
An immense explosion was released. Though the resulting energy from the reaction was mostly transferred in the form of light and heat, the shockwave was strong enough to destroy the magical barrier and send Gerald flying far away.
The boy felt a scorching heat hitting him, and how his limbs and body began burning from the heat.
His back hit the ground with a dry thud that made his neck move backward, also condemning his head, which also struck the ground.
The boy let out a moan of pain. The hydra’s play had been very good. It wasn’t a simple rabid animal apparently.
"Damn, in this state I won’t be able to do much. Damn it," the aching boy complained.
The goblin shaman that was inside the shield had also been damaged, but was in better condition than Gerald himself, who had burns on his arms and legs.
The shaman began using healing magic on Gerald, with the noble intention of healing its summoner.
The only problem was the hydra, who seemed to want to finish its job before anyone tried to heal its prey.
Several heads aimed at Gerald and the shaman, but before they could even fire their attacks, hundreds of colorful explosions struck those heads.
"Over here, bastard lizard!" Ariel shouted as she flew over the creature and used that music to summon the light explosions.
Gerald raised an eyebrow, which was somewhat burned from the explosion, and looked at Ariel, who was flying through the sky while releasing multiple light bursts on the hydra, distracting it.
Gerald had to admit it internally, though it would cost him a lot to do so, but Ariel had just saved him.
If not for that girl’s sudden attacks, the hydra would surely have riddled him with attacks now that he was vulnerable.
Gerald got up with difficulty. A green light surrounded him. It was the healing magic that was active as he watched how the hydra fired jets of fire, electricity, or water seeking to strike Ariel with them.
The girl maneuvered exceptionally well.
Who had said women drove badly?
At least those types of flights came naturally to her.
It reminded Gerald of the broom a witch rides.
Perhaps that’s why she was so good at it.
Ariel kept crossing the sky doing pirouettes in the air among other acrobatics, elegantly dodging attacks of electricity, fire, and water.
Meanwhile, Bīng Xuě was fighting the hydra on the other side.
The attacks he received were also lightning and fire, however he used his ice power to create walls and thus protect himself.
Bīng Xuě was extremely agile and versatile, moving at great speed as he propelled himself toward one of the heads.
One of the heads tried to get in his way and devour him, however a drill emerged from the ground and struck that same head, preventing that from happening.
Apparently the Silver Dragon of the West, while limited in power, was able to support others using their ability.
The truth is that more than [F-rank texture manipulation], their ability seemed like direct surface manipulation.
Though that was due to their incredible control of the ability and the arduous training they had undergone to be able to give versatile and powerful use to their power.
Thanks to that, Noelia had achieved unmatched power and gigantic versatility.
The ground twisted and from it emerged a bulge, which began spinning and molding as if it were a drill.
Then the projectile shot out at an unmatched speed right at the head trying to get in Bīng Xuě’s way.
It didn’t kill it, but it did damage and deflect its trajectory, allowing Bīng Xuě to drive his sword into one of the hydra’s heads.
The black ice sword began generating more ice inside the hydra’s head, making it explode from the inside out, making the ice grow within it.
"Mmm, what’s that?" Bīng Xuě then wondered, noticing he was being covered by a shadow.
Upon turning, he saw how a gigantic ice rock was being created.
Large masses of ice were gathering in the sky, forming a kind of iceberg.
Gerald and Ariel had joined together to form that construction.
Or at least a group of goblin shamans and Ariel.
Apparently they were combining forces to create a gigantic ice structure.
Though the ice specialist was...
"Heh, maybe they could use a little help," the boy told himself. He began creating a blizzard around him and used it to fly upward.
Right at the moment Bīng Xuě moved away from that head, an attack from the hydra’s head that had been damaged passed by below him. If he hadn’t moved, he would have received it head-on. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Bīng Xuě acted quickly, positioning himself on top of the artificial iceberg as he touched it and it began increasing in size by his own power.
"[Raising temperature is Taboo]," Bīng Xuě announced, so when the hydra prepared to attack the iceberg with fire and electricity, it was useless. "Great, looks like this will be enough."
Then the gigantic iceberg was created. It was already even larger than the hydra itself.
Bīng Xuě then broke it in some parts, making some parts start falling on the hydra, crushing some heads.
"That’s it!" Gerald shouted excitedly, seeing how those ice blocks fell.
In a few seconds, the gigantic hydra ended up buried in ice.
The heroes had won.
