The Supreme Wild Young Master-Chapter 608: Independent Space_1
Chapter 608: Chapter 608: Independent Space_1
In the void, a white mist drifted and loomed, it was elusive and unpredictable.
Amidst the ever-oscillating mist, an ancient and imposing hall towered from the ground. Half-hidden and half-visible, it resembled a behemoth from the primordial era, bowing to choose its prey, its majesty was inviolable.
"Hall of Nothingness? What does it mean?" Zhang Xian walked in front of the hall, gazing upward at a plaque above the gate.
On first glance, there seemed nothing unusual about the plaque. As he stepped closer, however, he felt an unknown pressure washing over him, stirring in him an urge to kneel in worship.
"Roar..."
Suddenly, Xiao Huo squirmed in Mo Shaoyun’s arms, voicing a dissatisfied roar.
"Ah..."
The prostrating figure of Mo Shaoyun suddenly jolted, a hint of shock flashing in her eyes. "What... What does that mean? Why did I feel an urge to kneel just now?"
"There’s something wrong with the phrase on the plaque." Zhang Xian lifted his gaze, his eyes fixed on the three characters ’Hall of Nothingness’ engraved on the plaque. "Just how powerful were the Ancient Cultivators? The mere lettering they left behind was able to influence one’s state of mind, causing one to involuntarily kneel."
"Incredible..."
Mo Shaoyun, with hand on chest, remarked, "If Xiao Huo hadn’t warned me, I would definitely have ended up kneeling."
"This little creature." Zhang Xian suddenly turned his gaze to Xiao Huo.
After gaining the inheritance, he might not know much about the deeds of the Ancient Cultivators. But he did possess knowledge about a variety of beasts related to cultivation. Despite several attempts, he had found no information about a creature like Xiao Huo, only that it might be a mutated beast.
"Yi ya ya..."
Seeing Zhang Xian’s gaze on herself, Xiao Huo could hardly contain her pride, as if to say that it wasn’t just for show.
Seeing this, Mo Shaoyun stroked Xiao Huo’s little head tenderly, "Hehe, our little Huo is the best."
Feeling Mo Shaoyun’s praise, Xiao Huo became even prouder.
"You little..."
Zhang Xian, shaking his head with a bitter smile, said, "Let’s go in and have a look."
Mo Shaoyun was about to stop Zhang Xian from taking the risk. If a single plaque could affect their state of mind, then the dangers within this hall were unimaginable. Despite the power of the Formation having declined over such a long period of neglect, they were not able to estimate just how powerful the Ancient Times’ Cultivators could be based on the current circumstances. They realized they were as powerless as ants.
Remembering Zhang Xian’s temperament, Mo Shaoyun, who was about to step forward, retreated again. After reaching this point, Zhang Xian would not be content until he had thoroughly investigated it.
The Blood Soul followed behind Zhang Xian and Mo Shaoyun, his poker face bore no expression, his stride was undeterred as if he knew no fear.
"Roar..."
Xiao Huo suddenly jumped onto Mo Shaoyun’s shoulder, rapidly thumping its chest with its two front paws.
"You want to protect me?" Mo Shaoyun turned and laughed.
Xiao Huo nodded, "Yi ya."
Mo Shaoyun, chuckling, nodded. Then she took Xiao Huo off her shoulder, cradling it in her arms. She followed along Zhang Xian’s footsteps, venturing into the hall.
Zhang Xian had made a mental preparation before entering. However, he felt an urge to curse when he scanned the interior of the hall. It was completely empty, devoid of anything worthwhile.
"Uhm..."
Mo Shaoyun scanned the room and asked, "Did we come to the wrong place?"
"I don’t know." Zhang Xian frowned. "We might still be in the Formation right now and haven’t made it to the real place yet."
Mo Shaoyun hesitated before saying, "Are you suggesting this hall is an illusion, and it doesn’t really exist?"
"I wouldn’t rule it out."
Zhang Xian spoke, "I told you earlier, didn’t I? The Formation is a very peculiar existence. Creating some forbidden places within the Formation is just the basic."
"So, what we need to do now is to exit this Formation and go to the real place?"
"When we first entered here, it was through a mountain cave. If we leave, will we return to the same cave?" Mo Shaoyun asked.
"A cave?"
Zhang Xian shook his head with a bitter smile, "Elder Sister Shaoyun, don’t underestimate this place. It’s not an ordinary tomb. If it were a tomb, there wouldn’t be such a complex Formation. I suspect that this was a major power base from the Ancient Times, and the cave was just the entrance."
"No way?" Mo Shaoyun retorted, "That mountain isn’t that high, and there doesn’t seem to be a room large enough to construct a mountain gate."
Zhang Xian chuckled.
"Elder Sister Shaoyun, what do you think of this hall?" he asked, casting his gaze around the interior of the hall.
Mo Shaoyun took a moment, before replying, "Quite magnificent, just empty. We searched for so long to find this hall, and all we did was a futile effort."
"You also know it’s magnificent?"
Zhang Xian replied, "Since you can stand in here, why wouldn’t the people of those Sects be able to? Are you thinking this magnificent sight could exist inside a mountain?"
Mo Shaoyun was stunned before saying in surprise, "So,...your point is..."
"Yes," Zhang Xian nodded, "That’s correct. The Formation creates its own space. Some experts could even open a small world using the power of the Formation. This is the power of the Formation."
"With regards to the Formation you placed on the island..." Mo Shaoyun asked, surprised beyond measure.
What does creating a space through the Formation mean? Could Zhang Xian, with his knowledge of the Formation, open up a small space anywhere he wanted?
Zhang Xian scratched his nose awkwardly before responding, "Well, although I am yet to be a Cultivator in a true sense, I cannot place such a Formation. The one I placed on the island is just a simple defensive Formation. The Formation here at its peak could kill me as easily as crushing an ant."
"What about now?" Mo Shaoyun asked.
Zhang Xian said, "It certainly doesn’t have this kind of power now, can you stop asking about that?"
"Alright!"
Mo Shaoyun changed the topic and asked, "What should we do now? If we can’t find a way out, we will starve to death here."
"Keep looking!"
Zhang Xian said, "The range of my spiritual sense is very limited, I need to be close to the formation’s exit to find it. Now that the formation is on the verge of dissipating, the exit will be easy to find, we can get out."
"What are you waiting for then?"
Mo Shaoyun said, "Although we can manage for a few days without food, we can’t go on like this forever! Right now, time is of the essence."
"Do you think I am unprepared?"
Zhang Xian said, "I don’t know about them, but I have pills in my storage ring, we won’t starve."
Mo Shaoyun asked, "If you were prepared, why didn’t you say so earlier?"
Zhang Xian said, "You didn’t ask!"
"Er..."
With an eye roll at Zhang Xian, Mo Shaoyun said, "I’m leaving, I don’t want to deal with you."
Zhang Xian chuckled, "You’re going in the wrong direction."
Mo Shaoyun halted, took a look around, and then, feeling rather embarrassed, she headed towards the right side of the hall. There was a small door in the upper-right corner that served as the only exit of this grand hall.
"Interesting." Zhang Xian laughed and followed her.
Once through the small door, to the left was a garden filled with green grass and vibrant flowers. A long veranda snaked its way through, splitting the garden in half.
"How beautiful..."
Mo Shaoyun had just stepped into the garden when she was captivated by the beautiful scenery in front of her and found herself unable to move forward.
Pulling out her phone, she was about to take a picture when she suddenly turned to ask, "Zhang Xian, do you think I could I take photo here and bring it out? Can I capture the scenes here?"
"Why not? All these things are real, they are just not in our real world."
Zhang Xian explained, "Spiritual Energy is the foundation of all things, and formations are supported by Spiritual Energy. 90% of what we encounter in a formation is real."
"You mean..."
Mo Shaoyun tentatively questioned, "Everything inside the formation is basically real, it’s just not in our living world, is that why you said it was conjured up?"
"Yeah, you can take pictures of things here."
Zhang Xian added, "However, when you encounter an illusion formation in the future, don’t ever think it’s real. Illusion formations primarily affect your thoughts."
"I understand."
Mo Shaoyun nodded, handed her phone to Zhang Xian and said, "Come on, help me take a few."
Zhang Xian sighed and took the phone to start taking pictures.
A while later, Mo Shaoyun said, "What are you standing there for? Come over here! We’ve known each other for so long but we’ve never taken a picture together, not to mention a wedding photo."
"Um...about that..."
Zhang Xian felt awkward for a moment, quickly jogged over, not daring to delay.
"Click...click...click..."
After a flurry of photographs, Mo Shaoyun put her phone away, satisfied that she had taken pictures of everything important.
"Done?" Zhang Xian looked at Mo Shaoyun.
Seeing her nod, he walked over, took Mo Shaoyun’s hand and holding the Blood Soul at the same time, said, "Since we’re finished here, let’s leave, I’ve found the exit."
"You found it that quickly?"
Mo Shaoyun was overjoyed and asked, "Where is the exit?"
"Ahead." Zhang Xian pulled Mo Shaoyun towards a pond in the middle of the garden.
Mo Shaoyun looked at the clear pond and asked, "Zhang Xian, are you sure you’re not fooling me? I can see the bottom of the pond, where is this so-called exit?"
"Did you see an entrance when you came in?" Zhang Xian asked.
Mo Shaoyun shook her head, "I don’t remember."
"That settles it."
Zhang Xian said, "You didn’t see the entrance when you came in, so why do you need to see an exit when you leave?"
"Zhang Xian, you... you’re getting more and more annoying!" Mo Shaoyun looked at Zhang Xian discontentedly.
Zhang Xian gave a knowing smile, then suddenly leapt into the air, hands holding Blood Soul, and with his arm around Mo Shaoyun’s waist, he headed straight for the center of the pond.
"Ah..."
Mo Shaoyun screamed in fright, "Zhang Xian, what are you doing?"
"Plunk..."
A soft splash echoed.
Zhang Xian, Mo Shaoyun, Blood Soul, and Xiao Huo didn’t land in the water but disappeared just above the pond as if they were never there.
