The System Awakens: Rise of the Champion-Chapter 129: Action and Reactions
Arlen Ayre Dathyra, Elfie Ayre Dathyra's younger brother, watched with a confused expression as his older sister hugged him tightly, checking to make sure he was alright and not about to die.
After a few minutes of reassurance, she finally took a breather before turning her gaze back to the most handsome and powerful man she had ever witnessed in her life.
"Thank you... you kept your word and saved my brother," she said softly.
"Sure," Damian shrugged as if it was no big deal.
"I don't know how I'm going to repay you for what you did today."
Without hesitation, Elfie placed her hand over Damian's as she moved slightly closer to him, invading his personal space.
She looked into his eyes, her face subconsciously turning slightly red in embarrassment.
Even though this was meant as a gesture of gratitude, it was the first time she had gotten so close to a man who wasn't her brother, and she knew Damian had a great interest in her.
All of this made her feel extremely self-conscious.
Damian's senses had grown to an insane degree.

He could now feel the emotions of those near him, and he could sense the embarrassment Elfie was feeling.
Welcoming her gesture, he took the chance to hold her hand, gently caressing it. Elfie didn't pull away.
Instead, she became immersed in watching his face.
The moment lingered for a few seconds before Damian broke the silence and spoke.
"I don't want anything in return. Just keep your end of the contract… and never, ever leave my faction," Damian said as he gently tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, his eyes locked with hers.
"Y-Yes... even if that contract isn't in place, I still... wouldn't leave your faction," Elfie said, unable to take her eyes off his neon blue ones.
They seemed to pull her into an abyss, his words were like a mesmerizing order she somehow couldn't refuse.
It was like Life itself was forcing her to admit it, or something close.
The truth was, deep down, she didn't want to leave his faction.
She wasn't sure if it was because of him or not, but she was fairly certain it was her own choice.
She simply didn't want to leave such a powerful faction, especially one led by this incomprehensible existence that seemed to have infinite potential for growth.
While the two of them seemed to be sharing a moment, Arlen, Elfie's brother, watched them with a strange gaze.
As far back as he could remember, his sister had always been cold, not just toward men, but toward almost everyone.
She had never been a sociable person.
And yet now, here she was, standing so close to a man, one ridiculously handsome at that, allowing him to touch her hand, even comb her hair, all while wearing an embarrassed expression that made it seem like she was actually enjoying it.
"Anyway," Damian said, turning to his faction members. "Let's get back to our territory."
As he turned his face in the direction of the massive crater left by his attack, the twin swords stabbed into its center began to vibrate.
A moment later, they launched into the air like rockets and landed in front of Damian, as if guided by some unseen force.
Meanwhile, both Shiru and Sir Holloway just pretended they were blind or something.
They didn't even want to watch the silent romance unfolding, especially Shiru, ever since Damian had evolved into a High Human.
It had been pretty hard for her not to look at Damian like a hungry goddess eyeing a big, delicious bone.
He was just too damn attractive for her.
The reason the girls were feeling this way was because, as a High Human, Damian was naturally far more attractive than any normal human, and even among High Humans, he stood out.
He was still much more attractive than even the most handsome of them.
On top of that, he had so many energies inside him that amplified his charm, like the [Elemental Essence], his [Dark Essence], [Holy Essence], and the [Ayuda Energies].
All of these boosted his charm by leaps and bounds.
There was also the fact that beings like elves had the ability to sense their perfect mate, especially the female elves like Elfie.
And right now, Elfie had never felt anything stronger than what she was feeling toward Damian.
Her senses weren't wrong.
Damian had the perfect body, perfect affinity to multiple energy types, a multitude of talents, constitutions, and abilities.
He was literally the most desirable mate to any female of any race in any Tower Realm right now.
Even though Damian knew exactly what they were feeling, he didn't do anything about it.
If he tried to suppress his charm, they wouldn't be exposed to it, and if they weren't exposed to it, they wouldn't be able to develop control or grow used to it.
So, he ignored them and focused on the twins in front of him, [Mercy, the Sword of Salvation] and [Judgement, the Sword of Punishment].
There was still energy radiating from them.
He could feel the heat.
They were burning hot, smoke rising off them even though the attack had already ended.
The swords then turned into specks of light and landed on his left hand, wrapping around his index and middle fingers, transforming into two rings, one white, one black.
"Let's get back," Damian said, and in the next second, their figure disappeared from the spot, back to the territory of the [Circle of Ouroboros] faction, leaving the entire battlefield empty, without a single soul.
Even though the High Human, or as some called him, High Demon, or what most now simply referred to as a Being, Damian Ignatius disappeared from the battlefield after the war ended, there were still some beings who continued watching, silently reliving everything that had happened there.
A High Human turning into a High Demon, then wielding Holy energy, followed by some other powerful force, to unleash a devastating attack, before returning to his High Human form as if it were nothing.
And to add to the shock, it was revealed that this being was also a ruler of Hell, capable of commanding thousands of demons.
The first group of beings who were most intrigued, or rather, intimidated by the existence of this being named Damian Ignatius were the demons of Biblical Hell.
"This being... just what the hell is he exactly? A human, a demon... or an angel? Because last I checked, he used the power of Holy Essence," a high-ranking demon, one of the 72 rulers of Hell, said with a concerned expression.
"This is troublesome. He basically declared he will be coming to Hell with the intention of conquering it... shouldn't we do something about this?" another ruler asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, even the King doesn't seem to be doing anything about it, so why should we?" a third ruler responded casually.
"We should be doing something, because if he really is aiming to conquer Hell for himself, he'll be coming for our heads. And if he does, I don't think I'm strong enough to deal with him," another ruler replied grimly.
"Our fealty resides with the King. If that damned monster is going to challenge the King, then he must cross our path first," another Ruler with dark blue skin replied.
"And I don't think we're weak enough to be defeated by someone who hasn't even crossed the First Tower Realm. It's him against all of Hell. He can't do shit."
"Do you really believe that?" another Ruler with brown skin asked.
"You saw how powerful that attack was, the one he used to kill that vampire, didn't you? Do you think, under the system's level and power restrictions, you could survive an attack like that? And don't forget, he wielded the power of Holy Essence. That's deadly for us."
"Come on, that war between him and the vampire was initiated through the system," the blue-skinned Ruler of Hell continued.
"But to challenge for the kingship of Hell is different. There are no restrictions. The one who proves stronger will be accepted by the will of Hell and begin their reign as the King of Hell."
"Unless he can prove that he's strong even without any sort of system restrictions, he can't do anything to us."
"Now Sitri, why are you pushing this? Isn't it more reasonable to be cautious? Unless you have ulterior motives..." another Ruler with jet-black, long hair asked, narrowing his eyes.
"You're imagining things. And besides, what could I even gain by doing anything in this situation, huh?" Sitri, the dark blue-skinned Ruler of Hell, replied.
The dark-haired ruler didn't press further, but he made a mental note not to trust this thick-skinned demon.
"This talk is nothing but useless. We'll deal with him ourselves if he really dares to challenge the throne."
"And I don't think the Seven Sins would be too happy with his declaration either. Even if he can defeat us, I don't believe he can stand against them," another demon added with confidence.
...
On the other side, in the counterpart of the place called Hell, in Heaven, a being that seemed to be made of pure light had also been watching everything that happened on the battlefield.
"Just what is this existence? I can't read him... Where did he come from? Could he be an existence from the High Planes?" the Heavenly Father muttered doubtfully.
"But if he really is from a higher place, why would he be here? I can't find any reason those existences would allow a being like him into the mortal world."
---
In another realm, far away from where Heaven or Hell existed, but a realm similar to both...
"Now do you believe me?" a godly, beautiful woman with long brown hair said to another woman beside her.
"This boy… he needs to be guided properly. We can't let him fall into the hands of those wretched men, or they'll turn him into a monster like them," replied a woman with fair skin and divine beauty, her thick brown hair flowing as she shook her head and sighed.
"Well, I suppose it's decided… I propose that we speak to the boy about our proposition ourselves," said a man with long white hair, sitting cross-legged on a cloud, a slight smile on his face.
"On the same topic, why don't we include the Heavenly Father in this as well?"
"I would have under normal circumstances, but this boy is involved with the demons of Biblical Hell… and we all know how complicated He is when it comes to His creations, don't we?" the woman with long dark brown hair replied.
"I guess you're right..." the white-haired man on the cloud sighed.
----
"Damn, that's a lot of gods..." Eden, the administrator of the system, sighed as she nursed a headache.
