The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 130: Ch : Threat to the PC Cafe- Part 4
"C-Chairman, are you threatening us? Do you think we will stay quiet if you do that? W-we are..."
"Someone abandoned by the world. Do you think anyone would take your side now that Ace has made it clear that he does not want to do anything with you? I am the only one who can save you."
The chairman was clearly prepared to counter anything the pair in front of him threw at him. But the pair still looked panicked as they thought about what to say next.
It was true that they were struggling because of Ace. Even their son, Mike, was threatened more than once because of Ace.
But they also knew that trying to take revenge was not something they could think about. Unless...
"What are you suggesting, sir?"
The aunt decided to ask the chairman. She was cautious but also ambitious and wanted to take control back of the situation.
After all, that was why she had tolerated this marriage this far. She could not let it slip through her hands that easily.
"Wife, what are you thinking? Don’t you think you are being too forward? Chairman, I’m sorry but I would like to decline—"
"Dear, this about Mike? Do you think he would be fine as he is? He might not be speaking about it, but I am sure he is struggling at his job."
The female spoke in a heartfelt voice, and seeing his wife like this made Kyle’s uncle pause as well.
He knew in his heart that his wife was wrong and he should not take her words seriously. But he could not help but fall for her words once more.
In the end, the chairman got what he wanted, and he gave the pair a smile of appreciation.
"It’s good to see that you both still have a sensible side to you. I should take my leave now. I hope you have a pleasant time ahead."
With those words, the chairman quickly left the scene with his secretary, and the uncle and wife were left.
The uncle quickly put his face in his hands as his face went wild.
"O-Oh no! What have we done-! I think we are making a mistake here."
The husband spoke, but his wife gave him a reassuring smile.
"Don’t worry so much, dear. I am sure everything will be fine. The chairman promised us that much, right? He will keep his words for sure."
She assured, and the husband sighed.
"I hope you are right. But at this rate, I am not sure if that would be enough or not."
He spoke, steeling his heart against whatever was going to happen next.
________
"A new news article is out. It seems like your aunt and uncle are on a redemption arc, and the association is helping them out. What are you going to do about it, Kyle? Do you need my help?"
Emma asked as she brought in the magazine from outside, and it had my aunt and uncle’s interview on the first page.
And not only the magazine, but the newspaper and other media outlets were buzzing with the news of my aunt and uncle as well.
It was not bothering me much, but I could tell that the others around me did not feel the same way.
"Put it down. I will read it and let out a statement soon. Should I ask for Lynn’s help—"
As soon as I said Lynn’s name, I felt someone looking at me. I turned around, only to meet Theo’s startled eyes.
I thought the alpha would look away once he was caught, but Theo kept looking at me, not turning away from me for even a second.
We were both looking at each other, and I felt a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach and also—
"So, what are you going to do? Do you have a plan?"
Emma asked, causing me to finally look away from Theo. The funny feeling in the pit of my stomach went away as well as I focused on the situation at hand.
"Ah-! I do have a plan. I talked with the Luminous’s lawyers to see what I should do next, and they told me to release a statement regarding this issue. I am also heading over to talk to Lynn about a dungeon later."
I told Ben and Emma, and they looked glad to see me taking initiative.
The only one who looked unhappy was Theo, and that was also because I could smell his pheromones.
From his face alone, it did not seem as if he was affected by my words at all.
"Oh, I see. Is that really so? I will go and restock the inventory for now."
Theo told us all, pretending that he had not heard what I just said as he went back to work. His behavior was really starting to concern me.
Especially with the way he sometimes looked at me as if he was trying to figure out whether he wanted to eat me or something else.
The blankness of his expression was also returning, and sometimes, he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.
It was happening more and more.
"Oh my-! Is Theo alright? He’s been acting weirdly for the past few days."
Even Emma noticed this as she commented, and I felt relieved to know that I was not the only one who thought about this.
"It should be fine, Emma. I think Theo is starting to get his memory back of who he used to be, and he has started to adjust. We should give him some space."
Ben told us, and I felt something inside me sour at those words.
’Huh-? Am I... disappointed? But why? I should be happy for Theo since he is starting to get his memories back, right?’
I asked myself, but I already knew the answer to why I felt so disappointed regarding all this. And there was no solution either.
After all, my worry and jealousy regarding Theo’s past was not something I wanted to explore.
