The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 136: Ch : To Hell’s Fire- Part 4
’Is this what... inside of this dungeon is like? There are no monsters. In fact, it looks like a modern city. But I should not let my guard down.’ 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
I reminded myself as I looked at the outstretched hand in front of me. The smiling face that looked back at me was almost shining.
The man who extended his hand toward me seemed to have no shame, not taking his hand back even after I gave him no answer. If anything, his smile widened even more.
"Come on-! What are you acting all shy for? I am not going to bite you. I just want to help you out."
The man told me once more, and he sounded even more genuine than before.
I would have believed him if not for my instincts that were telling me that he was not a good person and somehow trying to scam me.
"What do you want me to do? Nothing in this world is free, be it food or help. And you do not seem like the person to do it for their own benefit either."
I asked the man, and he paused before giving me a startled look. Then, he let out a startled laugh and gave me a pat on my back suddenly.
"Oh my-! There is no need to be this cautious. I promise I am not here to scam you or anything. I was just short on dancers and thought you looked pretty. So I wanted to offer you a job. You don’t have to be so offended by it."
The man told me, and from his relaxed expression, I had a feeling that he feared nothing... which likely meant that he had a lot of power at his command.
’Alright, I guess it won’t hurt to check the work this man is offering out. Besides, I am interested in his claim as well.’
The man had said that all ’lost souls’ ended up working at his establishment. Did that mean I would be able to see all the hunters that entered this place but were not able to find their way out?
"Are you done thinking? Then, let’s go."
The extended hand was not put down for even a second, and I gave it a look before I walked past the man.
I turned around to look at him but never once did I reach out toward the hand extended toward me.
"Are you not going to start walking? I am interested to see the place you told me about."
I told the man, and he quickly followed me. He was now sure that I was not going to take his hand, so he put it down.
But his gaze that looked at me changed because of this as well. He looked more cautious and way less friendly.
"I don’t know what you have against me, dear friend. But you should have taken my hand when you decided to follow me. That would have made your life much easier. Now, I might not be able to protect you."
The man told me with an almost remorseful voice. Not that I felt afraid because of that.
"Is that so? Well, I have good news for you. There is no need for you to protect me because I will be just fine. Now, shall we head out?"
I asked the man, and he walked in front of me with an unhappy look on his face, and we moved through the city.
People gave me startled glances, almost as if they could smell my strong scent and were startled by it. But I could not sense anyone’s secondary gender here.
These people did not have classifications like alpha, beta, and omega. The world here was much more equal and yet foreign to me.
"We are here."
The man told me as he stopped in front of the tallest buildings around. I could not see the end of the tower even when I looked up, and the man I followed simply walked toward the tower before he looked back at me.
"Are you not going to come inside? Remember, I offered you protection, but you are the one who turned it down. Whatever is going to happen now will be your fault."
The man told me, and I nodded before I entered the building.
Even though I was already in a dungeon, entering the building felt like I was entering another dungeon. Once again, a new world waited for me in front of my eyes.
But the monsters here weaved themselves human flesh, and their eyes looked at me with curiosity, wanting to know who I was.
"Hey Kaname, who’s the new face? One of yours? Man, he looks good. Can I have him for one night?"
Someone asked, and my guide, Kaname’s face soured. I could not tell whether it was because someone dared to call out to him or it was because he was still sour about me not taking his hand.
Whatever the case was, my guide kept his face neutral when he answered the question he was being asked.
"My guest here isn’t open to getting courted by you all. So if you want to try and take him, you are free to try. Just make sure you do not cause me any trouble."
The guide seemed to have abandoned me and was only leading me around to gain attention. I could understand that much for sure.
Clearly, he had felt offended because I had chosen to reject him, but I had no regret in my eyes, telling others that I did not feel bad about my decision.
"Huh-! Your guest... rejected you? The great Kaname everyone ends up falling for? Is your ego alright?"
Someone taunted, and I watched as Kaname clenched his hands in anger. Marks of crimson appeared on his hand, but he kept his cool as he worked through his anger.
"That was rather funny. But at least I still have people who are willing to associate with me, unlike you all. Now, I should take my leave now. I need to get my guest settled in."
