Chapter 145: Ch 145: Here to Help- Part 5

"How long has it been since Ace entered this dungeon? He has not contacted me at all. Should I head in after him?"

Rhiner looked at his watch, only to flinch as he saw how late it had been.

Ace had entered the dungeon almost four hours ago, and he had promised to keep in touch. But so far, there had not been a single message from the omega.

Not only that, but the pressure this dungeon emitted was too much. It made him want to fall to his knees and curl up upon himself.

’I cannot allow myself to get overwhelmed by a dungeon. Not when there are so many people counting on me. I need to pull myself together.’

Rhiner reminded himself as he patted his face to snap himself back into action. But the threat of the dungeon in front of him did not lessen even a little bit.

If anything, the dungeon felt even more intimidating than before.

"Should I... step forward to check? It can be a quick in and out visit. I am sure that won’t take long."

Rhiner commented as his feet moved. It felt like his own will that made him check out the dungeon. But in reality, it was not his own will.

Something was trying to control him and exert its influence over the alpha. And that something was working because Rhiner could not even feel it working on him.

One second, he was outside the dungeon, and the next, he was standing right in the middle of a bustling city with the exit nowhere to be seen.

"Where the heck am I... how did I end up here?"

Rhiner asked as he looked around. He tried thinking back to what happened, but he could not recall anything. It was as if he had no idea what just happened.

But he knew one thing for sure — this dungeon felt different from any other he had heard about. He had never seen or heard of a dungeon that had a city inside before.

"Hey mister, you look lost and curious. Are you new here? If so, then would you like my help? If you stay here like this, then you might get eaten alive."

A stranger told Rhiner as they came closer to him. Rhiner was instantly alerted but did not show it on his face.

’How did I not notice the stranger coming so close to me up until they spoke? Just what the heck is this place?’

Rhiner tried to smell the other person, but they had no pheromones. That likely meant that they were a beta.

If so, he could even use his pheromones to gather some information from the other party. And he tried to do that as well. Even betas usually showed a reaction in front of strong alpha pheromones.

But the other party showed no reaction to them. He could either not feel it or was too resilient to show any reaction.

"What is this place? Where am I? I am new here, and I don’t... recall how I came here."

Rhiner told the other party, waiting to hear and see their reaction. The stranger looked sympathetic and gave Rhiner a look of sadness.

But there was no shock on the stranger’s face, almost as if he expected such a question to come his way.

"Don’t worry. Most people don’t remember how they came in here either. Just know that you have been chosen by a greater power for a greater purpose. Now, come and follow me. Since you are here, you will need some help surviving."

The stranger told Rhiner, and he decided to follow the stranger. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The first thing he needed to do here was find Ace so that they could reunite and make a plan about exiting this place.

But that was easier said than done because this dungeon was far from a traditional dungeon.

Here, the monsters had likely taken human shape so that it was impossible to tell a friend from a foe.

The stranger took Rhiner to a high-class restaurant/bar. It was fancy — the kind where the most elite people in life came to blow their money away.

Once again, it was not a place he ever thought he could come to. And yet, here he was... right in the middle of such a place.

"I will go and talk with the owner and tell them about your situation. You can wait here for me."

The stranger told Rhiner and left him all alone. He could feel the crowd’s interest in him as he took a seat.

But more than the crowd, he shivered as he felt a pair of eyes looking at him from across the room.

The person looking at him had a pair of glowing eyes, but his face and body were hidden by a strange power, causing Rhiner to feel suspicious.

’That man... feels like bad news. My instincts are telling me that I need to keep away from that man for my own good. I don’t think I have ever felt things like this before.’

Rhiner was a strong alpha, and he liked to be independent as well. His instincts had never behaved in the way they were doing now.

Finally, he turned to pay attention to the stranger who brought him here because that stranger was back.

But a part of him was not able to take his eyes off the dangerous stranger on the other side of the hall. He felt torn, wanting to pay attention to both sides and ultimately failing to do both.

"Master, this is the person I told you about. He’s powerful and has a good face. Don’t you think he would be a good fit to be in here?"

The stranger asked, and the ’master’ looked him up and down before he opened his mouth to speak.

Suddenly, Rhiner had a feeling that he needed to get out of here before the master made his decision. Otherwise, he would be stuck in this dungeon for good.
