The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 144: Ch : Here to Help- Part 4
"You want...to leave? But why...no, I mean, sure, you can do that if you want to. I will be happy to help you out."
Kaname looked confused and likely meant the question as well. Unfortunately for him, I was not going to grace him with an answer.
"I am happy to see that our thoughts align. You do not have to give me any money because I only worked a single day. I shall take my leave now."
I told Kaname as I tried to walk past him. But I had not even crossed the door to this room when Kaname reached for my hand.
His eyes widened as he looked at the tattoo on my hand, and then at me. But he looked resigned when he saw that there was no glow in the mark on my hands.
"You should be more careful with what you put on your body. This mark can cause a lot of trouble if you are not careful. If I were you, I won’t move around leaving it in the open... least someone misunderstands."
That was the last advice the man gave me before I yanked my hand out of his grip and disappeared out of the room.
Kaname likely wanted to tell me something else, but the shock of seeing the mark on my hand caused him to forget what he wanted to say.
Not that it was any of my problem anymore. I was not here to play around any longer. I had gained the mark of the king and somehow learned to control it. Now, I just need to live ten more days with it, and this dungeon could come to an end.
________
’How long are you going to pretend to be sleeping? You do know that I can tell you are awake, right? Trying to ignore reality won’t help you.’
The voice inside Theo’s head told him as he stepped into the crowded place that was the casino.
Currently, he was inside a dungeon since his other half wanted him to come here. According to the demon, something fun was going to happen here soon.
"I do not like this place. It gives me the chills and feels wrong. Can we head back now? I want to be anywhere but not here."
Theo told his other half as he looked around the place. There was a lot he noticed, like the couple in the corner of the casino and the people who were losing everything.
It all made him feel rather... lonely. He longed to be with Kyle, but he had to be here all on his own.
’Don’t be like that. What would motivate you to move?... Would it help if I told you that we are doing it all for Kyle’s sake? We do need to make sure he survives this dungeon.’
The voice told Theo, and Theo flinched.
His other half knew Theo well, so he told Theo exactly what Theo wanted to hear — that they were here for Kyle’s sake.
"This is not fair. You know that I feel helpless when you bring Kyle up. Fuck-! So, where are we, and what are we doing here?"
Theo asked, knowing that he had been caught in the web of his other half’s words. But he could not afford to take a chance when the person on the other side was Kyle.
’Hmm, this dungeon I brought you in is Hell’s Fire. Does the name sound familiar? Not that it matters. What matters is that Kyle has been chosen as the next king of this place, and in the next ten days, he would be sacrificed by this dungeon... that is, if we don’t interfere now.’
Theo jerked around as he heard his other half tell him this.
He had a feeling that something like this would happen sooner or later. But he did not expect things to turn this bad this fast.
"So, how much time do we have? I doubt asking you how or why this happened will help us out in any way."
Theo told his other half and was met with silence for a moment.
"What? Why are you not speaking? Got nothing to say to me anymore?"
Theo asked, and his other half chuckled back at him.
’Oh-! As if. I am just surprised, that’s all. I never expected to see someone as timid as you try to take a stance this strong.’
His other half told him, and Theo stiffened. He felt his other half try and grab control of his body, and he fought for a few seconds but ultimately gave in.
"You better not cause any trouble for me."
Those were his last words before the fog took him. The next time he opened his eyes, it was Theo’s other half in control. And unlike Theo, he looked professional and ready for business.
"Oh, don’t worry. I am here to just do what I need to do. There is no need for you to feel concerned about me."
The man told Theo before he walked into the crowd.
He was going to make sure Kyle was able to remain the king of this dungeon for the next ten days so that he won’t become a sacrifice. But he also needed to make sure his energy source won’t suffer.
"I am close to my goal, and ideally, I would want to reach it. But if my beloved is here to try and stop me, then how can I continue? The only thing I can do is take it all away and finish somewhere else."
Theo’s voice did not sound like himself when he spoke. He sounded amused but terrifying at the same time.
"Alright, it’s time to start. All I am doing is for my beloved and the future I want to have together with them. Everyone else is of no consequence to me."
Theo spoke these words, but despite the crowded room, no one heard him or paid attention to him.
He looked around, and his eyes fell on a familiar silhouette that seemed to have lost his way here as well.
Hunter Rhiner was here as well.
