The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 163: Ch : A Story only I know- Part 4
"That fucking old man has gone mad. Does he really think Theo is ready for the field? Does he want Theo to die out there or something?"
The female beta complained as she took Theo’s readings. She was a compassionate soul who often allowed Theo more degree of freedom than he initially had.
He had never asked her why she was so free and careful with him, but he had heard her mutter under her breath how he was treated not right.
According to what he knew, this human had a son the same age around Theo who was an alpha as well. As such, she likely saw her own son’s reflection in him and treated him kindly.
She was not the only one who treated Theo well, but she was certainly more cooperative with him compared to other humans.
"Theo, you don’t have to do anything. If you feel scared or want to come back, just wait for Ace to come and fetch you. He’ll help you out in any way you want. Do you know who Ace is? He’s the best hunter currently in the world and he’s an omega as well. Isn’t it fascinating?"
The female asked him and Theo felt curious about Ace. Something in him told him that this ’Ace’ was an important clue for him to be able to find his home.
So he needed to find Ace once he was in the area.
"Anyway, I am really worried about you. Please, do not take unnecessary risks and come back as soon as you can. I will be waiting for you back here."
The female told Theo and he nodded before he headed out. He was escorted to the vehicle that would take him away from this place and he gave the research facility one last look before he was escorted out.
"We are here. Hurry up and get out, kid. We don’t have the whole day here."
One of the scientists who accompanied Theo told him rudely. He was shoved out of the car he was in and right on the road.
He gave the scientist a blank look that freaked them out.
"Tsk, just where are you looking, kid? The dungeon is the other way. Sheesh-! What a creepy kid."
The scientist muttered and Theo looked at the dungeon gate. But there was no sign of Ace anywhere near.
"What are you looking around for? Hurry up and enter."
The man shoved Theo into a dungeon and a familiar energy warped around him. The energy of the dungeon welcomed him and Theo wanted nothing more than to remain here.
"Why does it all feel familiar and comfortable?"
He asked, only for his other half to answer him.
’This dungeon is made up of our energy. Everything in here and in other dungeons follows our will. Now, shall we go and find Ace now?’
The voice in his head was as curious about Ace as he was. So they went ahead to try and find Ace in this huge dungeon.
No monster dared to attack him, but they did help them navigate around. And that was how they found a young human in a mask, trying to attack a monster.
The fight was completely one-sided. The hunter was making quick work of the monster. But then the monster noticed him.
Naturally, even this monster had no intention of attacking Theo, but he ordered the monster to attack him anyway. He wanted Ace to pay attention to him.
"Hey...what are you doing here? A kid? No way-! Anyway, watch out-!"
Ace yelled as he ran toward Theo as well, and before the monster could attack and injure him, Ace pulled Theo out of harm’s way.
Strong arms wrapped around Theo’s middle and he blinked and looked up at Ace with a blank look on his face.
"Hey kid, are you alright? You are not too hurt, right?"
Ace asked with a worried face and Theo felt his mouth go dry. That soft but pleasant scent that covered him from head to toe made him want to roll in it forever. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
’I want to stay here. I do not want to leave. Ace is...he feels like home.’
Theo leaned against Ace and he wanted to tug Ace closer as well. But he was too short to do that and soon, Ace put him back on his feet.
"Who are you, kid? And what are you doing here? This is not safe, so get out of this dungeon. Should I escort you out myself or something?"
Ace asked and Theo still felt like he could not speak. The presence in front of him was too much at the moment.
A hand extended toward him before he was out of Ace’s arms.
"Here, hold my hand for now. I promise I will help you out of here the best I can. If you have any problem, you can talk to me. I will try and listen to you regarding it."
Theo nodded, but his heart beat faster and faster as he followed that man out. Something about him felt familiar, like he was home.
’H-He is...’
’Our omega. But we cannot claim him... At least, not yet. We need to gain some more power before we can take him away.’
Theo agreed with his other self and returned to the scientist. He did not want to let go of Ace, but Ace gave his head a pat before he handed him back over to the person in front of him.
"I hope you grow up healthy and do not venture into dungeons like this one again. Goodbye for now."
Ace told Theo, and Theo knew he was in love right then and there. He was going to do whatever he needed to do in order to get Ace to look at him again.
Unfortunately, the next few days were too busy and then he got the worst news of his life—Ace had entered the ’Final Dungeon’ and never returned with his team. No one knew what was going on with him in there either.
