Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Rainforest Survival

In the reality show, regular guests are required to cooperate in the long term, and it’s rare to see someone like Jessica Young who disregards everything and creates tension.

The accompanying director rubbed his forehead, truly wondering if inviting Jessica Young onto the show was the right choice...

Luckily, this is a survival reality show, so clashes are quite normal. If this were a comedy reality show, who knows how much the audience would make fun of this!

"You’re indeed not worthy of associating with me," Maya Monroe’s eyes were haughty, her voice indifferent.

She was already in a foul mood, and Jessica Young just happened to walk into her line of fire.

Maybe it was Maya Monroe’s imagination, but Paul Phillips, who was usually silent, seemed to glance at her.

Jessica Young was taken aback: "You... You..."

Jamie Miller quickly intervened: "Stop arguing, we’re almost at our destination. Everyone hurry and take a rest; who knows what kind of challenge awaits us!"

With that, everyone tensed up.

Justin Morgan thought about the first episode he’d watched, feeling quite confident: "Don’t worry, everyone, I’ve already figured out the pattern of the ’Great Survival Challenge’. It’s just a tough start, but the later stages aren’t that scary! The first episode was like this; I’ve taken special notes!" As he said this, Justin Morgan’s voice carried pride.

"So you all don’t need to worry, ’Great Survival Challenge’ gets simpler and cozier as it progresses. We have already conquered the toughest island, what is there to fear now?!"

Motivated by his words, everyone’s shoulders unconsciously relaxed–a sign of relief.

Maya Monroe found it hilarious, wondering if Justin Morgan was out of his mind. Why would he believe that ’Great Survival Challenge’ would keep using the same old format? Even if the producers wanted to simplify things, would the audience willingly accept repeated scenarios? 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Jamie Miller nodded thoughtfully: "I also watched the first episode specially; indeed, that’s the case."

Though Jessica Young felt more at ease, she couldn’t help but challenge Justin Morgan, as she couldn’t stand his smug demeanor.

"So you think you know it all! Can you guarantee you’re right?"

Justin Morgan scoffed: "Then just don’t listen."

Unexpectedly, a new round of tug-of-war was about to begin. Jamie Miller felt endlessly frustrated; he’d never participated in such a tricky show with so many peculiar guests.

"Jin, it seems you’ve researched quite a bit about the first episode." It sounded like a compliment but was actually meant to distract Justin Morgan.

But somehow, the usually show-offish Justin Morgan wasn’t buying it. He was determined to prove himself right.

He shouted loudly, waking the guide napping ahead.

"Guide, I say this episode will definitely be simpler than the last one, wouldn’t you agree?"

The guide, groggy with sleep, wasn’t annoyed by the interruption; instead, he chuckled lightly, crossing one leg over the other, the rabbit head on his slippers prominently visible.

"What makes you say that?"

Justin Morgan cleared his throat and spoke seriously: "Based on my analysis, the difficulty of each exploration task in the last season followed a downward trend, so it’s only logical that the second episode should be less challenging than the first, isn’t it?"

The guide’s eyes, gleaming like glass, simply returned a soft smile without responding.

This group of guests had incredibly simple and adorable thoughts!

To Justin Morgan, this was akin to tacit approval; his face seemed filled with the joy of a winner. He looked in Jessica Young’s direction and scoffed: "Believe it or not, I know I’m right!"

Jessica Young clenched her fists, scoffing coldly.

Justin Morgan, like a triumphant rooster, sat down, flaunting his bright plumage.

He organized this wave of predictions and analyses, certainly aiming to capture the audience’s attention.

The poor reception from the last episode left him very disgruntled; he was a popular young star. Losing to Miles Wallace would be understandable, but instead, he lost to Maya Monroe, who was surrounded by scandal. How could he swallow such a defeat? He was determined to redeem himself!

Once they reached the destination and validated his predictions, surely the audience’s admiration for him would be boundless!

With the guide’s clear voice ringing out, after traveling for nearly four hours, they finally reached their destination.

The rest of the group eagerly disembarked the plane, while Justin Morgan felt like wanting to sprout wings and fly out.

Maya Monroe wasn’t nearly as enthusiastic as the others, remaining lazily in her seat, unwilling to leave.

Unexpectedly, the director was seated not far behind her, flashing her a smile: "Not getting off the plane?"

Maya Monroe held her head: "I feel a bit stifled, breathless, not very comfortable..."

The director chuckled, seemingly able to see through her ploy: "The air outside is fresher, perhaps you’ll feel better going outside."

Eventually, Maya Monroe stood up, lazily heading out.

As she stepped onto the stairs, she heard a shocked shout from others, and upon listening closely, it seemed to be Justin Morgan.

"Are you making an international joke? Did the navigation go wrong? Why are we brought to this godforsaken place? Wasn’t it said the first episode was the toughest? Look around —are you sure this place is easier than the previous deserted island?!"

Maya Monroe slightly furrowed her brow, walking down step by step, soon witnessing a sight that could only be described as horrifying.

Instantly sensing an overwhelming heat that seemed to pour through her veins into her heart, bringing direct discomfort.

The air was saturated with humidity; towering trees rose from the ground, dense and dark green, evidently quite ancient, with thick branches twisted together, covered in moss. Not far away, strange howls echoed.

Surrounding her feet were thriving green vegetation, but their overgrowth coupled with rarity made them seem somewhat abnormal.

Maya Monroe’s face visibly darkened.

Ryan Spencer had indeed predicted it right—tropical rainforest...

However, Maya Monroe’s mood wasn’t as bad as last time, perhaps due to the buffer of the previous episode. More likely, the wholly unfamiliar environment sparked new excitement for Maya Monroe.

Of course, Maya Monroe fundamentally disliked survival challenges, preferring leisure and comfort. Nonetheless, compared to the solitude and dullness of an island, a tropical rainforest seemed far less boring.

Maya Monroe’s streaming messages continued nonstop:

[Maya: Oh my God, it’s a tropical rainforest!]

[Spaceship Captain: That’s odd, wasn’t the tropical rainforest featured in the last season? Is the show repeating old patterns?]

[Smart Snail: No, no, no, my intuition tells me things aren’t that simple (resting chin on hand)]
