The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 43: Irritable Because Maya Monroe Isn’t Here
Scott watched on the side, bewildered. At the moment Kiki turned around to leave, Scott couldn’t help but exclaim angrily, "What’s wrong with Kiki? Does she think no one can surpass her and everyone has to be her defeated opponent? Ridiculous!"
Maya frowned. Strange, why was Scott speaking up for her? Wasn’t everyone in this book world supposed to be influenced by the protagonist’s halo?
Scott was just a sidekick to a cannon fodder villain in the book, so naturally, he didn’t have much of a role. Maya couldn’t figure out why Scott would do this. Could it be... Scott was part of the villain’s camp?
With this thought, Maya now looked at Scott with a bit of pity in her eyes.
She was just completing her tasks, and getting hurt or dying was all an act to her, but it was different for Scott. He existed because of the book, and ceasing to exist meant exactly that.
Being fed by Scott and other assistants every day, Maya inevitably developed some feelings.
Scott was quite startled by the way Maya looked at him. There was one thing Kiki said earlier that wasn’t wrong; Maya was full of mischief, and suddenly looking at him as gently as this, who knows what she’s plotting!
"M-Maya... what’s up?" Scott asked, trembling.
But Maya suddenly turned her head away, "Nothing."

"Brother Ian, I’ll see you off here. Oh, why is Vincent still late? Could he be stuck in traffic?"
After discussing matters with Ian Rowe, Joel Quinn personally escorted Ian to the ground floor.
"I said you didn’t need to." Ian didn’t like the feeling of being watched by the crowd at the entrance.
"How could I not? I was on a business trip recently and couldn’t see you at all. I even called you on video, and you rejected it. Brother Ian, your eyes are only on work, so cold-hearted!"
Joel dramatically wiped the corner of his eye.
Then Joel noticed Ian hadn’t told him to get lost even after so long, which was surprising since Ian normally couldn’t tolerate this kind of behavior from him.
Ian squinted his eyes; Joel’s tone and actions just reminded him of someone, and his thoughts drifted away.
When he snapped back, another question arose. Since when did Maya have such an influence on him?
However, he hadn’t seen Maya for nine days now...
Thinking about it, he felt a bit inexplicably irritated.
The phone rang, and Ian glanced at the screen; it was Vincent Summers.
As soon as he answered, Vincent’s loud voice, filled with panic, rang out: "I’m stuck in traffic! Brother Ian, wait for me for three minutes. Three minutes is all I need! Please don’t dock my pay! The old man has frozen all my cards. I’m relying on you for a living!"
Ian acknowledged and hung up the call.
Next to him, Joel was laughing like a blooming flower, gloating, "Stuck in traffic, how pathetic for Vincent!"
A paparazzo, holding a camera, started frantically taking photos in the direction of Joel and Ian.
Joel’s romantic scandals were endless, and he was a frequent subject in entertainment tabloids. Hearing that Joel had returned to the country recently, the paparazzo rushed over, eager to uncover juicy news from Joel’s side.
At last, he saw Joel, and when he noticed that the person beside Joel wasn’t a female celebrity, the paparazzo was momentarily disappointed. But soon his eyes lit up, because that distinguished figure beside Joel was none other than Ian Rowe, a regular in financial reports!
The bromance topic was worth hyping, especially since both were big shots.
The paparazzo could almost foresee a wave of money flying towards him as he quickly pressed the shutter button.
Joel, sharp-eyed, noticed the paparazzo taking shots. He was used to such occurrences and even waved with a smile.
Ian, of course, noticed the situation too, and frowned, "Joel, I don’t want my name in any entertainment tabloids."
"Brother Ian, you’re so old-fashioned. Just imagine how many beauties will be enchanted by you once the report comes out?"
"I don’t like being used as gossip for people’s conversations."
Having said that, Ian walked forward because Vincent had arrived.
Vincent got out of the car, his cheeks slightly flushed, "Brother Ian, I said three minutes, and look, I even got here two seconds early!"
Vincent took a moment to glance at his phone.
After Ian got into the car, Joel elbowed Vincent, "Long time no see, Vincent. Have you missed me during this time?"
"Don’t use your flirting tactics on me." Vincent smirked, "It’s only been two months, and we even talked on the phone between."
Joel chuckled, "You’re quite unromantic. But I’ve noticed that Brother Ian seems to have become more irritable and cold lately!"
"That’s because of Maya. She’s been hovering around Brother Ian every day, spewing cheesy love words. Who wouldn’t become irritable and angry?" Vincent blurted, his face nearly twisting into a knot, but then quickly realized, "Hey, wait a minute, hasn’t Maya been on set for a few days now? She’s busy wrapping up a shoot and hasn’t been home for eight or nine days. Maya hasn’t been home for so long, shouldn’t Brother Ian be feeling relaxed and happy?"
Joel’s eyes flickered, "Why are you so sure that Brother Ian would be happy after Maya leaves?"
"Isn’t the reason obvious? Maya’s always being bossy and unreasonable, lacking intelligence, taste, and she even once set a Tibetan mastiff on me. Such a vicious woman, wouldn’t I be delighted once she’s gone? I should be setting off fireworks to celebrate!"
"Have you ever considered the possibility... that Brother Ian actually becomes irritable because Maya isn’t around?" Joel’s gaze was distant.
"You..." Vincent’s eyes widened, unable to believe what Joel was saying, "What are you talking about?"
Vincent’s voice escalated uncontrollably, echoing like a loudspeaker, "With Maya’s nasty and petty nature, our Brother Ian..."
"Vincent Summers." Ian’s voice cut through.
Vincent shuddered all over, only then realizing he was badmouthing Maya. But hang on, why was he getting scolded for criticizing Maya? Why did Brother Ian sound so harsh?
Joel laughed and patted Vincent on the shoulder, "You better get going. You’ve been chatting with me here for so long; Brother Ian must be getting impatient waiting."
Yes, Ian was angry because he was tired of waiting. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Vincent nodded and quickly hopped into the car.
